HeatherWrightArt unfortunately you can’t. There would be a compatibly issue which would cause stress in the glass and it would crack. But you can always try it. 😁

I have had cracking issues when I didn’t use high fire wire which is meant for embedding in fused glass. I believe in this video I show Handy Hanger which is made with high fire wire.
Hi Susan. I really like your videos. Is it possible to use a hand drill on my pieces to make a hole in my pieces after they've been kilned?.My pieces are about the size you're showing on this video.Not an electric drill.
Karen Szczytko thank you! Great question. Any bit you want or whatever you have. Sometimes I use the ball bit but sometimes I use the cone bit. It all depends on what’s in my Dremel when I need it. 😁
What Dremmel attachment and grit do you use to rough up your pieces? Also, do you use your regular oven for the curing or do you have one just fircuring because of fumes/food contamination danger? Thank you so much. 😊
I use whatever attached is closest to my hand. I’m not particular. I usually cure the glue in my airfryer/oven so I don’t need to heat up my big oven. When I cure the glue I have not ever noticed any smell. But if you’re concerned you can cure the glue in your kiln.

jbrondos just about anything small will work in a microwave kiln but you know your microwave better than anyone else so you’ll have to do some tests to get the perfect schedule.

Sharon Edmonds it sounds like there is something wrong with the kiln. Possibly the thermocouple or the elements or the relay. It could even be the connection between those items. Call the kiln manufacturer for guidance. They are usually very helpful and can sell you any replacement parts you need.
Hi Susan. Thanks for the great information. I received some gallery pendants for Christmas and just fused a 1" square of dichroic to a 1" square of white glass. It came out of the kiln too thick to be placed into the pendant. Can you tell me how you are creating squares that slide in so nicely? Thanks!!
MegaDrea72 I’ve found that when I fuse a single piece of glass that is 1”x1” the center wants to dome and that makes it difficult (not impossible) to put in the Gallery Pendant frame. So I usually make my glass in larger “blanks” (I like to call them) and cut the pieces out with a wet saw. Then fire polish. Although fire polish is not necessary if it’s being put into a Gallery Pendant. But there is a way to use the square of glass you already have even if it’s too thick in the middle. Just remove the face of the Gallery Pendant, (yes, it comes apart) place the glass piece against the inside of the front frame (so the thick middle is bulging thru the frame opening) and slide the back of the frame back on. When programming a digital kiln you first enter how many degrees per hour, in this case 500F. That means after 1 hr the kiln should be at 500F. After 2 hrs the kiln temp should be 1000F and so on. In this case I wanted the top temperature to be 1425F so at 500F per hour it would take about 2 1/2 hrs. (Remember it will he starting at room temp, about 75F). Then you will need to wait for the kiln to completely cool down before opening. I hope that all makes sense. (I’m sorry it took SO long for a reply. Sometimes I don’t get notified by TH-cam)
kees staps black backed Dichroic should be easy but clear backed Dichroic is a little tough. I show how to find the coated side in a few of my videos. Why do you put the finished piece with the glue in it in the oven. Doesnt the glue burn off.

It’s something I learned years ago. The low temp sets the glue. I tested several glues & techniques and this one was the best.

How about using an eye from a hook and eye set. They are inexpensive from habbidashery. They make cute little loops.

Ellen Murphy you can definitely drill a hole. My advise is LOTS of water!!!

I just have one question. Why do you bake the E6000 after you let it cure for 24 hours?
Sandra Jusak that’s how I was taught to fully cure the glue.
