    I 1st saw this, in I think 2017 in the Dominican Republic. All the cars - new and old were burning propane. All the fueling stations, had an attendee who would ask; gas or propane or both. I was amazed; a developing country was already using propane like that.

    Thanks for the LPG dual-fuel video. I would like to see you interview an LPG install mechanic about the technical details under the hood. Nice video.

    In Poland LPG is most popular. We use "italian dish" to refueling a tank.

    I just bought a crown vic that runs this same system. It was explained to me by the fleet manger I got it from that the system fools the factory ford computer into thinking it’s running off gas. The electronics for the system simply “piggy backs” off the ford computer. Removing requires removing the electronics(looks like about a dozen wires that tap into the ford harness) and yanking the tank, lines, injectors, etc. I can tell no difference in the way the car runs and drives weather it’s on gas or propane. One huge benefit to me is that on propane you get less engine wear. Car has 70k miles and the oil stays brown between changes.

    What is the cost of propane where you live? It's not that much cheaper. What does it cost to convert a vehicle to propane Possibly you could do à video about converting one over with the cost breakdown. Thanks!😊

    I don't know why propane has never caught on. I had a brother-in-law that worked for a propane company 25 years ago and yes he ran his pickup on propane back then.

      +Theredneck Prepper I have never really thought about that before but If you had the proper fittings yes, but you would have to make sure that you were tapping into the vapor port not the liquid port. I think you just gave me an idea for a new project, I think I might try that.

    • @Everythingpropane9507

      My employer bought that car already converted but the total cost is anywhere around $1500.00 - $5000.00 depending on the type of vehicle. However, right now where I am at the cost of gasoline is $2.49 per gallon while Propane motor fuel is $1.65 per gallon. So eventually it will save you money in the long run.

    Why can't the car be warmed up on propane? Is there a heat issue?

    • @MrEric_API
      @MrEric_API 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The vaporizer needs the heat of the engine coolant to work ( convert lpg to vaporized propane).

    What's the fuel economy hit with LP? I know it's energy density is quite a bit lower than that of 87 Octane. I'd assume it's anywhere from 25-50% worse fuel economy.

    • @arnemaeschaelck5012
      @arnemaeschaelck5012 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, no, no! Depending on where you're driving, you'll have to take about 10-20% worse fuel economy into account.
      When just coasting at say 50 mph, it'll be closer to 10%, on the highway or in the city, it'll be about 20%. I don't know about the U.S., but since autogas is like 3 times cheaper than gasoline in Europe, it definitely pays off.

    There are a lot of negative issues. Hot weather problems, fueling issues. I drive them a lot. One word for the best reason to not convert : reliability.

    • @Everythingpropane9507
      @Everythingpropane9507  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Taylor Richard I have driven one everyday for 12 years and have never had a problem. A lot of times it depends on the conversion kit, some work great and others are not worth anything.

    • @arnemaeschaelck5012
      @arnemaeschaelck5012 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How so? Obviously, not every engine is made for autogas... some aren't even really made to run very long on gasoline until you're facing valve problems etc... but Dodge and RAM for example have been offering the 5.7 HEMI (V8) with autogas for a very long time now, and their engine can handle it very well! It's super reliable!
      Same with a lot of Volvo cars and Opel (Buick) / (smaller European) Chevy's.
      Kia's 3.3 V6 in the 2007-2009 Sorento for example, was a horrible engine for autogas. RAM for example gives you flashlube for free (so the valves stay lubricated), even though the HEMI doesn't even need it. Autogas is a great alternative! :)
