I've always wanted to see a continental giant getting the zoomie and binkying! I showed him to my wife and she fell in love with him immediately. We have 10 bunnies ourselves, but always wanted a giant at some point. How do they differ as a companion? Are they more or less maintenance?
I have 3 Flemish Giants 6yr female Magellan and her twin 5 yr old brothers, peter and Benjamin. If well handled Giants tends to be calmer then minis. Each has different personalities, mine for example have a fear of heights, and children. Magellan loves Benjamin they live together. But Peter doesn't like sharing space with his siblings, he likes playing with the young Jill I rescued recently.. my giant 6yr English lop female hate sharing a space with all 6 of my other buns . My 5yr old lionhead male is the same way . But my 7yr old fuzzy lop shares with anyone and everyone as long as they don't try bullying him, since his 2- 10yr old buddies died last month 2weeks apart. He's been depressed and lonely.. so I put him out with Magellan and Benjamin for socializing/ company. He's not able to be fixed so he can't be left alone with my girls unattended.. not that anyone of the 3 would let him get that far.. my Jill's beat the cocoa puffs out of my geldings for asking for adult bun cuddles. So I keep them paired/separated based on who their chill with. With Giants you are at risk of different health issues popping up, sore hocks can happen more if not on proper surfaces, some can still get them, simply due to size and age.. basic vet exams will be the same.. medicine will be more expensive due to most by weight doses.. and food cost as giants need more hay and leafy greens then a smaller bun would. Giant sometimes tend to be more playful because their not as afraid because of size differences between you and them , or sometimes even other pets.. you should be very if u have predatory pets, they can still get spooked and panic, by ur dog or cat if they surprise them possibly triggering a chase. Buns as a whole have sensitive hearts, a panic attack can trigger a heart attack.. this might be a issue for giants due to heart size vs animal size as rabbits by nature weren't meant to get that big .. But their ones of the best most loving pets you could get.. when you put it time and money 🤑 into them 😘
Do you know what the average area performance (in m²) of one of those huge bunnies as a natural lawnmower is to keep the lawn constantly short? I often thought about using them in residential areas (in a cozy hideout with fresh water or additional ecological hay roles in the winter times) as silent, ecological, economnomnomical and radically fluffy lawnmowers - especially in times where costs are kinda exploding. The big smart, silent and totally ecological bunny lawnmower could be a real innovation in times like these. (\_/)

We haven’t mowed the lawn in 7 years and we have three buns over 4.5b kilos. I think our grass area is about 30m2
