My best cooking hack is to use lemon juice when cooking green veggies. Works with Brussels sprouts, asparagus, broccoli, courgette, green beans, bok choi etc. Of course, you can use other seasonings too. I like cayenne pepper and paprika with my lemon juice. Cumin seeds can make a dish seem meatier, especially if using a meat substitute or forgoing meat completely. Always enjoy your videos 🥰
I saw Wayne Goss do that concealer trick so of course that's how I do it now...I usually don't argue with Uncle Wayne lol. Fun video Nadi, thank you ♥️♥️
You should definitely watch some of Robert Welsh's videos about these so called hacks. He talks about the concealer hack you tried in one of the videos. Just like you he doesn't sugarcoat shit and I really love that about both of you. Thank you for being awesome Peace and love to you and your family 🖤🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡
Waaaayyy back in the early 90s I was taught to use powder under my foundation. But lightly so it doesn't get cakey. With the nailpolish on your cuticals, just gently dip a q-tip in nail polish remover to remove it from the skin.
I saw Wayne goss do the powder under the foundation thing too. Like you said it’s a liiiight dusting. This dry bitch doesn’t need one layer of powder never mind two 😂😂
Yesss n dnt forget concealer also went after the powder then foundation then thick clumpy eye lashes make them look thic haha n o the glitter eye shadow that went everywere n that wore off on eyes but lasted weeks on the face neck arms even after using ur hands to wash your face with ur reg bar soap miss the EARLY 90s so much it was a diff vibe n atmosphere internet recked lives n kids right along with cell phones wish it was still payed for n only unlimited after 9 haha some things id take from now the more positive LGBT n trans acceptance n blm bring that to 90s n i feel it be great
I’ve been wearing cream blush over powder longer than TH-cam has been around. It’s been gorgeous every single time. Fuck the haters Nadi… they’re just showing us all who they really are. Love you 💋
The eye makeup stripe hack. Back in the day, BeautiControl taught applying the shadows this way! But, using their quads, you blended the shades out with the lightest shade. From inner to outer corners. And, it looked ok!
I think the light setting powder before foundation hack might work really well for more oily people in order to keep their oils at bay longer. Nikkia Joy has talked about that hack.
Yes....and @Jacki Aina does it too (the powder under your foundation)! Looks so gorgeous. I'm gonna have to try some of these hacks. I need one to make my neck look tighter. I've been using bronzer. Ehhh, It works okay. I'm just getting old. Damn it! 😛😜😝😂
So I saw the eyeshadow hack but I saw it all applied using your fingers. I did it with 5 shimmers all neutrals and wowza I loved it. At some point I plan on showing it. I think the key is using creamy metallic shades that would blend nice anyways. They even blended it with fingers.
The first hack to set moisturizer is all I do anymore. I found it seems to seal my moisturizer on areas I used to have more mature skin. Got my daughter it didn’t act the same for her. Can’t believe how many if these hacks I’ve been using. Such a great TH-cam today!
I tried the concealer and blush hack recently but I'm like you, that's where I out my highlighter which I am OBSESSED with so.. where do I out my highlighter?! 🤣 I did like the blush but didn't notice much with the concealer. I haven't found a concealer I LOVE though. My problem is dark under eyes 😔 (I also use Bobbi brown color correcter)
Fit me is my favorite foundation as well! Awesome to see that out of all the big end choices you have you pick that one! Makes my fabulous on a budget ass feel wayyy better! 😁
Back in the 90’s(god I’m old)! I was putting powder under my lipstick which never faded, I never needed to reapply and was even tough to take off sometimes well before cell phones,WiFi YT or TikTok!💗
Nadi, you should do a video using 'hacks' that us older viewers used back in the day before all the modern products exploded onto the market. I still stand by locking solid lipstick with setting powder and various other old-school methods. Oh, and the right hairspray is far better than any fixing spray (it's the same active ingredient). 😁 🖤
Oh god I forgot about that one. I’ll have to do that again. Especially for like the ofra liquid lips that don’t completely set/dry down. Yeah thanks for the reminder 😊
Jackie Aina has been using the powder-first hack for years to help foundation stay put on oily skin, and she brought it out again to do mask-proof makeup now that we have that to worry about it too.
I am 51 and I use the new way. I also have very hooded and down turned eyes, so I can use all the lift I can get. However I don't use contor per se. I use bronzer instead due to my skill level and complexion, and high placed highlight and OG 80s blush pattern. I really am liking the new on you also.
It’s funny I do my blush exactly the same as I’ve done always too, I’m 54. I was kinda chuckling when everyone started putting blush on their noses and foreheads. I Was like your welcome from the 80’s 😂.
I do the powder at the beginning of my routine a little different. I moisturize about an hour before I do my makeup. Then I go in and I put on my primer and then I powder and then I set my face with setting spray. I find it gives a really Flawless look, and my Foundation last a lot longer.
As Robert Welsh says, "There are no rules to makeup but, there is a theory". Meaning do what you want how you want but remember SOME certain things go a certain way. E.g. You can't apply mascara with a bread knife for it work to its maximum capacity but, if you want to use a bread knife, use a bread knife. 😉😁😉😁 I do what works for me & not works for all. My emoji for today went from this 🌞 to this ⛅ . Spring time here in lock down in Melbourne, Victoria. And the lock down is 4 months down so far.... sigh. This is a great video, Nadi. 💚💚💚💚
The best jacks come smitha Deepak here on TH-cam. I copied the eye look a long time ago. She has so many others. You should try her channel for those. Her looks a subdued and yours aren't so I would love to see your version of them 🤗💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Tried the eyeshadow and mine was muddy mess. I like the OG contour blush side better. It gives beautiful contour and cheekbones. I wouldn’t mind the lifted side for a daytime fresh face look. I am a fan of cheekbones, tho, and I feel the lifted side sacrifices cheekbones and contouring.
It works on me…But I only put the powder in my T zone and not a lot! Love your videos by the way when I’m in a bad mood you always put me in a good mood!! 💋💋💋
I am waiting patiently for your highlighters and more. I want to wear one of your highlighters on my wedding day next year. I would also love it if you could post a video on your favorite/best wedding makeup is, full face. ❤️❤️❤️
I didn't know the eyeshadow thing was a hack lol. I have vision problems, and that's how I learned/taught myself to do eyeshadow when I was 15. I don't use as many colors (3 max), and do the matte colors first with a shimmer last.
I had a similar experience with the eyeshadow stripe hack. Getting rid of the harsh stripe lines just ended up in a muddied one-color look. It wasn't awful but for the amount of blending it really wasn't worth it - I could have just thrown on one color in much less time. I really wanted it to work and maybe for some people or formulas it does, but not for me.
Omg Nadi i love watching you do your make up i haven't put any on in years my daughter was watching you 1 day and i asked who are you watching she was like watch ive been watching ever since love you, miah&ron.❤❤
what i do is i actually mix powder with my cream foundation before i apply it because my foundation gives a dewy effect although it says matte and poreless. it works fine.
Thank you for your video! 💜 Yes, I see a difference, but for me... I want to tweak it. Contour OG way, but use hacks using concealer and blush. I totally agree makeup doesn't have rules and you be you. 💜
For that concealer hack to work, it needs to be lighter than the shade you used. It’s a highlight/contour lighting/shading thing. Yours wasn’t light enough to give a contrast
I tried the stripes of eyeshadow hack it came out good enough to walk out the door and go to work. People told me they liked my eyeshadow so I guess it was ok. Yes added extra shimmer at the end also. I’ve only done it once. 😂
Jackie aina or however you spell it has been putting powder under her foundation and over her primer for as long as I have been watching videos on TH-cam!!!
⛅️ in southeast PA today. 🌧 tomorrow. 💙 you and 💜 your videos! PS It would be fun to see a nail polish video - I know you’re just learning - we could go on the journey with you! Maybe review some nail polishes.
You should incorporate more of your singing on your channel. I am a fellow Michigan guitar player and love your voice! You are such a hidden gem Nadi! 🥰 I also do TH-cam and would love to meet ya 1 day. I live about 2 hrs North of you! 😁
hey Nadi boo! we gotta give Jackie Aina her flowers for coining the powder before foundation hack. she said this YEARS ago. I kinda hate how black content creators don't get their credit when we really be giving everyone else the gems 🙄
Yeah I’ve seen Wayne goss talk about that too. Mua’s been doing that for years. I love how these tic tok kids think they’ve invented everything. Lol kids 🤦♀️
Hey so happy to see an upload from you today… was wondering you still moving to Texas or did u decide to stay put, because you haven’t talked about it in a little while?
Cream products actually work better for me, over some powder, as I’m oily. The cream stuff slides right off, if I don’t have something user it. So, the know-it-all’s who clearly know nothing, as this has been a makeup too since at least 50 years. Pretty sure it’s even older than that, though.
1. Not super crazy over the skin prep hack. That's a lot of work for not a whole lot of change. 2. Concealer, I already do that so I'm biased. 3. Contour , I REALLY want to try this. I do have a naturally round face so this seems like it would work for me. 4. Blush, again round face, I'd like to try this. 5. Eyeshadow. Nope, not for me. I don't like how that looks at all.
If it’s splotchy in some areas but great in others, you might do as I have done for decades, and do the prep for your oily areas and/or t-zone, only. And those saying this is wrong, obviously haven’t actually been taught full and long-standing makeup artistry/theory, or they would know this isn’t “wrong.” It’s a legitimate thing, used for many many many years, for a certain skin type. Just because it doesn’t work for some, that doesn’t make it wrong for many others. If this is how they believe things are, then how do they explain how some skincare products are amazing for some, for a horrible idea for many others? People get on my nerves, with their know-it-all, but clearly missing a lot of facts, BS.
Hey doll, I thiMk with the technique Marlena used, you’re supposed to skip a few shades in between. Ex: like Whimsical, On Wednesdays and then Eternally Grapeful…something like that. Just suggestion not necessellery those colors…😉

