- Budgies will start eating and cracking seeds at the age of 4-6 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱. Around a 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 of old, they will start to venture from the nest and explore food themselves. They will receive all of their nourishment from being actively fed by 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. By that time they will learn many things from their parents. Over time, the #budgie parents will feed them less and less and the babies will begin to 𝖾𝖺𝗍 𝗈𝗇 𝗍𝗁𝖾𝗂𝗋 𝗈𝗐𝗇. This period is perfect for 𝘁𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 your #birds. Feed them more often from their hands.
During the weaning period offer them soft 𝗲𝗴𝗴 food, 𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝘁𝘀, seeds, you can also try some pieces of greens but because the babies have sensitive 𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 system it's better to try a few weeks later but keep in mind that if you 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘵 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦, later you're going to have problems with getting them to eat 𝗳𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲𝘀.

The thing is when the baby bird had grown , and the mother of the baby start bitting them so hard that they lost their life so what can I do for them? The mother bird is so much angry this days and I can't help with that . She bite her own chicks to death . I am so sad now she killed her two babies . And only one is alive now. Can u pls help me ? What I have to do?

I'm sorry for your beloved one 🥺
But i separated the parents from the babies. They have all grown up and they are almost one month old. The mother fights with the eldest child who is 38 days old today and does not let the child come or sit next to her or let her feed. The father bites off the feathers of the children and preen them and they become scared and scream. I hope i made the right decision of separating the parents. The eldest child can fly now and the other three can eat by themselves and are much stronger than before Alhamdulillah.

You don't have to separate parents but because mine started mating and she was about to lay more eggs I separated her while leaving nest box for babies to sleep inside. By the time they started coming out.

Can u tell me why we should not put mirror in a breeding cage?
Can someone help I have 2 budgies a male and a female and for the last 2 to 3 weeks they haven't come outside their cage. They've come outside many times before but they suddenly just stopped. The female also usually ha her head snuggled against her back like how they sleep. The male jumps around inside the cage and he also stays on the bottom perch near the food so I started refilling more often but they still don't come outside. I have changed their the cage cover so maybe that's it but I'm scared that their not feeling well and find an available vet nearby sorry if this is long but if anyone knows what the potential reason could be please help.

Very often females will lay eggs even if they don't have a mate. Those eggs are not fertile.

Hello . I have two budgies and one baby budgie. Today morning the older budgies beat the younger one so badly that it's mouth and nose were bleeding. So we separated it from the older ones and now it refuses to eat. Can you please suggest how to hand feed and take care of it ? I don't have baby bird food formula.
