This finally arrived at my house yesterday from Planet DJ ($699 US incl. tax and shipping). Purchased this because I had outgrown my Numark Mixtrack Pro and I wanted a professional-level controller with 4 deck control and built in performance pads. So far this controller is excellent - it has literally everything I wanted on-board (no need for using the touchpad on my laptop at all anymore, really nice to browse through all of Serato from the controller), and yet it's still compact enough to fit in my controller case. Thanks for the review, Kareem, you helped me a lot in selecting this as my new controller! It's a great value in its price range.
I’d love if Reloop brought out an mk2 version of this, with vu metres for each channel & the master & the pads below the jogwheels. It’d be pretty close to perfect then!
Hey Kareem, I have a couple of questions about this controller. 1) What does the "stutter" button do? 2) Do the knobs have a little click in the middle 3) Is the whole controller made from metal or only the top plate? Thanks!
With my NS7 to use the mic/aux I have to have Serato running. Does Serato have to be running on this controller or is it like the Pioneer ddj-sr and Serato does not have to be running to use the mic/aux?
Reminds me of the VCI-400 for some reason, just the layout. Reloop definitely glanced at the 400 in making this controller. No individual channel VU meters? No good IMo.
I just upgraded from the Terminal Mix 4 and I'm having issues. The voucher for Serato DJ was not in the box and my current version of Serato DJ wont connect to the controller. Reloop customer service is useless. I'm on the verge of repackaging the unit and sending it back.
if you are using windows then it is a driver issue and you need to reload the drivers and try again... other than that, i'm not sure. you don't need a voucher... just go to Serato DJ website and download and connect...
I saw you chose the Numark NV over this because of screens. But Aren't the turntables on this like way bigger? I just don't know if I should value the screen over the turntable since I try to do more traditional scratching
Phillip Hudshon Personally, I like the screens more, but I can definitely see why one would like the bigger jog wheels... It's all up to you and how you are going to play and use the gear. They can both do the same things at the end of the day...
hello There can you help i just get my Reloop TM8 I got it in Ebay There's no Cd Driver Softwear included and no Serato dj Softwear included i just wondering where i can download for driver softwear for the TM8 ?
Thanks again for a great product review video. Can you clarify at all how the Aux input can be used? Will It work with timecode, or are you just allowed to route it through the software to add effects and such? Also, wondering if the mic and aux will record in Serato... There still isn't a lot of info on this one, can't wait to get mine....
It's a shame they didn't add the individual channels to the back of the unit Hmmmm nice still I was looking @ this before I got my N4 but waiting to see what they got instore for the N4 just itching to see
Can this be used with 2 media players to play cds on the other 2 channels while controlling the tmx8 in Serato at the same time? So I can just cue in media players by ear
hi, thanks a lot for the review very helpful. Just have a quick question, I hope you can answer. Is there a way for you to provide the dimension of this controller? If you go online , they only provide the box size not the actual controller size. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.
Paul Sweeney I'd say they are more on the loose side of the Pioneer CDJ. I think they are looser than say a CDJ-850, but the CDJ-2000 adjustable tension could be lighter than this...
Should I get this one, or the Traktor S4 MK2? I dont care about Serato or Traktor, I just want to know which one you think is the best, when the controllers are compared. Thanks :)
To hear tracks in the headphones it has to do with the cue section and not the crossfader. You need to press the headphone cue button above each channel to monitor the track in the headphones. You then need to set the headphones to cue mode instead of master mode and you will only hear the tracks that you have selected as CUE. Hope this helps.
Dez Lee Controllers don't really allow you to mix video... The software does. If you use this with Virtual DJ or Serato DJ, then it can mix video... They both can...
Thanx bro im thinking to get one myself just when i play outside carring my djm 900 ans cdjs2000 its a pain in the arse. Real heavy stufd alao the djm 350 ans two cdjs 350 Take care
hi kareem. could i use this controller at a weddind event. also have you used the denon mc7000? thoughts of this controller to the denon mc 7000 which controller would be best
DJ RobFo'Real The front panel of the TM8 has selector switches that you can use to change the side of the crossfader that the channel resides on... So yes there is a Crossfader reverse in that sense...
***** thanks for prompt response! About to get one of these :) Wanted to know coz it wasn't in my local store, they will order one for me directly. keep up the good work on your reviews!
Ok... got a partner in trying to get from analog to digital... so many controllers out here now. He doesn't need entry level, but his budget is limited. Thanks for the feedback.
i don't know why these controller companies give you one feature on one controller and take something away at the same time. it always seems as if you have to give up one thing to get another. reloop has the led on the jogs on that usb powered beatmix unit and on the beatpad, but not on this unit. i already learned serato and traktor and do not want to learn djay just to get a beatpad. i wish this bad boy had the led jogs. i guess i'll have to stay with my vci-380 which gives me everything i want. cool controller though, just the lack of leds is a drawback.
hi....nice review....like always.:-) with "no standalone mixer option" you mean that i can't use it like a mixer between 2 turntables or other.??......thanks............anyway very nice controller......i want it.! ;-)
Yeah I know right! Geez. I really love this controller but that is a HUGE con...I'm trying to find something similar to quality and features as my pioneer DDJ S1 but anything close doesn't have a stand alone mixer...what do you use?

