      @@stevo6430 Most guys on the FDNY find these kinds of fires to be quite boring. They are long drawn out affairs that are basically a lost cause and doesn't really test one's firefighting skill or mettle.
      I knew a guy who referred to them as "hand-shaking fires." He'd bump into guys he hadn't seen for years and because of the type of operation there was often opportunity to talk.

    Looking on Google maps, that was a nice set of buildings. They looked very well kept for their age. With fire this strong, there's not much that can be done except to keep it from speading to other buildings.

      So sorry for your loss. Happened to me twice. Building was a total loss both times but the second time my cat survived unlike my 3 cats the first time

    odds are some of the wood in those structures was fat lighter which would explain the difficulty in putting it out.

      Only just got to this video, so really late response. Hard to tell, but given what I could see and hear on the video the 17 Bucket's stream may have been hitting other firefighters or showering them with debris, embers, or steam.

    NYFD & NJFD do they ever know what they are doing, always seems that they let whatever is burning to burn it to the ground then add some water and a few guys working with 100 others just watching like they never saw a fire before, smh

    Everytime I see a firefighter put water on a fire for a mere 2 minutes and then shuts off the hose and walks away
    ...that makes me fucking cringe. Keep the fucking water on the fire....
