I find it hilarious how game from 2002 have animation for both entering and exiting vehicle while some modern games dont do that. Also vehicle physics are pretty decent.
At an average 30 fps GTA 3 feels very nice and fluid with Voodoo 3 2000. Constant 60 fps are not really needed to enjoy a game and GTA doesn’t need perfect precision and extremely fast reflexes like Counter Strike for example.
Aside pure 90s gaming, which is the reason people still bought them, Voodoo GPUs has a pretty weird color rendering with anything beyond early 00s (as example, GTA III itself). A Geforce4 MX440 or maybe a Radeon 9800 Pro is the key for very early 00s rigs and games (specially using a nice CRT).
@@AggressiveMenace of course GTA 3 runs much better on newer faster cards but back in 2002 a lot of gamers still had Voodoo 3 cards. GTA 3 still runs acceptable with the Voodoo 3 even if it was released more than 3 years before the game.
Thank you. 3 months ago the motherboard (KM266) of my main system died and I took a small break. Now I purchased and made a P3 Tualatin system but I had a lot of driver problems with this one too. Well at least its working :). GTA 3 runs very well and fluid on the V3 2000 with a fast P3 like the Tualatin, even if the average FPS is somewhere around 30.
Although it’s not running with 60 fps it still is very playable and feels very fluid. Not bad for the Voodoo 3 2000 a card released more than 3 years before GTA 3.
I'm surprised you got this game to run stable at all. My Voodoo 2 12MB could barely last for more than a few minutes before the driver ate it. I'll see if the GA-VDB16 (Voodoo Banshee for PC-9821) I'm waiting to arrive will fare any better.

GTA 3 was a very nice game for the year 2002.
@@3dfxvoodoocards6I still play it and I love it,also GTA Vice City. ❤️
@@AndreiTãtaruknowledgeWindows GTA 3 a fost excelent, Vice City chiar mai bun. Si mie mi-au placut amandoua foarte mult.

I remember my friend had a GTS 2 ULTRA ran gta3 this at 60fps. My mind was blown!
A Geforce 2 GTS or Ultra are much faster then a Voodoo 3. But the FPS also depends on the system, GTA 3 being very CPU dependent.
30fps back then-- And we didn't bitch and moan. Hell most of us were locked to 50hz displays

Welcome back 👍. Not bad Voodoo 3 2000 fon this strong title from 2002 in Direct3D

GTA 3. 🖥️🎮👍👍

Ce tare. Mi-amintesc ca am jucat III pe V3 3k sau 3500TV si se bloca dupa un scurt timp de gameplay.

With the Voodoo 3 it runs perfectly without crashing only on Pentium 3 systems and with the driver version 1.03.05. On what system did you run it ?

i can't see the diference =/ i probably have to play along side just to check ... the lightning and shadows are diferent ? i don't know =P
The Voodoo 3 is a DX6 card and its drivers are also outdated for GTA3, could be that the lightning and shadows look different than on newer cards.
Ps2 version?
