Watching you play this relatively casually finally motivated me to give Hard a try. Like you said in Twilight of the Gods - your macro doesn't have to be perfect, just keep pushing.
So the screen flashes completely white with the lightning... that must be absolute hell for people who get seizures

I actually like to have both kinds of missions on the same map. You could even make it so you need to progress in one to continue the other. Like: Heroe group gets the gold for building army, but there are some invulnerable doors that stop you; and your army in the base has to clear some enemy bases to open the doors.

I'm wondering why was there a need for that one dislike? It's not about the gradation of video quality, but about playing with a dose of OCD that I have xD... (Of course, the video quality is awesome if you ask me, it's completely normal to dislike a video, this is youtube.)

Is it just me or is the patch that makes Maiev say "FAN OF KNIVES!" every time she uses it, pretty weird?
Also it sounds like they changed voice actors for that. Almost sounds like a male.

Blizz didn't found Debi Mae West, so they asked Jay to do the voice line... and they didn't even put him on the credits...
Thanks for the video the limited income sucks but once you get more hold from mediv good to go I’ve run out of gold building too many ancient protectors
Time-stamps
2:10 - Get some upgrades early for archer, huntress, dryad, and Druid.
2:28 - Train two wisps.
3:07 - Get the upgrade for mana spring
3:34 - Unite your base forces, have a Druid go into bear form.
3:53 - Have Maiev teleport back to base, towards the southern front. Train some more weapon and armor upgrades.
4:53 - Train some more ancient protectors for the southern end, build four more for a total of six on that front.
5:08 - Have Maiev go south from the base to get two secret scrolls and some gold. Skip fighting the guards and Blink ahead. When she reaches the gate, don’t fight the guard, just destroy the gate. After grabbing the gold coins, Blink to the stream of water from the gold room, grab the secret tomes, then teleport back with the staff.
5:27 - Train a dryad, train three more wisps.
5:36 - Build two more Protectors on the northern front.
5:45 - Build another moon well on the northern front.
6:38, 7:50 - Have Maiev regroup with her Runner forces. Go south to attack some Naga to get the Staff of Negation and some gold. (Apparently, you can use the Staff of Negation to cancel a hurricane, then drop it afterwards.)
7:42 - Train two more Protectors on the northern end of the base.
8:00 - Build an… Ancient of War on the eastern side of your base. Strange.
8:22 - He lost some guys and ran out of lumber, so he’s going to generate five more wisps.
As well, in the Ancient of War, get some class upgrades for the Archer and Hippographs.
Make sure you have some archers for anti-aerial units.
9:34 - Attack the second quest-enemy, lead with Maiev.
10:02 - The quest-enemy seems to retreat into the cave.
10:30 - Train a Protector on the southern end.
10:40, 10:45 - Train some archers and Druids of the claw. Train another upgrade.
11:25 - Attack some more Naga, grab the Glyph of Fortification to strengthen your buildings.
12:00 - Staff of Negation for the next hurricane.
12:20, 12:33 - Train two more upgrades. Since the enemy-hero shows up in the north, build two more Protectors. When the goldmine collapses, have those wisps gather lumber.
12:47 - Should be training more archers.
13:20 - On your base, the bears should be up front, with the dryads and/or archers behind.
13:32 - Have a wisp repair a Protector in the South.
14:06 - Build another Protector in the South.
14:16 - Have Maiev and one Hippograph go back to the first quest-enemy area, drop the Staff of Negation. (The Hippograph lights the area for Maiev’s Blink.) Blink across, attack the gate.
14:50 - Maiev will have to fight an infernal. At this point, she may have Vengeance. Use that!
15:12, 15:23 - When the Vengeance sprite is summoned, have Maiev retreat with the Staff of Teleportation, restore health with a Wellspring. Meanwhile, the infernal should be fighting the Vengeance sprite. When the Staff of Teleportation is ready, you can use it to Teleport back to the Vengeance sprite.
17:20, 30:46 - Your base army should have four or five bear Druids, at least three transformed.
22:06 - Also, several archers, preferably eight or nine.
18:06 - Get on the boats!
19:55 - Attack the naga. Have a Hippograph fly over after the fight so Maiev can Blink to get a tome.
20:55 - Can the runner heal the Hippographs?! o_O
21:08 - Progress forward with Maiev’s group, take out the advance forces before the boats can advance with the runner.
22:08 - Grab two wisps off the trees to repair both Protectors all around.
30:28 - Grab the Slippers of Agility with Maiev’s Blink, drop the Staff of Teleportation.
They changed the Orb of Slow to a Rusty Mining Pick...ok.
Such strange and arbitrary things they chose to change

