Family! Learning this exercise (the scoop) has really been a game changer for ALL my calisthenics movements, and I am sure it will for you as well. Wether you have winging or not, it really helps to stabilize the shoulders. Many of you might not need it, but for many of us with history of shoulder problems, this can truly change how we move and feel - at least it did for me. Finally, be patient. This takes TIME. Depending on how severe is your condition (mine is pretty bad due to dislocating my shoulders 40+ times in the past, labrum tears, and hyper-mobility syndrome) it might take years to build true stability on your blades. For some of you, you don’t even need this. Be your own coach. Love you all 🫶🏽 -Gabo
These videos with Andrew are super informative and helpful. I love how you keep sharing more and more knowledge so everyone can move mindfully and healthily. Thank you! Also I miss the weekly uploads :'(
Gratitude!super helpful,I've suffered from several dislocations and I'm checking all your videos to do with shoulders to get mines better without the surgery that I cannot afford
Super informative!! These look challenging. Thank you for breaking these movements down and making them easier to understand. I will add these into the mix.
3:50 Can this be done with 2 cable towers? The cables will pull from the outside instead from the inside like the resistance band. Is this still viable?
Hey Gabo 🙋🏻, can you please in future upload videos on your handstand compilation (with your already great thumbnails and already great videography) your handstands have been my biggest motivation, and still are, and i am sure a lot people would agree. A compilation of you doing handstands would be just gold😍. Just try one atleast please 🥺. Regards, love from India 😊
@@chelz25 yeah i have been doin pull ups for years now when it happened i didn't care, thought it would go away if i give some time to rest, then it has been existing for months and it is quite upsetting for me because pull ups are my favorite
I have winged scapula on my right side and can't build right pec (the difference between right and left is absolutely huge, it's getting ridiculous). Do you guys believe this is the cause ? I have been trying to find a solution to this problem for 6 years.
I have the exact same problem. and my shoulder points forward. I actually suspect the problem arises from the flat foot, and has become this way after many years of reaching forward with the mouse for computer programming, and for the stick shift in the manual drive Jeep. My foot seems to point outward, yet my knee points forward. and my ribs on that side are flat, while my ribs on the other side are flared. And finally, my low ab is more bulbous on the bad shoulder and foot side. like it sticks out more. So again, I suspect all this misalignment is coming from the flat foot, and everything has adapted into balance, creating this impossible nightmare of a posture puzzle. Oh - also I like to sleep on my side, and that probably reinforces the problem, as the shoulder is perfectly exagerated into that bad position. Or so it seems. And another hint, when I lay on the bed, on my back, the bad foot flops over to the outside, but the other foot does not. Also, often times, especially after jogging, my knee on the bad side feels like it has fluid in it, and it aches and shoots pains. Oh, I just remembered another thing. When I do pull ups, the scap/lat on the bad side feels wrong. I can't describe it very well. it feels kind of like the bottom outer edge of the scap is sticking out to the side, away from the spine. and my muscle under the arm pit, on the outside feels overworked. Also, my armpit on that side, if I raise my arms, it's like it faces forward more than the other side. and when I put on deodorant, it's easier on the bad side cause it's like flatter and more turned in.
is your neck tight? for me I had bad forward head posture. once I fixed this, i started to see improvements in my winging on my left scapula. I did a lot of chin tucks and lay flat with a lacrosse ball under my neck to self massage.
Any updates on this? @SaturnoMovement, were you actually able to fix the scapula winging with this? Or anyone who followed through the recommendations 😅
I have rounded shoulders, and my left shoulder muscles are way smaller than my right side. When I sleep on my right side, my left shoulder pains as my arm pulls my left shoulder forward
I have been trying your techniques which I know will be great for my winging scapula, however, I have an additional issue which I think are getting in the way a bit. I suffer from both left & right rotator cuff issues, what would your advice be, should I fix them before the scapula or carry on with rehab of both at the same time? Thanks so much
How would your work out plan look like if you were to add this to your normal routine, I do push up and pike push up for push day and inverted row on pull day.
I've been helping some older folks with this. Easily spotted my internally rotated arms while standing. Easiest to start with the wall for scap push ups, then the couch arm etc etc
Hi gabo, i started following you on Spotify, i hope it's alright. Your music choice is so calming and beautiful. I hope to meet you someday.., i live in India, maybe in few years I'll travel to America

Bro, i have been suffering scap winging for a 5 years, in my country there is no good physiotherapist, i just want to know if i do these excercises, would i be able to fix my looks or i will only get strength?? Pls bro respond 😭
Technically yes. He said depression because that’s where we “want it to be” for most movements. But yeah, you can “scoop” while the scapulas are elevated so it would be the movements you mentioned. -Gabo
Can anyone tell me how bad a slight winging Scapula is for Cali skills. I have a very slight winging and can do dips +60 and pull ups +50 as well as mu/free hspu and so on. But Front lever gives me trouble since summer. Could this be due to a weak or winging scapula?

Hey, Whats your opinion on using a resistance band to help your arm reach away in the scooping ?
Can u do some yin yoga routines?

Plz make a video on how to prevent or stop chest pain while doing dips . Your video on how to prevent golfers elbow helped me a ton .
Not everyone can do dips without sternum pain, just do pushups
Alex Leonidas made a really good recent video on this. You should go watch it.
Having a collab with MoveU🔥
First time I heard you laugh.. the Andrew effect
That informs me I should smile more often :) thanks. -Gabo

I have a doubt
So while doing the scapula push ups my scapula is protracted and depressed
So when I go down is it okay if they gets elevated?
It will elevate slightly when you reach full retraction, but the goal is to avoid elevation and keep it depressed as much as possible. -Gabo

Step 1: go see a doctor instead of asking people online. With a proper diagnosis you have a starting point to make a recovery plan.

Love it bro! Can we see more yoga routines for full body please 🙏
