For $289 (PNY 4060) it’s not bad. But if you are rocking a 3000 series. No need to upgrade. I own 7900 xt and a 4060 but might return and exchange it to 4070 fe for my itx build.

@@firstone7800 Guess, I'm smart. Payed $300 for a new one some months ago. It easily handles 1440p single screen and I can play most games on triple screens using some upscaling. For sim racing I want a beefier GPU, but fps/$, it just doesn't make sense atm. I play Assetto Corsa modded on triples, center monitor upscales 1080p to 1440p while both side panels upscale 720p to 1440p. With quite good quality settings, I can reach a stable 80 fps. Combined with motion blur and adaptive sync, it's a really smooth experience, yet, looking into the distance is not as sharp as it could be. Had the RX6900XT for testing before that, cost $1100 back then, a beast of a card, it could easily push 3x 1440p w/o upscaling at 90-110fps, but it's just not worth it. I undervolted my RX 6700 XT quite a bit, still managed a moderate OC. It now just draws 165 watts at max with stable frequencies. Air cooling brings it down to 60-65 degrees under full usage. If one doesn't need the fastest RT, I would definitly recommend RX series (yet, in Europe prices are going up, maybe have a look at the used market)
The RtX 4060 is actually a very cool graphics card. Yes, it's not very cheap, and not as productive as the 3070, but the 4060 has Dlss 3.0, which increases the performance of the video card by about 30%

It does outperform the 3070 with dlss on in 1080p tho. I get that it's not worth the same price as a 3070 when used, but if the 4060 was worth 150 dollars then the 3070 would be 160-155 at most

Even if that's the case, the 30 series dropped in price with the lower demand and the introduction of the 40 series. Sure power consumption might be a concern but for 99% of people it's a non issue. The 40 series is not a great leap for nVidia or gpus in general which is a shame after they killed it with the 30 series and I wouldn't be happy paying that much for a card that performs worse than last gens "mid-tier" offering.

@@hectoralmonte2036 no im being serious lol. without dlss 3.0 (3.5) the 4060 struggles more ofc - but i dont really game too much anymore outside of games with dlss 3.0 (3.5). the 4060 technically *IS* better with the newer features on dlss 3.5 and frame gen esp (or at least neck and neck with the 3070). and if i am wrong explain to me how i get a smooth 120fps on 1080p all ultra settings, ultra ray tracing too, quality dlss preset? only reason i bought a 4060 is how much cheaper it was during holidays but only in prebuilts. (although i can change the gpu very easily with this specific build). edit: this is mainly based around cyberpunk especially - because going from 1080 to 1440p (if using dlss 3.5) wont drop your frames as much as they do in this video and i saw more reviews specifically *WITH* it on that makes it a solid competitor (its like 10-20 frames above the 3070 with dlss 3.5 (with 3.5 there were major upgrades); but without it is usually 15-30 behind the 3070…so for me it doesn’t make a huge difference since it does what i need it to do. plus this is probably stock with no tweaks it depends too how many GHz the cpu is reaching and how much Vram you have as well. edit 2: i have also been told that Starfield doesn’t use all the new dlss features or any at all (could’ve changed though - i’m not sure); because i also get a cery solid 90-120 fps all ultra settings (except for one, i forget what it is but it wasn’t a very useful one), depending on the situation im in (fighting a big space battle/when im tryna loot one of those moon base camps that are abandoned and filled with and such. anywho, i have no reason to lie; it just confuses me that so many people hate it while it does the job pretty dam well for what i do. the only thing i haven’t tried, like i said: is 1440 or 4k. but i have seen other people use it. i would have bought (and will in the future) a 4070 probably when the price drops semi reasonably. however the build was new and slightly under $1000. to sum it up my main point is that *in this specific video* - the channel isn’t showing a video of Cyberpunk2077 with dlss 3.5 on…rather 1440p, high settings (idk if they meant highest settings or just high settings), but *with ray tracing on* … and we all know how poorly the 4060 does *with* raytracing and *without* using dlss 3.5. at the end of the day - as long as AAA single player games that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing, can stay above 60 fps (and even remain at 90-100 most of the time) i have absolutely no complaints as a casual these days.
As a pc noob getting a new gaming pc - why is the newer 4060 worse than the old 3070 ? I want to play Cyberpunk 2077 and Starfield with a good fps and setting on 1080p or thinking about 1440p ....
It is purely a price to performance thing. The 3070 is roughly the same price but better raw performance. The benefit of the 4060 is being able to use dlss 3 to significantly boost fps. 4060 is a very good 1080p card. Could be a pretty good 1440p card if you overclock it. The 3070 is a good 1440p card that can be made even better with overclocking. Don't worry so much about all the anger surrounding these cards. If you're going with nvidia, just get which ever one of the 30 series or 40 series fits into your price margin. They are all pretty good cards, just too expensive is all.
these fps are not accurate i got 15-20 fps more than showed in video in 4060 and fg is very good thing 3070 is just the raw performance because 3070 dlss decreses the quality pretty much. 4060 gives better quality and performance with dlss and fg
Tested today my 4060 with max settings with raytracing in cyberpunk and had 27-31fps and when i used fg it jumped to 45-48fps and no one can tell the difference between fg off and fg on litrelly there is no difference. And if i turn on dlss i easily touch 65 to 70 fps but yeah dlss lowers the resolution(it varies dlss quality keeps up the quality) but other than that it looks pretty good My personal preference is dlss quality + fg = best performance and i get 60-65 fps which is very nice and no much resolution decrease
Im a fan of 60 series because their cheap and always value for money. My 1st card is 1060, then 2nd card is 2060, then 3060. But why 4060 is like this Nvidia?

