      I'm not saying he isn't great. But he wouldn't be able to shoot all those crazy 3's. In the 90s, it would be harder for him to drive to the Lane. Because guards and bigs would be able to punish him down low. He would not have the extra step that every NBA player in the modern era has. It would be a really hard adjustment for him. He would've averaged 40 in his best scoring seasons in that era because the League was handicapped by the Illegal Defense and no Zone Defense rules which would've made it so much easier for him to score in 1 on 1 iso because teams weren't allowed to send help on the weak side of the floor and double the best player on the opposing team as soon as they drive to the rim or catch the ball in the mid range and if anyone allows any great player like Steph to blow by them and drive into the paint with no help then they will get scored on every single time 💯

    • @yuletak
      @yuletak 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Curry's not an iso player tho. He's not quite strong/fast enough for it. If the coach at the time runs the offense thru Curry similarly to what GS has now, then yeah, he could probably get a shot off at any time. Lots of things to consider. Fun exercise!

      It's not just the physicality. In 90's, you could not just flat out carry the ball or do some 012 crap or ask teammate to set a moving screen or double dribble like today. That's where it'd be tough for today's players to play in the 90s. Video games don't simulate that.

    Worst narrative I've heard. Of course he could survive and smash the league back then. I am 80s kid and watched the 90s NBA. He's miles ahead of Mark Price.

    Could he hold up under the 90s rules? That's why the personnel changed, to match the new style of play the NBA was looking for.

    Look, guys, I'm not saying that Steph Curry's not one of the greatest players ever. I'm just saying that he would have a hard time adjusting to that era of basketball. It doesn't matter what he does in this era. It's a totally different game back. Then people could be mean to you. He would definitely have to play through cheap shots and horrible fails. Remember he was hurt twice in this era.
    And there would be no resting He would still be great of course

    Putting Steph Curry in the 90s on your video game to see if he could survive because he was only 6’3” was a complete useless waste of time.

    Spud Webb also played in the 90s and he was only 5’6” and he could dunk

    You guys just don't understand, a video game is not going to emulate culture. If he's not getting pressed and trapped 94 ft for 48 minutes, hand checked, a forearm jammed in his side and a chest bumping him constantly when he tries to screen and peel or cut in not to mention the bigs knocking him on his ass when trying to score on the inside then this simulation is pointless.

    The question is not would he survive the question is what coach would have had a system where he could take the shots he takes now? Half court shots made or missed would have had him benched

    • @brianschwartz7937
      @brianschwartz7937 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Don Nelson (Warriors coach at the time) would have allowed it just like Kerr did in the 2010's.
      The reason a coach would bench a guy for shooting like that is because every other player in the history of the game can't make it. Steph Curry isn't every other player. Curry repeatedly proves he can, and does it at a high enough rate to justify it.
      The NBA 3-pt line is 23'-9"......Steph Curry hits 30+ foot shots at a rate of 40.5%, which puts him on par with Reggie Miller's ability to hit 3s from anywhere. Nobody's benching a guy with that range and consistency.