I always found the timescale between this mission and the next really bizarre. If memory serves me, the runner managed to get back to Malf and Tyr, they managed to raise a small army and set sail, and arrive at the broke isles in just a few days, when it should have taken a couple weeks, if not longer. How close are the isles the continent? Because if they're that short of a boat ride away, I'm surprised no one found them prior to now.
According to the mission loading screen of map 2 the broken isles are actually literally about a day's sailing away from Kalimdor. Probably retconned again later in WoW.
I suppose they are close, since it was a kind of Night elf city before. They didn't notice the isles because they were confident on their knowledge gathered over milenia so they didn't care to explore on the last few centuries, or something like that, I guess.
@@SevenBlood WoW is inconsistent with sailing times, but it seems that traveling from Kalimdor to Eastern Kingdoms takes at best a few days - Northrend and Pandaria seem farther but the ice and/or mists may account for that.
Do remember that there is a button such as hold position
That lightning effect is even worse for my eyes in Reforged. In classic it felt more subtle and less aggressive. Do you think that it is possible to turn the effect off? I am going to play this mission myself.
It's possible that turning down weather effects in video settings would fix it.

What the hell happened to the portrait of the pendant of energy (Look at the difference in it between this mission and the one before)
In the previous mission my friend he had a pendant of mana not energy which is why they look different .
To be fair March of the Scourge was also kinda like this in a way
How did you finish this campaign without crashing... I literally couldn't finish this campaign because it keeps crashing shortly after loading...
that's the older patch 1.32 during the recording, because Reforged was recently released during that time......

Nice video Jay as always, but once again you missed the same secret you did in your hard difficulty playthrough in classic: at the very bottom right of the southern base there was an other canal where you could get a mantle of inteligence and a rune . I know that this item is not very good for maiev especially when there are other better items to get so you could say why bother with that, but you didnt even mentione d it to simply inform viewers of it's existance for those who would be interested in obtaining it, which leads me to the conclusion that you didnt know about it at all :).
You figured it out Jay 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂. I never said you should have gotten that item, but simply to mention it for anyone else that might be interested in it. Also Jay you are wrong that spot is reachable with level 3 blink .
16:39 I could’ve sworn Dragon Turtles had Siege damage and Fortified armor. Did they change this when Reforged came out?
Edit: It seems that they have two separate attacks now and did indeed lose the Fortified armor for Heavy. I guess having them be fortified was giving people nightmares.
Iirc in the classic they have heavy armor too
Dragon Turtles have Heavy armor since The Frozen Throne, which remains the same in Reforged & the reason why you assumed the Dragon Turtle has Fortified armor it's because it has Hardened Skin, a passive ability that reduces damage taken from enemy attacks, does not reduce damage from spells......

Jayborino. Stop wasting resources on repairing your ancients. It's better you unroot and eat tree for the ancients recovery. It saves resources better.

It's ancient protectors' aoe damage finishing those couatl in close succession.
Maiev's avatar of vengeance uses a generic warden's model and the interlude uses lordaeron terrain wtf
That interlude has always been like that. Never made any sense to me, figured Reforged would address such things.
