I used to record Alec as a kid and try to emulate his every move. Had a kookaburra bubble just cus he used it. If he hadn’t kept wicket, I think England would have got a lot more. Such a legend.
As a Director of Cricket at Surrey, he was never afraid to roll his sleeves up and work with his players.. He has been a great servant ot Surrey, England and cricket generally. I have always admired him as both a palyer and a coach. I wish him well this season and for the future!
As a kid used to watch Alec Stewart play. While opening with Nick Knight he often used to shout 'Knight stay' when he felt there was no chance of a run on a ball he played.
Loving these regular weekly podcasts. Enriching, informative and fun. Sky Sports Cricket team of pundits are the equivalent of the 80s-90s Channel 9 team for the current generation. Big fan from Singapore. 👍
Like Nass's comment about "Essex being a feeder club" It runs counter to Alec's position that they bring their own players through. That just isn't true. He started by poaching a load of players from Worcestershire,. 3 in one season (Batty, Solanki and Davis) and has taken several more since. And that's just Worcestershire and Essex. They've hammered Somerset and other clubs as well.
@@jamescoupland131 Yes. That’s fine, but then he shouldn’t brag about bringing home grown talent through. Surreys pipeline has always been poaching the best from other clubs. Despite having one of the largest population bases and easily the largest budget.
Dear Nas, if you are producing documentary in Sri Lanka, you must visit to North and East to include the true challenges faced by people in that part of Lanka over the years since independent to really have a complete and true documentary. Otherwise it would be only a faction of truth. Good luck
Athers and Nas are the best commentary duo of this great game we played...kudos guys and keep going
Started watching this but just want to say that it is such a pleasure to see this three together.

As an English cricket fan in their mid 30s this WAS my childhood.
3 England captains together chatting, could listen to them all day long, great podcast
Good Man Alec much respect from Canada 🇨🇦
nice to watch all three legend in single frame 90's English backbone
Alec is an icon of English and Surrey cricket.
Lovely discussion with Alec Stewart 😊

Really enjoyed that chat. Excellent stuff!

Cracking interview……keep these coming
Alec Stewart is the most "English" of all english cricketers to have played for England.
I would have loved these three to have been involved in the england set up after they stopped playing 3 legends of english cricket
I`d love to see Alec in the commentary box or hear him on the radio, it`s always good to listen to the Gaffer
Fantastic. Give Stewey a weekly slot.
It would be nice to hear rants about what Rob Key has done wrong. Would definitely watch that!
Can’t wait to watch the documentary in the summer ❤️ thanks to sky cricket and Nass in advance.
The guvnor. A proper hero. Surrey legend.
Absolutely brilliant, really enjoyed that

Got money to chuck around and sign up people from across the country

I completely agree. You see it alot with Derbyshire and Leicestershire alot of those lads end up at Notts
Ollie Pope "nearer 50 than 40" average when he finishes tests. Bloody hell he only averages 35 after 40+ tests. 45 average is elite
The greatest broadcasters of all time - Salute the champions Athers and Nas! 👑
Really enjoyed.
Stewie. Legend not enough to capture what a man this is
This is better than watching a zillion IPL matches everyday.
Absolutely, three from the old school when cricket was cricket.
IPL lives rent free in your head
Meanwhile IPL has produced another thriller
You might be watching the wrong ipl my friend, because last i checked there's only one match most days.
Burnol moment for you , otherwise why else you would drag IPL on this ...
What an excellent man Alec is.
I think he is looking more for a lucrative IPL deal like Sangakkara for Director of Cricket Operations
Who wouldn't, could move himself and wife out to a nice spot in India
A joy to listen to
I see him in some capacity for Rajasthan Royals
Brilliant stuff

Stewart comes across as a consummate, no-nonsense professional but not necessarily a friendly chap as such
Makes such a difference having leaders in the sport of such coherence. Pretty sure that s lacking in football
I'm not sure many would question why you want to keep to 14 red ball games.
Damn I’m going to miss the Gaffer 🤎
Three shocking captains. Talk a good game though🤭.
I think that's harsh. In their era, the real problem was a lack of quality in the England squad, especially in the bowling department.
