Very nice. I have a question tho. Wouldn't the tidal stress heat up the object until it glows? In these simulations it seems that surface temperature is only rised when there are collisions.
I don't think these simulations even take temperature into effect, I think that it's just programmed that the top layer of stuff is normal colored and a color gradient is applied down to white hot to the center. Then, when a collision happens the thin normal layer gets lost in all the red. Not 100% sure though.
could omoamoa be created this way and flung out of the solar system very far though to apear coming from outside the solar system by thenext encounter?
Would it be possible to create a version of OpenSPH that utilizes the GPU instead of the CPU? This would be able to make NASA-quality simulations in only a few weeks.
Welcome to interstellar space simulations, if you found this randomly or you just wanted to see simulations, you’e welcome. Also, have you found your socks yet?

@@Zarincos It does simulate temperature. The tidal stress heats up the body but not enough to make it visually glow.
im super hyped if this is coming to universe sandbox
It’s been there for a while now, not in this way but Roche limits been there for like 1yr
You can't do this sort of simulation in real time just yet..
Maybe when tech gets super advanced this could happen
@@shebahammyI mean you can run this kind of stuff in real time with modern computers, normally just locked at 1 sec/sec
Or: how to split a planet into 5 parts. Amazing simulation!

Oumouamua (or something like that interstellar asteroid) explanation?
Would you be interested in simulating rotational breakup of planets?
Lovely.

yes, it's possible.
0:54 oh no more baby planets
0:33 It looks like a planet haumea shaped or is varuna

It's possible, but difficult, and the simulation resolution is going to be limited by VRAM a lot.
HELL. Why not make it use both??? Imagine the power of the CPU and GPU combined! Im no programmer tho so maybe thats not possible.
Bro became oumuamua

Where can I get the software I wanna benchmark my CPU
See video description
Wouldnt that just be a moon entering the broche limit?
What's the song used in this video called?
