How do you prevent the dslr from overheating and giving an error? I have a canon eos7d and it doesnt work well as a video camera if i plug it in through a capture card
10:02 Editing videos in a command line is the most linux thing I've heard in a while... Anyway, cool collab, it's really cool to see how different everyone's pipeline is!
I use blender as my primary video editor tho. It was hard at start but now it's not (much) problem. And I like it cus It has always given me smooth playbacks compared to shotcut and olive. I miss filters and traditions tho.
As an open source advocate, I also run Linux, and create all of my content on Linux. I use, well, open source of course. Shotcut for video editing (which is so much more powerful that what I use it for), Audacity for audio clean up (which I'm still trying to perfect. I use Neewer mics, which are actually way better than I make them sound, and are so inexpensive, it's a great way to get started at least. I use OBS for my screen recordings, and generally don't show up on camera, because no one is at my channel to see me. Great video! Great content creators, and Love seeing what they all run. Thanks for this.
I've had the intention of making a Linux TH-cam channel for a while and this video just fueled that flame. Thank you Reluctant Anarchist and all the Linux content creators! This video is awesome.
Great collab. Its actually fun to see that people can do creative work on linux, and that theres no need to complain about adobe. Would have love to seen Mental outlaws setup
This is an amazingly well put together video. It's nice to see the Linux community collab with you to make a video like this! I'm looking forward to the growth that you will continue to get. PS. Michael Horn and Stefan (CNC Kitchen) sound very similar. Lol
This was an incredible watch. Loved seeing behind the scenes! Great collaboration with everyone-would definitely love to see more of this in the future.
Hey, what tools do you use for graphic designing works on Linux? I've Linux on my machine for like 5months I really want to use my opensuse tw workflow again, but the tools for graphics design felt kinda "basic" for the lack of a better word. I see now that the hardware I have is perfectly adequate, and I have some new ideas for supplemental hardware and software depending on the direction I decide to take. I really appreciate you and all the creators who took part, it was very helpful 🙂.
This is the best promo video I have ever seen. I'm an OG from before Redhat existed, Slackware ad Minix. Props for getting participants and making this.
This seems fun to join in. How I make my gaming moments is, I use OpenShot, sometimes I make random images so I use GIMP for that, and my desktop currently as I am writing this is Linux Mint 22 but I am making a jump to EndeavourOS. I use OBS to do streams but use VokoscreenNG to record gaming sessions. My mic is a bad Webcam mic but im hoping to get a new one soon. Super interesting video.
Videos like these show me how much I still have to learn on linux. I use it daily as I am a linux systems admin but I only touch a very small ammount of software during my work. But looking at the user side of things this is just thrilling to see

which version of Linux do you use? can you install it side by side Windows on the same HD? What about trading software like many brokers offer Schwab, Fidelity, Interactive brokers, Think or Swim? Can you run them somehow on Linux?
The main question is how people with DSLRs that are using them for video recording and streaming make them work for longer than 30 mins and prevent overheating. I have an EOS7D and it either shuts down after 30 min (solved with Magiclantern) or starts showing a heat error and shuts off
I've long been baffled by all the complaints from various youtubers about how linux doesn't work, because I've never had any issues on my laptop. Seeing what kind of crazy gears these people are using suddenly explains a lot.
I think it probably lacks in both. I haven't really touched audio production but for video production, neither premier pro nor final cut have Linux versions and the davinci resolve Linux version is very unsupported and bad. it'd be funny to do a cursed setup tho, like blender for video editing, vlc for video recording, ms paint for thumbnails...
