Thank you for what you do..😁
Great review! Looks like a well designed battery, only thing missing is a heater function for use in cold climates :^)
Hoi will.
Do you know if the lipo4 and lead battery both can set on ground .
Reason is this.
When installing an electrical installation on board a ship, it is important to prevent galvanic corrosion. Galvanic corrosion is the eating away (corroding) of metal under the influence of an electric current.
Victron and other company's tell me that i have to set the minus of the battery all of them on the ground plate of the boat .
Problems is that by mix set nothing is tell about it.
I have contact victron about it a week
ago and still no answer over this .
A boat is beult by
Din / iso 10133
Or
Iec 60092-507/2
Alle ac and dc ground connection have to be in one point .
The lipo4 is not connect on a dyno .
Its connect by solar power or battery charger.
Thank you if you will look in to this.
Your coupon code has the following error on the trolling motor model "WILLIAMPROWSEIV couldn't be used with your existing discounts. You already have a better combination."
I would love for you to test the "new" Enjoybot battery! I bought it after your review for the older one without low temp protection. Happy so far but would be nice to see your tear down for that
Having you cut open, inspect, and test this equipment makes me feel much better about purchasing! Thank you!
I have a li time 200ah, and a Amphere time 200ah on my trailer with 2 separate systems. Love there product line and dependable. I’m in Arizona in the winter and have no issues with temperatures. Will buy the new low temperature cutoff ones after watching this video once they wear out.
He's not verifying that the cells are actually LiFePo. The manufacturer could have used conventional cells
@@KSCPMark6742 my battery analyzer plots the data on a graph and I can clearly see it's LiFePO4. Very obvious. I have videos that cover the difference four years ago. If it wasnt lifepo4, that would be the first thing I would be covering haha
@@KSCPMark6742'conventional cells' don't have that kind of energy density, broskie.
@@my_channel_44 That's incorrect. Conventional lithium ion cells have more storage capacity and are cheaper than LiFePo. Customers are willing to pay more for LiFePo products so the manufacturers could just claim that's what they are. That's why I'm asking. If he's doing a teardown, why not verify?
\
Thanks for returning to some old school 12v Lifepo4 reviews for us low-budget peeps, feels like old times :)
Don't forget there's always going to be people at every stage of battery (and solar) (and budget) needs.
Cheers for all you do to help enlighten us all!
I love how you get excited like a proud dad when manufacturers actually deliver what they promise.
Thanks for the review.
Thank you for this review. It is because of you and a few others who are willing to take the time for this kind of work that has caused the manufacturers to improve their products. It becomes obvious, even to the most incompetent manufacturer that they can't make sales of junk batteries. I can only wonder how many have gone out of business because of these tear downs. I'm sure many have improved their product and re branded. Evolution in action.
Purchased their 12v 200Ah a year ago and couldn’t get it to wake up after fully discharged, emailed support and they immediately sent me a new one. Great support.
That's Impressive
I purchased the same battery, had the same issue, and I had a rude sob email me back with horrible English trying to tell me that my charger was too small and not recommended.
When I got the battery to wake up, it was because I hooked up a 12v 1 amp charge to it, which restarted the BMS.
When I followed up with the rep about the BMS needing rebooting, he continued to say my charger was the issue. However I'm more apt to believe the battery overheated in my car while discharging on a cooler on a 98°f day.
He then proceeded to tell me never to hook up a 12v 1amp charger, although that's a very safe way to reboot the BMS.
Few things
1. My 100 amp hr battery has never had an issue with my 20 amp charger
2. I purchased a 40 amp charger for the 200 amp hr battery, that has a 12v 1amp BMS reset built in.
3. I'm not certain I'm getting full capacity out of this rebranded 200 amp hr battery. If I had a capacity tester I'd run it through the paces, but for certain the customer service rep I had was ZERO help
@@eckhardkoehler3013 they were right. you need at least 10A LiFEPO4 charger that is able to kickstart the BMS
Thank you! I'd really like to see one of the Walmart $266 100AH Chins opened up.
I just bought 4 of the 12v 230ah version. I waited a few weeks to order and unbelievably they added the low temp cutoff feature and did not raise the price...$669.29. Also I went online to see about coupons and found one that worked that was for $80.00 off!. What was even better is their delivery time...only 3 days (and I live in an extremely rural area). They are well packaged. Their user manual is also very thorough with only a few grammatical errors. Obviously I am very impressed by the company. If I ever have any issues I will add more.