@@theosclong1201 Absolutely depends on the game and on your settings. One can also propell a 500hz monitor with a more than ten-year-old bureau-computer playing Quake 3. Most newer Triple As won't run as smooth as let's say 2 to 6 year old games.

I'd opt for a used R 6800 (XT) +, it easily outperforms RX 3070 both in fps and VRAM, it has 16gb instead of 8gb (if RT and stuff is not that imp to you ofc).

Only 3070s you’ll find close to that price are used, most likely used for mining, and even then the 4060 has on par ray tracing, better dlss, and wayyyy more power efficient

4060 is slower but less costly, smaller, and much more efficient. I opted for a 4060 over a 3070 in my 10L case

an RTX 4060 low profile is pretty insane for the size.
And the single fan dual slot too. Perfect for performance on low power Usff builds. I just finished an i7 12700 w/ RTX 4060 in a sub 5 litre case. Pretty impressive when you factor in size, tdp & price point

the 4060 technically *IS* better with the newer features on dlss 3.5 and frame gen esp (or at least neck and neck with the 3070).
and if i am wrong explain to me how i get a smooth 120fps on 1080p all ultra settings, ultra ray tracing too, quality dlss preset?
only reason i bought a 4060 is how much cheaper it was during holidays but only in prebuilts. (although i can change the gpu very easily with this specific build).
edit: this is mainly based around cyberpunk especially - because going from 1080 to 1440p (if using dlss 3.5) wont drop your frames as much as they do in this video and i saw more reviews specifically *WITH* it on that makes it a solid competitor (its like 10-20 frames above the 3070 with dlss 3.5 (with 3.5 there were major upgrades); but without it is usually 15-30 behind the 3070…so for me it doesn’t make a huge difference since it does what i need it to do.
plus this is probably stock with no tweaks it depends too how many GHz the cpu is reaching and how much Vram you have as well.
edit 2: i have also been told that Starfield doesn’t use all the new dlss features or any at all (could’ve changed though - i’m not sure); because i also get a cery solid 90-120 fps all ultra settings (except for one, i forget what it is but it wasn’t a very useful one), depending on the situation im in (fighting a big space battle/when im tryna loot one of those moon base camps that are abandoned and filled with and such.
anywho, i have no reason to lie; it just confuses me that so many people hate it while it does the job pretty dam well for what i do. the only thing i haven’t tried, like i said: is 1440 or 4k. but i have seen other people use it.
i would have bought (and will in the future) a 4070 probably when the price drops semi reasonably. however the build was new and slightly under $1000.
to sum it up my main point is that *in this specific video* - the channel isn’t showing a video of Cyberpunk2077 with dlss 3.5 on…rather 1440p, high settings (idk if they meant highest settings or just high settings), but *with ray tracing on* … and we all know how poorly the 4060 does *with* raytracing and *without* using dlss 3.5.
at the end of the day - as long as AAA single player games that are meant to be aesthetically pleasing, can stay above 60 fps (and even remain at 90-100 most of the time) i have absolutely no complaints as a casual these days.
Me chilling with my 3070 but and seeing people in facebook sell rtx 4060 for almost the same price or higher than my card.

As a pc noob getting a new gaming pc - why is the newer 4060 worse than the old 3070 ?

It is purely a price to performance thing. The 3070 is roughly the same price but better raw performance. The benefit of the 4060 is being able to use dlss 3 to significantly boost fps. 4060 is a very good 1080p card. Could be a pretty good 1440p card if you overclock it. The 3070 is a good 1440p card that can be made even better with overclocking. Don't worry so much about all the anger surrounding these cards. If you're going with nvidia, just get which ever one of the 30 series or 40 series fits into your price margin. They are all pretty good cards, just too expensive is all.

these fps are not accurate i got 15-20 fps more than showed in video in 4060 and fg is very good thing 3070 is just the raw performance because 3070 dlss decreses the quality pretty much. 4060 gives better quality and performance with dlss and fg
How does DLSS 3.0 affect vs.
Tested today my 4060 with max settings with raytracing in cyberpunk and had 27-31fps and when i used fg it jumped to 45-48fps and no one can tell the difference between fg off and fg on litrelly there is no difference. And if i turn on dlss i easily touch 65 to 70 fps but yeah dlss lowers the resolution(it varies dlss quality keeps up the quality) but other than that it looks pretty good
My personal preference is dlss quality + fg = best performance and i get 60-65 fps which is very nice and no much resolution decrease
The 3070 goes for around 50 bucks more on 2nd hand(you can even find unopened ones) and they are much better than the 4060

I'd opt for a used R 6800 (XT) +, it easily outperforms RX 3070 both in fps and VRAM, it has 16gb instead of 8gb (if RT and stuff is not that imp to you ofc).

Only 3070s you’ll find close to that price are used, most likely used for mining, and even then the 4060 has on par ray tracing, better dlss, and wayyyy more power efficient

FrameGen on the 4060 will make the card outperform the 3070 by some margin. It’s not available on the 30 series.