In the words of Robert Welsh "Makeup has no rules but it has a theory". It always makes my day when you post Nadi. Xoxo
I had the same thought! Love Robert & Nadi, they’re my faves.🖤🖤
I thought the same thing! And it's SO true 🥰
🤣😎👍🏽 Robert’s voice was playing in my head when Nadi said that 🥰🤗 I fckn love The Welsh Bros ✨🖤💜💙✨
Aww Robert...I love him and his brother. I thought the same thing when Nadi said that.

Love this! I’d love to see some mystery boxes and like mini brands unboxing and stuff. That would be AMAZING
The eye hack- I wonder if a sponge would help it?
Nadi feeling the Freddie Mercury vibes! He did one hand in black polish too ❤
I saw Wayne Goss do that concealer trick so of course that's how I do it now...I usually don't argue with Uncle Wayne lol. Fun video Nadi, thank you ♥️♥️
Yessss! Wayne is like the ultimate authority on everything!!!!If you don’t absolutely l💗ve Wayne Goss you might not be human💗💗💗
Yes I remember when Wayne published that video. I wear powder foundation so never bothered trying it, but it looked great when he demonstrated it.

I’ve used ole stool sponge applicators with shimmer shades....looks 😍 gorgeous
The eyeshadow hack works better if you tap it out, rather than swipe to blend. Any way you choose, you are delicious💕
Still rocking my OG Black Ice!!
