In this video, I finally tackle the juggernaut that is Saints Row 2. This was the first game I played and re-visiting it after playing the first Saints Row game has been a treat. This video will provide an in-depth look on what made Saints Row 2 an amazing entry in the series and how it holds up 15 years later.

Saints Row 2 is a 2008 action-adventure game developed by Volition and published by THQ. It is the sequel to 2006's Saints Row and the second installment in the Saints Row series. The game was released in October 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, January 2009 for Microsoft Windows, and April 2016 for Linux. A mobile tie-in game was developed by G5 Entertainment and also released in October 2008. Saints Row 2 directly follows from the events of the first game, as the player's custom character awakens from a coma after five years[11] to find that their gang, the 3rd Street Saints, has been disbanded, and their former territories taken over by newly-formed criminal syndicates and a corrupt corporation. With the help of new and old allies, the player attempts to rebuild the Saints and take back Stilwater from their rivals.

Man i miss this female voice 1 that katie samine.. i gotta admit it she doing the boss voice kinda better than Laura did in TT,IV..
Katie Samine did a phenomenal job in SR2. It would’ve been cool if she came back for the later games
@@VandoM22 she's so far can sing well if she want to be a singer when doing sopranos,can do high pitch voice that something rarely any normal VA can do nowadays lol... I only saw last time she appear in CSI game,and People talk about she have her own Television show... I read the reason she's not appear in TT and IV because she live too far from Volition location after moving... So jarros decides to replace her with laura.. her voice it just so calmin,cute,funny at the same times when she's yelling at her enemies lol.
Saints Row 2 is awesome, too bad the series turned out the way it did.
Funnily enough, I can remember the PC port running brilliantly on my PC back in the day. I'm fairly certain to have owned a Athlon II X4 600e and a Radeon HD 5770
Obviously I didn't play it at release, but roughly a year later. When it released I had some second hand single core 1.8GHz CPU with a refurbished GPU with an unsupported cooling solution.
Point is back then it played well and nowadays it stutters and sputters and dies a lot. But back then I wasn't as snobby with my hardware, so maybe my memory is playing tricks and it ran like garbage even back then, who knows.
Yeah playing SR2 now that I’m much older made me realize just how amazing this game was. As for the PC port, I’ve always had issues with it. When I was like 15 I could overlook them but now it was just too much. I could deal with the frame rate drops but the constant crashing is what did it for me. But that’s the weird thing about PC gaming. It works on some rigs but not others
@Juniper_Wippersnachesr is a duology, sr 3 got cancelled in 09 you can google it!

My father found a scratched but functional PS3 copy of SR2 without a case on the ground of a Home Bargains as if it were a gift from the heavens. I was also way too young for it but sneakily finished it anyway.

This game is amazing I love this game
One thing I'll add about the character creation was the fact that it was so ahead of its time because you could makes a male character with a female body and vice versa, you could also give either gender any voice and movement style and there was no gender limitations or clothing... And this game did this because it wanted to, not because people protested about it, the only thing people really wanted was the ability to create female characters, and they gave us that and more, they were definitely ahead of their time with that
That’s something I didn’t even take into account. I think since it’s a bit more common in games today, I didn’t think about how ahead it was in 2008.

I did want to offer one piece of constructive criticism: it really sounds like you’re reading from a script. Whether it’ll just take time or you need to practice it’s the most basic thing I can recommend you work on. Thanks again for your work!
Glad you enjoyed the video man!! Story has been the biggest hurdle I’ve been trying to tackle recently in my videos. I don’t want to get too detailed but I want to include enough necessary information. It’s challenging trying to find the right balance.
