Oh god this breaks me. I think this is a true heartbreaker. Love the music and particularly this new song. I think it proves a point where this is just as good as the other songs.
this is amazing. i find this song and the whole revival creates a new ellen so people will like her... now that i've seen her though portrays ellen's frustration perfectly
@@anneboleyn4175 exactly. I think this song is absolutely gorgeous because let's face it, they write glorious music. But .... I don't want to be led to feel sorry for Ellen. Ellen doesnt need to be liked. I like the conflict the audience goes through with Ellen. I think the hotel room scene in the old version with Now That I've Seen Her is just more interesting and passionate. But what do I know?
(Ellen) Help me Am I fooling myself If I've already lost you? Nothing's changed, you're still mine, We can try to ignore this. But if she has come back in your life, Well then maybe, you were never mine. And yet my heart cries maybe, It's a trick, it's a lie, She's just trying to use you But I looked in her eyes: It could kill her to lose you, And maybe, just maybe you need her too. Back when we met, You were broken and wild, And I held you at night, and I ached when you cried. But despite what we lacked, We tried staying on track, no regret, yet, Maybe it was fate That suddenly brought her back to you, And your love was true love, Before I even knew you, If the life of your dreams, Is the life she is giving, Should I be the one to stop your dream from living? If you're hers, then be hers, And forget about me now. I've been blind for so long, That perhaps I can see now, And maybe, just maybe, I'll find the strength I need to set you free now, I'll be strong, I'll stand firm, So my tears won't betray me, But my heart might just break, If what may be, may be.
This is a beautiful song but I like the Ellen who says "I know what pain her life today must be/ But if it all comes down to her or me, I don't care. I swear I'll fight".
@@royperez8965 I completely agree with you! This song sounds like it is from another show. Now That I've Seen Her or even Her or Me is a better song for expressing how Ellen is feeling at this moment in the show.
I was meant to have a her fist understudy carolyn maitland but she messaged me through my Twitter and informed me that I was gong to have 3rd cover Ellen Claire Parrish she was not bad ither got to admit I am just waiting for DVD of the 25th anniversary performance as I did not get to see the original 2014 cast it is confirmed for DVD but no release date I am hinting it will release for Xmas also don't forget u can see the 25th anniversary performance on October 16th 2016
It's a beautiful song & I'm taken back that in this song, Ellen is thinking about letting Chris go so he could truly be happy with Kim. However, I like Her or Me better than this song.
She's great at the moment in Sunset Boulevard. She's good here too - much better than the original - Tamsin Carroll. She was certainly not good the day I saw her.
I saw understudy Siobhan in previews and I was at press night and saw Tamsin Caroll. Siobhan was miles better...and Tamsin felt way too old for the role
I don't think this song is that good. Leave Miss Saigon the way it was. "There I will crown Miss China town " is a funnier ending than "soon you will buy it from me". The hookers were not crying in the original version of "Movie in my Mind". They acted more realistic.
"If you're hers, then be hers, and forget about me now", the feels! my tears just fell down.

This song and her voice just rips my heart out. Emotional.

Ellen has always been a loveable character.
People just had to understand her character.
I've always loved her as much as Kim.

@@singerAR0406 but I do like Ellen.
I've always had sympathy for her. Even with the original song.
@@anneboleyn4175 yes, I am agreeing with you! =)

Help me
Am I fooling myself
If I've already lost you?
Nothing's changed, you're still mine,
We can try to ignore this.
But if she has come back in your life,
Well then maybe, you were never mine.
And yet my heart cries maybe,
It's a trick, it's a lie,
She's just trying to use you
But I looked in her eyes:
It could kill her to lose you,
And maybe, just maybe you need her too.
Back when we met,
You were broken and wild,
And I held you at night,
and I ached when you cried.
But despite what we lacked,
We tried staying on track, no regret, yet,
Maybe it was fate
That suddenly brought her back to you,
And your love was true love,
Before I even knew you,
If the life of your dreams,
Is the life she is giving,
Should I be the one to stop your dream from living?
If you're hers, then be hers,
And forget about me now.
I've been blind for so long,
That perhaps I can see now,
And maybe, just maybe,
I'll find the strength I need to set you free now,
I'll be strong, I'll stand firm,
So my tears won't betray me,
But my heart might just break,
If what may be, may be.
Saw Siobhan twice, and she was incredible.
The nuances of her rendition made me cry 😣

Me too. =)
Now that I’ve seen her was a way better Ellen song…this new song feels like it was cut and pasted from another show.

so stunning better than the first one!
I cried in this part
Gutted I never got to see her. She is the best Ellen. She was off sick the three times I saw it

1 dislike? Don't be so spiteful, Kim.
Peter Lewys Preston Hahahaha
Kim is now a spiteful soccer mom
She's amazing but Now That I've Seen Her will always be Ellen's song
beltingtokra actually the original song for ellen was "it's her or me"...

Actually these are the original lyrics :
Who says I'm hurt

Then it was It's her or me and then Now that I've seen her.
When I saw the musical first it was still It's her or me.
She's great at the moment in Sunset Boulevard. She's good here too - much better than the original - Tamsin Carroll. She was certainly not good the day I saw her.
RIP Chris Peluso
Omg I didn’t know this!!!!
@ yup he had psychological issues
What key is this in?
F Major into G major for the key change
I saw understudy Siobhan in previews and I was at press night and saw Tamsin Caroll. Siobhan was miles better...and Tamsin felt way too old for the role
we used to call her 'Chris's mum' ;) haha
Different from it’s her or me. A more compassionate helen now.

I don't like this song nearly as much "Now That I've Seen Her.". I think the prostitutes crying is realistic, though.