Oh and some inputs too!
A massive improvement over the Mix 4.

Nice video.. I like all the reloop products .. I'm glad they came out with a bigger controller. .

***** That's for responding. I reloaded the driver and got it to work.
How does this compare to a sx apart from the lack of stand alone capabilities?
Which would you say is the best for scratching, this or the vci 380? Can you crab with this fader?
I saw you chose the Numark NV over this because of screens. But Aren't the turntables on this like way bigger? I just don't know if I should value the screen over the turntable since I try to do more traditional scratching

Alright cool. Big thanks for another great video man!
where can I buy this product I can't find it any where?
Good review bro! Very thorough again.
hello There can you help i just get my Reloop TM8 I got it in Ebay There's no Cd Driver Softwear included and no Serato dj Softwear included i just wondering where i can download for driver softwear for the TM8 ?
Reloop's website and Serato's website. All for free...
Kareem how them cue and play buttons wise quality ? Thanx
DJ Booth, I have to choose between the reloop tm8 or the Pioneer DDJ SR... Which one would you recommend?
PS: sry for my bad english I'm german ;) :D
Couchm4n They are both pretty much equals... no clear cut winner here.

perfect, thank you again.... keep shining my friend
Moonshadow
***** Still waiting for this.... my supplier has told me they should be here soon.... hope it was worth the wait! Thanks again for the video...
It's a shame they didn't add the individual channels to the back of the unit Hmmmm nice still I was looking @ this before I got my N4 but waiting to see what they got instore for the N4 just itching to see
maybe it s too late...if i buy it now, will it works with ne last serato version or will i need to dowmload an old one? thx in adavnce
Check the serato website...
Yes it will.
Can this be used with 2 media players to play cds on the other 2 channels while controlling the tmx8 in Serato at the same time? So I can just cue in media players by ear
No, you can't add external decks to this...
hi, thanks a lot for the review very helpful. Just have a quick question, I hope you can answer. Is there a way for you to provide the dimension of this controller? If you go online , they only provide the box size not the actual controller size. Anything you can do is greatly appreciated.
+Savio Saltamontes Sorry, I don't have the controller anymore to give you that info. Thanks.
How stiff or loose are the platters compared to say the Pioneer cdj's
Paul Sweeney I'd say they are more on the loose side of the Pioneer CDJ. I think they are looser than say a CDJ-850, but the CDJ-2000 adjustable tension could be lighter than this...
***** cheers for the quick reply man :) once the platters aren't too loose.Thinking of getting this controller for djin in bars.is it worth getting
Paul Sweeney Yes, this is worth it... It's a very good controller.
Should I get this one, or the Traktor S4 MK2? I dont care about Serato or Traktor, I just want to know which one you think is the best, when the controllers are compared. Thanks :)
+No Na Neither is the best... only best per the software you intend to use it with.
Are these good controller's in 2017 do u think ?
How do you set up reloop tm8 crossfader to play with deck a than deck b So your not hearing both tracks at once in headphones ?
To hear tracks in the headphones it has to do with the cue section and not the crossfader. You need to press the headphone cue button above each channel to monitor the track in the headphones. You then need to set the headphones to cue mode instead of master mode and you will only hear the tracks that you have selected as CUE. Hope this helps.
Djbooth . I can use with a turntable ? As the pioneer DDJ sx2 ? My English is very bad , sorry
+fabian andres No, this does not work like a mixer as the DDJ-SX2 can... You cannot use a turntable with this.
As a mobile unit. Would you pick this over the pioneer DDJ SR?
No, I think they are pretty equal. I like the compact size of the DDJ-SR a bit more to be honest though...
Ok. It seems like this unit has more features. Can the DDJ SR mix video?
Dez Lee Controllers don't really allow you to mix video... The software does. If you use this with Virtual DJ or Serato DJ, then it can mix video... They both can...
I noticed you just happen to be using the same PC as me. How does it work with windows and overall with your Toshiba laptop?
great to know considering I will be getting the TM8 soon!
***** thats awesome to know it's more than capable to do so. Can't wait until I start getting into that level
Ok sounds awesome
Does this Reloop Terminal Mix 8 include all the serato seperate paid expansions
+STR8TeK9 No, none of the controllers come with all the expansions...
What does stuttee button does ? Thank you
It starts playing the track from the cue point and you can press it again to stutter it as many times you want.
