Getting close to pulling the trigger on an LG C3 and would most likely add a Firestick to the mix since my OG Shield is starting to age out quickly. This review is very timely and much appreciated.
Hi I’ve never owned a Firestick before and thinking of getting one as my Sky subscription has increased. Basic question, can you watch normal TV channels on a Firestick (BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5)? May be a dumb question but as I said, I’m new to all of this, thanks!
@@user-xt9ce6cy1r - I hate Smart TV software because of how much lag it has so I got an Amazon Fire Stick and you're correct. I would have thought companies as wealthy as Amazon and Google (Android) could make the software snappy but nope. I have an old Sony Bravia TV from 2010 that functions quicker than a brand new 4K OLED from 2024.
What happened to the 1 and 2 buttons? None of your four models show that. Why do I want a dedicated button for Disney or Amazon music? I never use them.
My Fire Stick is from 2017. Lately the buffering has gotten bad. It is a fairly recent problem. The connection specs seem to be OK. I have cleared cache, cleared up storage space and deleted and reinstalled Hulu. Hulu seems to be the biggest problem. Is my Firestick just old, and would a 2023 model more than likely solve the buffering issue?
HI, I'm researching to get a streaming stick for my parents. They are senior and not tech savvy, and I know my mom would be annoyed by the part you mentioned where you press forward and it does different actions on different platforms. She would not be able to remember which button could ff or rewind for each app. Do you have recommendations? Does anyone? Thank you
Good video but you left out one of the biggest features of the 4k Max, it is the only one that does arc return from any other input on your tv or projector to Amazon connected speakers ie the Studio speakers and sub with atmos capabilities Example Xbox ps5 through wireless Amazon Studio Speakers
Are all the same regarding the installation of different apps? I have a 2020 firestick and don't know if to upgrade. I heard that the lite version is the same one as mine but with a worse remote control.
Which firestick works with a JVC 32 inch non smart TV model LT-32C 365 please? Ice tried the Amazon lite and it doesn't work. Help please I don't understand a lot of tech language
I've just ordered the 4K version to turn our dumb Sharp TV into a smart TV. I've concluded that the 4K Max version would be overkill as our Sharp is only 1080 and I don't play games. The 4K version can also be seen as overkill but it's a no-brainer when Amazon have discounted it by 42%.
I got the 1st fire stick and let me tell you it works like 5hit. A year or so ago it worked fine with my Hulu, HBO max and Prime but now it pauses all the time, shows connection errors even though it right next to the modem and no other device in my house does these things. These things are made so cheaply. I have Spectrum internet.
I purchased a fire stick 4K Maxx from Amazon but now it was defective so I had to send it back but they want to do a replacement and send me a lesser one, I'm having so much problems with Amazon.
did fire tv max support in older 1080p tv i have 2015 lg tv but want to invest in firetv stick for one and only time for ne xt tv upgrade i am going to use max
Hmmm.. so despite myself and countless others answering an Amazon survey on what we’d like to see most in future fire tv sticks, they still ignore the results and put in the same low memory and storage as my 2020 4k fire tv stick, which runs out of memory and storage with just a few basic apps installed.
That's why I never do surveys, to give my time and advice for free. These mofos will do what's best for the bottom line. Do you think they care about what the consumer wants? How else can Micro-USB port be explained on a 2023 model?
Genuine question what or would I be getting over the built in smart features that’s comes with Netflix etc built in? Do I benefit anything or are they for TVs without they features?? My TVs a Samsung 2018 and can stream 4k HDR with built in apps no need for fire stick unless I’m missing something out
Excellent video. You covered all the important points concisely. Who runs this channel? It's done very professionally. Britain at its finest. My only gripe is that you missed one thing, which is what I tuned in for. You didn't mention what ports they have. I learned that 4K Max has a Micro-USB, which is a deal breaker for me. I left Micro-USB behind a couple of years ago. Do you have a similar comparison video on Chromecast and Roku?
I find it extremely annoying that they don't offer a table-top style of Fire TV device with an ethernet port. I currently have a Fire stick with a USB ethernet adapter but the whole thing looks like a giant shit mess of cables. I don't like using Wi-Fi for entertainment if I can avoid it due to all the cameras and smart devices I have on the network. Roku makes proper table-top devices. Even Onn is making one now but it doesn't have ethernet so it's almost pointless. BTW - I know they have the Fire Cube, but it's super pricey and has lots of features I couldn't care less about. I don't use smart speakers for anything. I like having absolute control, zero automation and above all, no one listening to every word I say.
This was very very helpful thank you I have a ring doorbell and I got a AmazonEcho device and it was ridiculous trying to see who is at my door 😂 In short thank you❤

Yes you can. Heard you can get people to program for you to get extra channels too
Don’t buy this junk. It’s lags sooooo bad. The experience will become unbearable. Every button press takes forever to respond.

Yes, you have a old cpu and chipset. The new ones are much faster and the they have new chipsets.
I'll keep the ones I have until they no longer work. I don't see the point in upgrading every time they put a new one out. Mine worl perfectly fine.

You never talked about live tv. Which one is best if that's the most important?
My old Sony bravia TV is not smart, it is 1080 , so would a 4 k version fire stick work?
It would work but you’ll only get 1080p. You would be future proofing for if you change your TV
Literally the question I needed an answer too 🙌🏽

I think that lite is bad choise because you cant use volume.

so if i just want surround/stereo sound the lite stick would be sufficient?

Dose this turn a normal tv in a smart tv? Dose it connect to your wifi
Yes to sum it up

I’m still using Verizon fios and I want to switch to this I jus want to eliminate my monthly bill of $195. Will this help?
My wife is now in the process of purchasing a Firestick to cut the cord on that $200 a month bill as well.
I went thru with it. I suspended my cable and kept the internet only. I’ve been just fine with the fire stick.
What if I’m happy with what my LG G3 can do but need to supplant the ad-riddled and therefore unusable native TH-cam app with Smarttube?
I want to buy a fire stick, but I have a Samsung 2020, 4K tv, which of the 2 lates fire sticks is the best for me?

Amazon are ditching the Android OS which will kill sideloading Android Apps which will kill Firesticks.