Will I love watching you “nerd out” while testing these things. I’m smiling right along with you
We haven't seen you do a 12V battery review in a while. Great job.
Just wanted to say thank you for all you do. Your advice and info is solid and youve saved me many hours, money, and heartache from making the wrong purchases! Youre a saint!
I have a small solar system. I've been using two 12.8V, 200Ah, Ampere Time batteries for about 17 months. 2 months ago, I add two 12.8V, 200Ah Li Time batteries (25.6V, series-parallel). I have no complaints so far. The specs were not exactly the same, but very close. Thanks to Will for spending the time and money, doing research, so we don't have to.
I own 4 LiTime 12b 100Ah batteries for about 7-8 months and all four are doing great. I trust this brand!
It's always encouraging to see the price drop!
As always, another great video Will. Very thorough. I will definitely keep this brand in mind when shopping for new batteries
Very well made video! You cut right to the chase without making us sit and listen to and explain a long commentary, very much appreciate it and also very informative! I wish everybody would make videos like this LoL
You gave a great review on the Amperetime Batteries. I took that advice and have upgraded all my batteries to LiTime
I got 2 200ah bms batteries from them when they were Ampere Time. They've worked great. Better in winter when it's cold. I'm happy with them.
I would love to see a test and tear down of their 100ah “mini” battery.
Check out the 230amp as it has low temp, too and a 200amp BMS at around $600. Unless it being cheaply made this might be the best battery sold at this price. Let rip it open and find out.
Very impressed indeed! If this is their budget I can only imagine how well made their top of the line batteries could be. I'll definitely be looking into purchasing one
I have an "AmpereTime" battery and Redodo, tore each apart to make diy 24v battery, both built well with large beefy BMS. Used a JK for the new 24v build. Cells equalized quickly while sitting together in parallel and charge evenly, been happy with the quality of the cells.
❤ Thank you for your scientific mind and experiements. As a beginner, I can mostly follow your electrical logic. Thank you for the battery recommendation.
I bought this battery because I saw a youtuber review it. I use it in my Hammerhead pool cleaner, which uses a trolling motor and calls for a deep cycle battery. I've been using blue top Optimum batteries for 15 years, but they are so damn heavy. On and off the truck hitch, up and down stairs, to the pool and back, up to 25 times in a 12 hour day. I'm extremely happy with it being about HALF THE WEIGHT, never ran out of juice, and doesn't slow down as the day goes on. We'll see how long it takes my abuse.
Should literally last 15+ years.
@@my_channel_44Wow, an insight I've been looking for, best Lifepo4 Battery service Life assessment I have come across so far, is Lifepo4 batteries treated properly, is maximum 10 years Service Life tbh. a 15 year Service Live with Li Time ones slashes the Cost per year significantly . If Li Time will do 15 years, I'm in, otherwise I had planned to stick with High Quality AGM's as I know I can get up to 30 years from those, once you know how to treat them right - never let them get below an 80% state of Charge, and the Recharge Cycles Flatline and never drop, with Lifepo4 it's a 50% State of Charge to stay above, and don't charge above 85% Capacity or Fast Charge them, is best knowledge I have come across so far for Lifepo4. I'd really like to see how Li Time manual are now recommending Customers to treat their batteries tbh. It was Amperetime who told me discharge below 50% Capacity and you lose Recharge Cycles with Lifepo4. Things may be getting interesting ? 🤔 Best Wishes. Bob in Wales. 👍✨️✨️✨️
I am looking to buy a new battery for my 24v trolling motor I was wondering how this was holding up for you
just bought two more of these batteries. Thanks for the review. I'm feeling glad to know I didn't buy junk.
Another fun upbeat video, Thanks!
Impressive ! I have two of the 12v 100 amp Ampertime batteries with out low temp but have temp sensor to shut down . No problems so far and really more power than I need for our 15 foot camp trailer that is 100 percent solar !...Love it Learned everything from Wills book , website , videos and his experts on the forum.
Wills book is indeed awesome. Very simple, straight forward and clear and consise.
