I think Deco was an generational talent with what I have seen he could have easily won a balqndor if he wasn't player in a era of goat strikers like Henry,CR7,Messi etc.

Even in that era he could have easily had one, came second to Shevchenko in 2004. Maybe unfair, he was a center piece in a strong Porto that had won Uefa Cup and Champions League in succession, he was at the top of his game then. Shevchenko was top scorer in Italy that season. Meh... Deco won his nickname The Magician in that team.

Well, he did play as a starter, troughout Reijkaard's spell. Together with Yaya and Ronaldinho. Xavi was a sub for him back then. So I wouldn't say he was underrated... That changed with Guardiola though

Was the reason xavi and insiesta were considered the best midfield duo because of their predecessor deco.
