    Not usually parents.. It's usually one parent. 95% of the time it's the mother.

      Absolutely. And they usually have a severe Cluster B personality disorder. I knew of a woman where her child died of mysterious circumstances but she was investigated. I don't believe she was ever charged. Years later, she kept coming to the attention of police as she was stalking and harassing other women who didn't want to be friends with her. By this point she was in her 40's. These women have serious, longstanding issues yet are well enabled by society to keep running loose

      That's interesting, I'd never thought of it but yes, you pretty much hear about it being a female. I wonder what it has to do with how we view mothers, they're supposed to be selfless, caring etc so they're using this "image" most of us have of "the mother" and twist it for their own ends. Also women (especially mothers) are viewed as less "dangerous" (sorry for all my words in quotations!). Regarding various health professionals, you can't really fault them so much because the parent, in cases like these, will engineer who sees the child, how they're presented, withhold information etc, etc. Think of someone seeing doctors to try and obtain certain prescriptions, they're not going to tell each doctor the whole story - hope I've made some sense after this rambling comment!

      Single mothers have more control and opportunity for this kind of crime. If both parents live together it might be harder to hide what she is doing.

    Is there a type of emotional munchousins in which a mother drives her daughter insane or keeps emotionally triggerimg her to make her appear emotionally unstable to gain sympathy from others?or is it a purely covert malicious attack on their children's physical health only?

      Good question, I've wondered about that with a parent, as well. Abnormal. Like to reinforce their warped version of reality. Maybe it's just "gaslighting".

      @@meganmoore9811 it seems worse some how when its your parent... With a lover it can feel like they're raping your soul but when its your parent.... It feels more like consumption...its sicker for sure .Especially when adding the intentional emotional manipulation to make you appear crazy when ypure too little to understand people do that. And that its actually being done to you..

      @@kellypawspa true, and growing up in it makes it worse, parents set the standard, but I knew things were off even as a child. It's nice if you can be around safe people that are for you, and healthy. Wishing you well. I've been watching henry cloud for some practical things, as well as gaslighting videos, what not to do, how to respond. Also surviving narcissism, Dr ramani, others. Also " living Waters" hope in Christ.

      @@kellypawspa wow. That question is exactly why I'm here. I can't tell if it's munchausens or something like mother hen syndrome. Of course that's not a real thing, but when a parent wants to control everything cuz they think they know best. And I'm talking about the kids being in their 40s!

    • @kellypawspa
      @kellypawspa 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@AncientEnergyEyesOpen I think I've concluded my mother might have some type of covert narcissism thing going on. Of course... I'm not a psychologist.. Just relate to others stories with moms with that diagnosis. If you're really looking for answers... Do a search on that and see if it helps.

    It's like a hypochondria that projects itself outward once it realizes the attention it can receive from promoting sickness in those that it cares for. There is love, true, but that love is outweighed by a sense of needing to feel vital in their loved one's inflicted illness and recovery.

      Dr Amal Beaini of Leeds NHS is a textbook example of Munchausens Syndrome by Proxy who exhibits the prime symptons of MSbP - disdain of the law, secret delight in harming others, cunning in the method of harm, recruiting of legal advicsors and other staff to cover up the criminal acts.

    I would say it is a little more common among kids who are fast developing and more matured and intelligent and the mother doesn't feel as important and active in the child's life, so she does this so she can feel important to her child

    How is this considered a mental disorder? It's a deliberate choice by the parent, not something that they can't control. They can control it, and they are choosing to do it.