I am thrilled to see this review as I recently purchased four of these TM 100 Ah Litime batteries for a reservation introductory price of $319. I received them about three weeks ago. They are a very nice looking battery and came packed about as well as anything could be. Very impressive manual packed in a nice silicon zip pack. I am using these for a portable solar generator I am building with two suitcase 200 watt panels and a 2000 watt inverter. My only mistake was not thoroughly thinking things out. I started the project with a 12v sytem in mind but later realized I could easily had gone 24 V. I still can, the only purchase I would have to make is another inverter but I will run 12v for now. The inverters I am looking at run close to $300 so I will just live with what I have for now. It would have been so much easier and neater to run the smaller cable.
Use the forum to avoid mistakes.
thanks for testing this brand. i bought 2 with the old name over 9 months ago. they performed very well. i actually load test one of the with a 55W light and lasted for over 26H. i did pull out 1100W/h and it was rated 1200 W/h. i will by 2 more for my small 12v off grid setup.
Does this account for the inverters efficiency %?
Great video. Thanks Will.
Love this! Thank you for doing these teardowns
Thanks Will ! TAKE CARE..
I bought 2 of these bad boys months ago. Great review.
I just keep watching your videos. Wrapping my head around building a house system for a 40’ sailboat.
The trolling on the battery throws me. I'm thing they would be fine in parrell for house bank?
Thanks for that great review...I am going to buy 2 !
Great job man. Funny to see your doubt turn to genuine love of the product.
Good thing. I just bought 2 of those last week 😊
Thanks, Considering buys two of those
just ordered, thanks for all you do..
Li is for LiFePO4 I guess. Got one February and love it.
Thank you Will!
One more feature... honesty. They made a mistake advertising their 12V 230AH low temperature protection battery for $664.99 so they gave it to me for that price. They meant to link to unit without low temperature protection.
Again thank you for recommending Li Time.
I have two Ampere Time 100 Amp about one year old now and just purchased two Li-Time 100 Amp batteries a few months ago. The first two Ampere-Time batteries have been cycling to about 50% levels daily for a year fault free. The two new Li-Time are to increase the total amp hour rating of my 12 volt system. All four of my LiFePO4 batteries lack of low temp cutoff. To get around the lack of I have a simple external temp probe taped to the outside of the battery case with the monitor set to trip at 4 degree C which turns ON or OFF the Solid State Switch between the solar panels and the MTTP charge controller. The 50 Amp Solid State Switch with heat sink and temp. probe with monitor was about $50.
Another awesome tear down and review! Thank you. I might just buy this model.
Picked up a few last month for a trolling motor, so far so good.
What marine charger do you use?😊
I did a research, they seam to be great batteries. Thank you for testing it great work .
Great review. Thank you for doing this!
@WillProwse I’m content with my (6) 100ah Weize batteries that you previously reviewed… but it’s good to know that LiTime is evolving
Very informative thank you for sharing this six stars
Been using two (200AH) in parallel for a 15 mos now . Not a problem .
Thanks Will!
just set up a stand alone 12v system for ham radio. I went with eco-worthy products. 3 100ah batteries in parallel, 40 amp mppt , 1100 watt invertert and only 400 watt pannels. so far so good. thank you for getting me motovated try this out. Been watching your videos for years now.
Thank you for all of the info you put out !!!!
I would like to go off grid but crap! it is expencive.
Thanks Will
Your expansive testing is impressive along with your vast knowledge , im happy to know that I bought a great battery in the eyes of Will Prowse .Thanks Will for sharing your intelligence with us all😊
Love the cheap battery test. Keep up the good videos!
This is good to know since I just outfitted my TT with 2 of those and hooked to a 3000W pure sine invertor charging with 300W solar up by Wrights Lake, CA for a week and never once had any issues.
What brand of the 3000watt inverter did you buy? I have 180watts off solar on my 5th wheel rv and I was thinking of starting out with one 12v 100ah mini with a 3000watt Renege inverter and add a 2nd battery down the road. I don't want the 3000watt inverter be too much for 1 battery. I'm replacing 2 Deka acid batteries.
wow! Your videos are the best. Thanks🙃🙂🙃 for Sharing
I've got 4 of the previous Amperetime/Litime's and no complaints yet. No reason to change for basic everyday non-critical systems.
