Thank you! I enjoy turning, it's sometimes frustrating because you can ruin something really quickly but then other times things just work out. During this video, I had made and screwed up 5 or 6 tops because of the wood being bad inside or catches.
Keep an eye out for some of the older lathes, I paid $150 for this one. But then you will start to collect more and more tools, and every chunk of wood "could" be used for something on the lathe 😆
@@heyimamaker my dad offered to give me his shop Smith (which of course has a lathe) but i don't have space for it at the moment. One day when i build a real shop then I'll get a lathe 😎

Hello my friend. I love wood turning work. nice to watch you. A vertex flip was successful. Congratulations. I'm thinking of buying a lathe in the future. I watched you with admiration. Thank you. Great greetings. Warm embrace. Yours truly...

In all the years I've had a lathe I've never made a top... After this I'll have to rectify that! Thanks mate.
Would love to see it when you do!
Nice, I don’t turn but love to watch. They came out real nice

Great looking tops
Thank you! Have you ever made a top? Curious what tools you preferred to use.
Cool tops! Great video man.
Thank you sir!
That’s a sharp looking lathe! That fiber turned down quickly. Nicely done!
It's an old Rockwell Beaver lathe from maybe the 70's. Thanks for watching!
Hey I'm a Maker no problem. That’s a real workhorse. Holding up well.
Stunning spinning tops!
lol, thank you!
These were fun to make, but I really struggled making them!
Great job! If i ever get a lathe I'm going to make my son some tops for sure!

Thanks! A lot of alternative versions of these will use maple, then they color them using felts, so many possibilities!

These turned out so great! And I have such a good idea for the clip you sent!
Awesome, looking forward to it!
Oh I used to love these back in the 80s my kids probably don't even know what they are now 🙄
Haha, so true, everyone that saw them asked if they were from Inception.
Like it so much! I'll make and give to my cousine
Awesome, let me know how it went if you do make some :)

Thank you! You too!
No worries! Welcome to stop by our channel anytime! Have a good one
Oh wow...awesome work on these tops! How long have you been turning?
A few years now, but not as often as I would like. I only recently purchased a sharpening jig that really helped me get better results.
@@heyimamaker That's awesome. Thanks for sharing this!
Cool stuff! Which tree are you using?
These are Walnut, the lighter ones in the ending there were Maple and Ash.
Thanks for watching!
In our place we use to make top like yours but not same which can be thrown on the top and the bottom from lndia
Nice! I have thrown these upside town but they need to spin very fast.
Way better than the ones I made
Lol, I like your wire burning method! That would look awesome on some maple tops!
Thanks for watching!
