    Beautiful knife!! Can you tell me how to etch in detail? My 1095/15n20 doesn't come out dark black and white like your knife. I only use the ferric chloride..

    • @FireCreekForge
      @FireCreekForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I like to use a weak ferric chloride solution to etch several times until there is an easily distinguishable difference surface depth, then cleaning and soaking in strong coffee overnight will darken the carbon steel better.

    • @FireCreekForge
      @FireCreekForge  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      This was a "zero atmosphere" weld, since I sealed it by arc welding around the billet. That keeps the oxygen out so no oxidation occurs, and the steel can weld easily.
