Great Video. I'm getting a model y in 2 months. I live in a condo with no charging yet. You made me feel a lot better.

My nearest publicly available charger is over 50 miles (over 81 kilometers). I also live in an apartment without even a garage, let alone a charger. I guess I shouldn’t get an EV 😔

Thanks for making this video! We’re hoping to continue owning a Tesla when we move to Dubai in a few months - no expectations for a charger in our building. Feeling much more confident about this now.

Hey Siddarth, thank you for sharing this informative video. Although I'm not located in Dubai, watching the video has provided me with valuable insights into Tesla's capabilities and the possibility of maintaining it without a home charger.
I do have a question regarding battery degradation concerns when utilizing public charging, particularly supercharging. Currently, my weekly commute is within 400km, so I assume that supercharging once a week should suffice. What is your take on this calculation? Can I confidently rely on supercharging without significant worries about battery degradation for about a year until I find a place with home charging?

400 KM a week would probably mean charging the car twice a week. I do 300km and usually have to top one to 2 times a week . If you have.l access to a Dewa charging it should be fine, but just depending on the super charger can be a bit of a pain due to all the limos at the super charges these days

Hey Siddarth, thanks for wonderful tesla videos. I wanted to ask if you have done any paint protection / ceramic coating / tinting to the car and if its worth it? If you have done any fo them may be if you can do a video of it. The reason almost all suggestions by tesla owners are mostly biased towards getting all of them done which is very expensive. Your insight into this if you have done any would be helpful for new owners like me.

I did do ceramic coating on the car and on the seats and I put PPF on the lights and the door sills. I think I paid around 2500 at elite shine for everything. The paint on the tesla is not great , that’s why people recommend it but putting PPF on the whole car just wasn’t worth it to me.

Thanks for this. Really helps in making a decision. Didn’t know that superchargers are free in dubai. With no maintenance and no fuel cost , this is a big savings.
Can you also do a video on the premium connectivity and how much does it cost in UAE?

    • @varerkars

Does charging on Supercharger always would mess with the battery life.

In a similar situation. Wife and I own a condo and no charging here. Been charging via Supercharger not far from me at all. Have 2 less than 4 miles away. We have a Range Rover as well and, we both work from home and our use is limited to driving around town, here and there, some longer drives every now and then but...nothing crazy. We have a Model Y Performance because we don't really need the range. Keep me posted on what your building management comes up with and how you resolve the charging situation. (I'm in the U.S / NJ/NY though....no free supercharging! That would be great!)

I read that it is not good for the battery’s long term health to supercharger exclusively? Have you noticed battery degradation through the life of your car?

Gr8, thanks for the info. I live next to MoE, where tesla got super charger installed. But I see lots of cars waiting almost all the time. Is there a way to check about the availability of a charging slot for a super charger before actually going there ? Any app on phone or car that can advise the same ?
Also, I see many tesla destination chargers at hotels across the city, can those be accessed for free or is it exclusively for residents there ?

    • @srikanthm4397
      @srikanthm4397 ปีที่แล้ว +1

At present, there is no way to check. Even if there is a way, the slot will probably be occupied by the time we go there due to a lot of demand. Just time for off-peak time, like on a weekday instead of weekends. Regarding destination chargers in Malls, it is free, but in Hotels, usually, only guests are allowed at-least you should be visiting a restaurant inside that Hotel to use it.

Pretty much the same thing as owning a gas car without a gas station installed on your property

0:33 your wife in the backseat has the seatbelt around her and the small child. This is very dangerous in an accident. The inertia of the mother will press the baby forward against the seatbelt with such force that the baby will be cut in half by the seatbelt. The baby should be secure in its own restraint.