I bought the bigger one (230 Amp Hour)... and installed it in the pocket in my truck bed in front of the drivers side rear wheel left open from my slide out bed. I have a 5000 watt inverter and a battery doctor to keep the battery from pulling my starting batteries down too low. I have a permanently installed 40 Amp charger for when I don't have a loooong drive for my two alternators to be able to charge this fast enough. I use it to charge my Sony Battery Station for my drone. I got the basic ones, (two of them) without cold weather protection and returned them immediately for the 230 amp hour one. They took great care of me and were easy to deal with. Very impressed with the company, product and customer service.
Impressive value.
100 bucks cheaper for a limited time it looks like. Went ahead and got one because of the low temp protection. Amazing deal for the price. Thanks so much for the reviews and information! - Shane
Man this company is impressive!
(still prefer their previous name though)
Im glad they beefed up their BMS
I have my eye on their 460Ah monster for my Vanlife build.
Great video, and much appreciated review Will! Thank You.
Your videos re so educative am learning a lot thank you
Very interesting stress test and results..
Great video Will! I recently made a video with the 50Ah version of this battery and I was curious to see inside one of them. No I know!
Across the board this is good. Thumbs up 👍
That's enough to make me think about dumping my 6 6 volt LAB for 3 of these in my RV.
Excellent review
Well this is definitely an excellent review! Mainly the test process used but also the fact that the product lived up to it's claims. Hopefully that particular battery is representative of the performance of each one they produce.
It is. I have another brand name using the exact same generic battery - with exactly the same specs and it works as shown here.
That's probably why a lot of these different batteries look the same it's the same company just different brands
Appreciate this info……. Bought 3 of these direct from their web site to power a 36v trolling motor …….
Just got one for trolling motor my lead acid is beat . Thank You 👍
My battery will arrive today so thank you
I’m beginning to feel better already 😅
Thank you for doing some testing on batteries that RV'rs would use.
Looking forward to a follow up on this. I will eventually need to upgrade my Ryobi riding mower from lead acid batteries to LFP.
Test their mini 12V 100AH version too, seems neat for portable use, like on small sailboats etc. Compact and a bit less weight.
Will, this does look like a decent battery, be sure to buy another one off their page anonymously to make sure they didnt send you a peak quality build...
I like the huge surge bms they offer.
Lets hope they can produce a 48V model!
Thanks for another great video!
I've been running my off-grid cabin on two of their 12V 200AH (in series to 24V) for the last 2.5yrs with no problems at all. A neighbor also bought them and we contacted support in China over an issue and they got right back to us. Ampere, uh I mean, Li Time seems to want to compete with the better known manufacturers.
Great video!
LiTime sells return and used batteries on their website. I purchased a used 230Ah battery for $577 w/free shipping, tested out at 234Ah on my tester that I have calibrated. Also put it in my Featherlite stacker car hauler to try the lift, it had no problem pushing 255 Amps for about 6-8 seconds running the lift. Only a short run because I had to stop the lift (it had a car on it and would have hit the ceiling). I also ran the A/C on my camper for about 1 1/2 hours pulling 130-140 amps without issue. I'm very happy with this LiTime battery..
Good review and tempting...
I would want 4 in series, and a method of balancing them, which would require another specialist 14v balancer if it exists,
or disassembling for the cells, making a new battery with extra 16S LFP BMS.
Nice review. I'm in the process of building a battery enclosure for my '95 Suburban but will have very limited space. Right now, I'm leaning towards the SOK 12V/100 battery due to its small footprint...of course, its $200 more than this battery. May have to take a second look at my available space to see if this Li Time battery will work for me...its about 3" longer than the SOK.
Don't know how Battle born stays in business @1000$ a pop.
there are still a lot of consumers that look for american made products, that is battle born's customer base.
@@marzsit9833 The cells are not American made. They are just assemble here. Look at their stocks.
Boomers will keep repeating nonsense ad hominem
Just bought a pair of these for 620.00 plan to swap 4 rolls sl16 for a 24v
At $1,000 a pop they only need to sell 30% of the volume to make the same gross revenue
I picked some of these up on Black Friday discounts at $250 each. For the low temp trolling motor - a steal.
I just install 4 mini’s 🤞 hope there just as good.
they have a mini , same battery smaller case. they have been working well in my kyak
Hey Will. LiTime just released a 12V 230AH with low temp protection, in a relatively slim form factor. It would be sweet to see your input on those as well! Thanks for all the great content.
I just bought it. Because they made an advertising mistake they gave it to me for $664.99.
I recently got the 12V 230ah which has a 200 amp BMS
Me too. I got 4 of them for the RV. Haven't really put them through their paces yet though.
