Thank you Orla. Love the upside down thing. I do the picture framing thing with thumb and index. I love the skyline observe and draw, just simple lines can be so satisfying.... Alioban ❤
Thanks Alioban! Aw it’s a fun one :) right? Sometimes simple is just so good 💙
I just subscribed and look forward to watching many more of your videos.
Thanks so much 🌞 lovely to have you here!
😮 I’d love to do this I need to push myself to take that first step out with my stuff…… thanks for this vid…. When I just walk to the shops I’m always taking photos of things I see in nature but why not take some paper next time haha yep I will try this sooooon! 👍
Well done love, very inspirational .
Thank you! 🍃
Thank you.
Thanks for watching! Hope it gives you some ideas for drawing outside 🌻
Thank you Orla from Toronto, Canada. You have inspired me to get up on a local mountain...which in truth is just a large hill compared to your mountains.
That’s great, delighted about that! No adventure is too small 😃 thanks for watching & your kind comment
Great to see another artist who uses Plein air for a starting point! Great to have the insight into your process, and I love how inclusive and accessible you made it.
Hi Clare! it’s brilliant eh? Endless inspiration! Thanks so much, that’s exactly what I was hoping it would be for folks :)
That was absolutely amazing filming . You’re so talented 😍
Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed! :)
Great stuff! Can't wait for the next installment :)
Hi Orla, I really enjoyed that walk and chat, idling e to know what cameras and tech you employed to make the video. I try the same but carry way too much I feel, certainly tech camera etc, making the whole plein air filming adventure, cumbersome, heavy and. Uncomfortable . Cheers Paul
Hi Paul! Thank you :) of course; I’m filming all of this using my iPhone. I’ve a 13 pro, so I’ve been playing with the cinematic mode on it. I’m just using this, a mobile phone tripod and the editing software is premier pro :) only thing about filming on phones is you’ve got to make sure you transfer the videos to a hard drive so it doesn’t get totally full up 💫
@@OrlaStevens Thank you Orla, I wondered if Iphone or a Gopro, Holding it steady as you paint for me is the issue, not easy to do, thanks again, and best wishes
Paul
You’ve inspired me to get out of my studio and sketch 🤗 I’m such a hermit! Lol x - subscribed 👍😁 x
Aw yes, that’s amazing!! I’m sure you’ll love it :) x
Hi Orla, great video, very inspiring. Very envious of where you live, I’m just outside London near the M25 Dartford crossing 😵💫 very boring, but I do manage to find inspiration and plein aire videos like this are very encouraging 😊
Hi Lesley! Glad you enjoyed it :) It is beautiful here for sure - but I’m glad you’re finding inspiration where you are too! Maybe the zooming in ideas could be useful for finding pockets of nature & details in the urban environment too :)
Thanks for videoing - finding this fascinating. Downed tools on my printmaking and on a search of discovery. Probably a bit late in life to be doing this but now I’m not having to work full time I have a chance to explore. Looking forward to watching more of your process. Greetings from the far south coast of NSW Australia.
Hey Meg! Thanks for watching, and for your comment :) it’s never too late to make time for creativity & exploration; that’s really exciting you’ve got some time for it now! Are you print-making outdoors?
I love your pants with all the pockets! Where did you find them?
Thank you! These are the best things I’ve bought in a while :) they’re Fjallraven abisko trekking tights W - they have a few variations; this one has the pockets & reinforced patches with thicker fabric than the other version. Recommend the investment, as they work for winter too with thermals underneath :)