Thanx bro im thinking to get one myself just when i play outside carring my djm 900 ans cdjs2000 its a pain in the arse. Real heavy stufd alao the djm 350 ans two cdjs 350
Take care
hi kareem. could i use this controller at a weddind event. also have you used the denon mc7000? thoughts of this controller to the denon mc 7000 which controller would be best
This is a good controller for performances, but the MC7000 would be better because it is newer technology with newer Serato DJ features enabled....
if serato dj crashed on my laptop for example can i plug in my phone into the usb slot and play songs off my phone
nope, not on this...
Ηι there mate,
what are the dimensions of the whole device ?
cheers
Which controller is better the numark nv or the reloop terminal mix 8
+Raheel Khan They are both great...
+DJbooth DJ's thnx for the quick reply
+Raheel Khan nu mark ns 7ll
Overall its wprth just for fun and mobile? Want it just foe serato and going mobil small event its real hard to move the bog djm 900 and cdj 2000
Yes, this will work...
Thanx you bro love your vids keep.it tight
Are the jog wheels touch sensitive or are they pressure?
Brilliant, thank you :)
can i connect if i want to add to the terminal 8 a vinyl player or a midi ? best regards from cancun!
You can add a single turntable as an AUX input but that's it...
Hey it's me again, how much does this cost?
so can i hook this up to my turntables
Sup man! Can you somehow reverse the mix-fader?
DJ RobFo'Real The front panel of the TM8 has selector switches that you can use to change the side of the crossfader that the channel resides on... So yes there is a Crossfader reverse in that sense...
***** thanks for prompt response! About to get one of these :) Wanted to know coz it wasn't in my local store, they will order one for me directly. keep up the good work on your reviews!
Can i use it with djpro algoridim for mac?
you can use dj virtual on this controller pls
can it play 4 decks of audio simultaneously ?
Yes!
***** how many cue points are there? and do i have all 8 at once? or do i have to press a button to switch between 1-4 and 4-8?
Dj Genius 8 and all 8 at once...
Nice! Thanks for the fast reply!
Great review/video!
Amigo, ayudame yo tengo el mismo controlador pero no puedo configurarlo con serato ni con ningún otro software gracias
puedes subir un tutorial paso a paso en español?? gracias
Great video
whats the price point (us) for this...
Ok... got a partner in trying to get from analog to digital... so many controllers out here now. He doesn't need entry level, but his budget is limited. Thanks for the feedback.
this or s4.? :-) your pure opinion...! like a controller......! let the softwares and else......i am in love with this controller....
y para serato video sirve amigo
i don't know why these controller companies give you one feature on one controller and take something away at the same time. it always seems as if you have to give up one thing to get another. reloop has the led on the jogs on that usb powered beatmix unit and on the beatpad, but not on this unit. i already learned serato and traktor and do not want to learn djay just to get a beatpad. i wish this bad boy had the led jogs. i guess i'll have to stay with my vci-380 which gives me everything i want. cool controller though, just the lack of leds is a drawback.
+langlang420 im torn between this and the 380 myself and its the lack of led and whether the fader is as good that's worrying me
How would this fair in 2019s market🤔
Not bad actually... It has the 8 performance pads on both sides and a good crossfader and great jog wheel feel too...
hi....nice review....like always.:-) with "no standalone mixer option" you mean that i can't use it like a mixer between 2 turntables or other.??......thanks............anyway very nice controller......i want it.! ;-)
No, this is not a mixer...
DJBooth Pro Audio i know that is not a mixer but you mean that?? anyway traktor s4 does??
This does not have standalone mixer function or inputs for turntables to mix with... The S4 does...
ok....thank you very much......anyway has an imput for one turntable........thanks again
does it have MIDI in/out ?
The review shows all inputs/outputs, but no. They do have USB MIDI though.
Can You use it with cdj's?
Shockwave Sure.
Thanks for quick respond :)
no replaceable fader as well
Good vid
What's up 😊
Chillin!
you effed up at 11:10...good review but wtf is really good w/ the way u pronounce 'Serato'???
Anyone selling one in 2023?
ill stick with traktor.
+soul winner for christ Traktor Sucks.
No stand alone mixer ......
I'll pass
Thanks for the review
Yeah I know right! Geez. I really love this controller but that is a HUGE con...I'm trying to find something similar to quality and features as my pioneer DDJ S1 but anything close doesn't have a stand alone mixer...what do you use?
If l buy a controller last thing l want to do is add turntables or Cdjs
I rather have a stand alone mixer and save space
Are the jog wheels the same size as the terminal 4 or smaller?
There XXL jog wheels
can this be use wt algoriddim?
