Great vid, the best yet I think. Nice to see the cutaways of the car being resprayed as it gave a better idea of the actual work involved. All three parts kept my interest and left me waiting for the next episode. Well done, now lets see if you can improve again.

Great video! I just bought one in Australia in the same colour combo. Has the same sat nav issue and bonnet stone chips, so thanks for sharing! Look forward to making mine come up as sweet as yours.
Mate tbf you've made it look stunning! I really like the fact you haven't cut corners and have brought it back to factory fresh with great detail taken where you didn't need to. I wish I had your credit card to do up something like a black e46 diesel to a similar standard

Haven't been adding it all up, but I'm sure somebody will appreciate all the hard work you've put into the M3 and will pay extra for it being all 100% sorted when you come to sell it. Enjoy it, looks great now, can't believe its the same car.

Interesting seeing this review filmed in the city, which gives it a whole different aesthetic. I quite like it!

@@HighPeakAutos, yes, I have filmed reviews driving through a city before. They aren't exactly stress free experiences! Filmed one on the A3 heading into the Wandsworth Gyratory, I think.

Its nice to see an e46 that isn't a coupe having some life breathed into it. On my own car, I had the csl software update applied, made city driving much more civilised.

As I said in my last comments, how can you let her go now especially with all the work you have done, there is nothing you don’t know about the stunner.
She a classic with pedigree, class and character, I loved my convertible and the SMG gearbox I just wish I had never sold her back in 2007.

Yes, I would have gone for the coupe, but that's what I want. If you like the cabriolet, stick to your choice, I don't think there's right or wrong answer. The car looks gorgeous. I always admire the work of English people and attention to detail they put in their craft. I've been watching the old Wheeler Dealers episodes and you guys are amazing with your car restorations.

Cracking job. Defo with you keeping everything original. Likke you said dont let the smg gearbox put you off. Think there are some bargains to be had with your model before this rise in price again. I worked in Manchester for 25 years, and rarely drove into the city, so well done on that score. The city has become too busy. Brilliant job on the M3; it's a marvellous job. It looks brand new. What a smart motor you've created there. AS others are saying, you've also created one of the best TH-cam channels out there.

Your best option for keeping the original radio but adding some modern functionality to it is the Dension Gateway Pro BT GWP1BM4, it works perfect and the phone function will work exactly as if you had the original bluetooth option from BMW, you can even use the location for the original microphone and install a mic there for the phone calls. The cd changer will be cancelled but you get bluetooth audio streaming.

I was thinking of doing that but they're the original BMW plates. I didn't really want to bin them
Excellent work, th eE46 line has always been a best of breed design (that dashboard and interior! perfect - modern car makers should take note on how to do it right.) So definitely worth fixing up, I have no doubt it will return many years of driving pleasure.

You nailed it. this is how you re-vitalize a car.
I am not the biggest BMW fan, but an car like this is an icon of its era, and should be preserved like that, without facelifts or botox treatments. Great job and a beaut of a car !

Looking very sweet, love the OEM profile throughout! Just spotted at 6:15 that your rear badge sits in a totally different spot from mine. At first I thought yours may have been put back in the wrong spot when it was refitted after the paint job. But a quick search has reliably informed me that it is mine that is wrong! Ah well, at least I know exactly where to fit the new OEM one I've had sitting around for ages! Enjoy ;)
