I’m in the process of purchasing a 2016 W212 from my local MB dealer. It has 70k miles. Thanks to this video, I know I have to ask if the 80k transmission oil change will be covered by the CPO warranty.
Big issue with rusted rear subframe, I have a relative who had the rear subframe literally rust right through on a 2010 car when it was 10 years old, despite being regularly serviced on time at the supplying dealer and not noticed by them, although it turns out to be a known problem. he took it in for tyres and the tyre fitters advised him not to drive it. he called mercedes dealer and they recovered the car and fitted a new subframe under warranty. he bought the car new so anyone buying second hand might have to pay for this very expensive repair which if you research it, some people have been told it has never happened before while others had it covered by warranty. apparantly the car had been making some unusual noises and not handling as nomal, he sent me a picture to warn me but as I have 211 chassis with alloy subrame it does not suffer this problem. this is another example of mercs not being the quality they once were and anyone considering buying a 212 chassis needs to ensure someone who knows what they are doing has a GOOD look underneath it.
Excellent vid far better than the one from America, I actually brought a 2012 W212 yesterday , I paid slightly higher but its got service history known mileage and one driver only, what could possibly go wrong ! UPDATE one year on, i changed the front discs and pads, lubricated the handbrake quadrant under the back seat and now have an engine management light on, Which the test tells me its associated with low engine speed turbo boost, plus i have a dpf problem, So far i have bought two items cost £45 , will fit them this week, With hindsight perhaps a Ford would have been a better option. However the car sailed through its annual check no problems at the test time.

@@kyrkbymannen that sound is when shift points are wrong because hot and cold fluid has a very different viscosity. Benz uses low viscosity ATF oil, it is super thin and needs replacement at 50kMi. Bought a 1 owner E350 4 matic. About 4 yrs ago. Mechanical ok. Ride is harsh and noisy. Changed shocks and tires. Ran new tire about 2 yrs and changed them again . Not much improvement in ride or quietness. Body noises on rough roads. I've had a w209 Was flawless . An R170 flawless.. this machine w212 very disappointing. Quality ain't there..seriously thinking Lexus . MB has gone down hill.. IMO.. the materials are good just assembly more akin to old American cars.. 4 matic is good.
Nahhh it's cuz you picked the non air suspension version, test drive the exact same model with air suspension, you'll notice the massive difference in ride and comfort quality
that is a no issue car.....just make sure to change the transmission fluid at 60k....do not believe anyone that what it came with is a lifetime...its not!
The finance department took over, ROI plays a major role. If cars are too good, nobody earns anything. Makes me laugh at the ongoing discussions about sustainability. A Benz from before 1990 will serve you a lifetime when treaded well.
@@takeitsleazy6508 My E' class MY14 got rear ended at a traffic light. Fortunately it has that "colission assist" package option and nothing happened to it! Hardly a tiny scratch on the rear bumper from a 35mph hit. I could not believe how my car saved my neck, my back and itself from impact damage. 🤗
Love my 212 E350 bluetec. Super reliable and comfortable. Absolutely flawless with no issues. I will highly recommend.
Just bought a 2013 MB E550 4Matic. This video has saved me $$$ Thank you
My 2011 E550 has been bullet proof over it’s 85,000 kms. It’s fully loaded and was a $94,000.00 CDN new. No regrets!
I love Mercedes-Benz E-class, I love Mercedes 🔥🔥

Nothing... do you enjoy it? I'm getting a 2015 300e next week.
keep up with EARLY FLUID maintenance:
Rear differential,
Transmission
Engine phasers are picky about oil viscosity ~ 5w40
Engine coolant saves pump
Brake fluid prevents rusted caliper pistons
👍
I got mine last week and the alternator failed. The rest is OK, so far riding good all the way
W212 is one of the best designed Mercedes ever.
W211 is also still looking good to this day
@@EEPRODUCTIONSKLB So is the W212, I drove it this morning to get cigars. Wonderful
Thanks for the video mines a 2011 it runs great I love the car I also had the w211.
D K. V what miles is yours on ? In looking to buy one 2011 on 82 thousand miles was wondering about reliability
Sam Ridgeway their great cars just gotta keep up with the maintenance and it’ll run fine like a normal car.
I've been shopping between this and a 2009 mercedes w221 550
I heard that the 550 is an absolute nightmare engine for reliability....I was told to stay ...far away....
zeroceiling in 2009 they fixed a lot of the issues. Making the engines damn near bulletproof
Most comfortable only if you buy air suspension, ordinary aventgrad suspension are stiff like a rock
I really liked this review. I'm thinking if getting a CLS 250 CDI 2013 (pre face lift) what do you think about it?
Very useful review.
Thank you
E220 cdi w210 2001 but i think now it might be time to put it down after 450k km (280k miles)
And go for this one
Isn't it great these cars last so long, talking about being good the the owner and environment.
Thank you for being honest

guna go see the e50 cdi tomorow gassed
Can you be more specific when you say the gearbox needs to be replaced? Is that the same as getting the transmission serviced?
Beware for transmission and gear box
What's the problem with the transmission? Is that concerning Manual, Auto or both?

the direct injection high-pressure pump is run by the rear of camshaft