I have ( 4 ) the Amperetime 100Ah batteries. They have worked without any issues for me. I only draw them down to 97% each night, and then recharge to 100% in a couple of hours,
Hi! I have Battleborns and have a hard time getting the two 100 amp batteries below 90% and we use a microwave! However. Hugh at Battleborn told me to get them down to at least 80% to keep them healthy. We had to shut off the panels for two days to draw them down😅
Dud your videos are spot on!!!!!
I'm doing a small solar setup. I went ahead and took the plunge and got their mini 100ah battery, their 30a mppt controller and their 2000w inverter. So far, so good. Inverter is quite loud--fan is all or nothing, but it works and feels beefy. I will say that their manuals are all really good--good English and a lot of information. I get the feeling that they're trying to corner the market in terms of Chinese products and I think they're doing a good job of it thus far.
Chengrish?
How much did the lot set you back? I have a wind generator I'm looking to set up with potentially a battery like this
As with many inverters, if a $20 fan is used in the build, instead of a $2 fan...it can be much quieter. Down the road when your fan gets too noisy, see if a quality computer fan can be installed. You will be amazed at the difference in sound level.
This one is high on my list of choices. Video is well timed…thanks youtube algorithm!
I picked up a weize 100ah 12.8v LIFEPO4 with low temp cutoff, and built in heating for under $400. I know you've taken a couple of their base models apart, but would love to see you take apart the heated model.
I just tried to order this battery via your link. LiTime offered an amazing (pre-sale offer?) discount of $30 which caused me to "pull the trigger". The price "jumped" back up to $369 when I checked out via PayPal so with taxes it just became too expensive for my budget. I did not complete the sale. I am so sad the website is not 100%..In any case, thanks for the great video Will.
Wonder why they are calling it a trolling motor battery. Seems like a solid rv battery for sure. I’ll be getting 2 of them. Thanks for the awesome review. You’re the man!
I wondered about that too. Are they OK to use in an RV?
Good video. Interesting.
I almost bought one. I bought NewtiPower 100ah instead for my camper. I plan on two batteries & at least 2000 watt inverter. So far my bench testing has been good.
I'd love to see a review of one of the new "mini's" on the market. There are several that look like they come from the same shop, but with bluetooth and low-temp cutoff. I think the RV'rs among us really want the monitoring feature.
Nice review. The only thing missing, imho, is bluetooth monitor so my phone could report SOC, Watts in/out etc.
Hello Will. Love all your videos. I would like to see a breakdown of the Li Time 100AH MINI battery. What is the difference between it and the larger model with the same specs?
I don't understand the name change either, LiTime almost sounds like they're trolling us (lie time?? time for lies??). Great testing - I think they're my favorite in the budget category at this point. Also, all the clone 12V 100Ah are getting pretty boring lol.
Not that it would be any better but maybe it is suppose to be like pronouncing Lithium without the thium. But yes, marketing people from China have absolutely no concept of catchy names. I mean, what the hell is Redodo mean anyway? And whats up with Power Queen?
@@explorenaked That's exactly how it's pronounced - li without the thium - per an email from the company. The problem is nobody sees it that way when reading it lol.
Review the HSQ charge controllers with low temp cutoff that would make a cool video
It pronunciation is lee😢 lithium ~
I've spent a lot of money on Battle Borns in the past, so when I got my newest camper I figured I'd give Li Time a try based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews. I bought their 300ah and it's been nothing short of impressive. Let's see, $2399 for a 270ah Battle Born or $1079 for a 300ah Li Time. It's a no-brainer in my opinion. Sure it doesn't have temp protection but I don't care because I'm a warm weather camper.
The new 230 Plus does for $600. Get two for $1200 and have 460ah. Also low temp cut off and 200amp BMS Crazy pricing if you ask me for what you are getting
No low temp cutoff on the 230. I keep WAITING for it to get it but it's not there yet unfortunately.
@@stevewilliams2308it says low temp on it now.I bought 2 for $1270 delivered.I bet low temp is in it after Will called bs a year ago because they advertised it but it didn’t have it.Shoulda been a recall.
LiTime email today boast this vid of Wills.I think they know they couldn’t get away with another lie😅 Wonder why only 101 amps unlike 104 for others.
Hobo showed 235 amps on the new smaller 230 plus
