- Join me in the studio whilst I paint, and share three reflections on how I’ve found focus in my work over the years. I’ve recently been preparing and launching tutorials for my Patreon & I’ve been looking back on my creative journey, thinking about the cornerstones to my practice. I wanted to share these three reflections, which have been turning points for finding creative focus for me across mindset, visual focus and concepts.
I’d love to know how you’ve found moments of focus & direction in your own work - let me know in the comments below.

your videos are so grounding, recently they function like u-turns: a movement back to my own practice. it’s what sets them apart from many other youtubers, where it’s not about the process but about a project, “how-to”. i so appreciate the slower, deeper approach! thank you. you’ll be seeing me on your patreon, sometime soon. X
That’s so good to hear; I make them in the hope that they help people reflect on their own work 😊☀️
Good advice. I see you make notes. I used to and then seemed to forget . Looking back at my work that I made notes on showed how it was useful so I must start again . Thank you.
I absolutely love writing - find it really helps me think through and grab onto the most important thoughts 😊
orla i could listen to you all day! love your work and process...
Aw thanks so much 😊
Thank you Orla! I often find myself recreating my impressions of the Australian bush and bay landscapes I remember from childhood. These memories are a mixture of colour, sound, texture
and emotional response to place.
They sound incredible! I’ve never visited (yet!), but from what I’ve seen the landscape looks amazing ✨
love the sketchbook pages with the figures :)
Thank you Ola
Lots of good stuff to think about and revisit. Thank you.
Thank you Julie 😊
Thank you for sharing your beautiful and expressive artwork.

Thank you Ola I so enjoy your videos.
Thanks so much Sonia! 🩵
I just discovered your channel and the way you approach landscapes is incredibly inspiring to me, thank you !
Hello! 👋 thanks so much ♥️
Wow! So much information and experience here to learn from! I think I’ll need to watch several times in order to absorb it all. Thank you so much, Orla! 🙏🏼
Thanks so much, glad you’ve enjoyed it! ☀️
Thank you, Orla! Love it...painting sound and tactile sensations. Also makes me think about interoception, and how I would paint what it feels like on the inside. So much to ponder and experiment with! 😎
It’s such an interesting area to explore, endless inspiration from inner worlds 🗺️
It is exciting to watch your videos! Next wednesday we are moving to Northern Tasmania where I hope to explore the wilderness. I am planning on using some of your suggestions for creative processes...I can't wait!
Oh good luck with the move! That sounds so exciting, I hope you have fun with it! 😊
