I just watched that whole streamed lesson with guitar in hand. The 5 Dominant scales, the melodic tips like using guide tones and chord tones, using the Blues, ... it was all right up my alley. I even had the lead sheet for Blue Bossa handy and played along. Thanks so much for the fantastic lesson!
Frank is a brilliant player and a wonderful guy, had the chance to see him in NYC at Birdland with the late Vic Juris, in November 2019, as well as playing with Jimmy Bruno and the kid Henry Acker. Frank was so gracious and asked me back stage and I got to chat with him, Jimmy and Vic, what a special time. Frank played so well that night, he is just a master. Go see him!
Hi,Frank.Met you at Robben Fords Dojo with Martin Taylor.I didnt get to come to your camp lastr year but its something I would really like to do.Just pick a beautiful place to have it. Still learning to play the changes.Hope to see you further down the road.Dr Brad-Dallas
If I may ask your opinion on something, I'm curious to hear your take on something I heard Joe Pass say in a lesson video from 1991. He said that he only listens for major, minor, or dominant 7th chords. I get the idea of simplifying, but what happens when something like a dominant 7th flat 9th comes up? Or with augmented or add nine add eleven chords. I am only a little better than intermediate, so it's a little confusing to understand how that works.
Does anyone know if that is an original D’Angelico or a new replica. I’ve never seen as thin a New Yorker as that. It is also almost as mint as you can get.
It looks like a 10 year-old D'A NYSS-3 (I have one in blonde - stunning guitar!). They were made in Japan and are a different thing than the current models.
I enjoyed his solo more than his playing of the head. He over-played the dynamic of the occasional fill-in chords (i.e. too loud) compared to the melody in the head. Great soloing though.
HI FRANK I M FROM GREECE BUT WE MET ONCE LONG WAY BACK IN NEW YORK AT BIRDLAND YOU PLAYED WITH A VIOLINIST DON'T REMEMBER THE NAME...YOU PLAYED ACOUSTICALY DJANGO STYLE...
Best living guitarist IMO. God bless Frank !
Frank Vignola I frikkin love you man!
Thanks for this awesome material.
You are a gift to us, Frank.
Vignola is a fine educator, which is a highly specialized skill in itself.

Always a joy to hear you Frank!!❤️🎸
Don’t know why but I can listen to jazz and blues guitar 24/7. Hands down Frank is fantastic jazz player (king of clean) and a great teacher.
Ur the man I've been looking for.
My favorite Frank arrangement is “Fascinating Rythm” with Mark O’Connor’s Hot Swing Trio. His work on that song is astounding.
It’s so good to see him well again after that terrible accident! Wonderful guitarist, wonderful educator, wonderful guy
Best teacher and most enjoyable player!
Jazz guitarists, among guitarists are the most like master painters.

I could really get into jazz if this guy was my teacher!
You should get into jazz regardless.
He has some great Guitar instructional DVDs and online courses.
Frank does teach through his True fire Channel, you can book a private lesson. They are always awesome
Anybody knows the name of the intro song in the beginning?
In a mellow tone
I enjoyed his solo more than his playing of the head. He over-played the dynamic of the occasional fill-in chords (i.e. too loud) compared to the melody in the head.
Great soloing though.
In a Mellow Tone, Duke Ellington tune.
