With a sinus infection you probably need antibiotics though, EJ and you can’t get that over the counter. Urgent care is not as bad as the ER. (Listen, I don’t like to go to either one of them either; I don’t like to go to my regular doctor, but sinus infections are not of God!!) Go ahead and try urgent care. You’ll feel better quicker. Praying for helaing for you! 🙏🏾🙏🏾

Dear Sista, I had the exact same symptoms in April. An I lost hearing in my right ear. It's mid-June...an I still can't hear out my right ear. Did antibiotics and nasal spray. I'm now waiting to see an ENT specialist. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

I passed out at work a few years back from a two day bout w/ food poisoning. They took me to the ER in an ambulance. When I got the bill I told my co-worker “If I ever fall out again just sit me out there in the vestibule and call my mama” 😂

Of course they ignored my response so - when I arrived at the hospital and was waiting for someone to see me, I called for my friends to come and pick me up and take me home

I’m a nurse and I always say unless I’m dead I’m not going to the ER. Period. Cuz when u get there ur gonna wish you were back home.
I gotta be sick as a dog. I had food poisoning once that was sooo bad I knew I had to go and get fluids. It has to be that bad or unbearable pain.
And in NY.....minimum of 8 hours.

The only way I go to the Er is that my pain level is not registering in my body anymore because, like you stated, everything is a charge. I drop my husband floor safe on my feet. I know I waited about 5 hours for them to tell me you could go home it's not broke are fracture take something for pain . I was heated all night for this d**.😮😮

I tore my right rotator cuff lifting weights at the YMCA, my wife told the fire fighters who were picking me up off the floor to walk me to our Camry and we’ll follow the ambulance to the ER cuz “thats another “$300 and we going to the same place” 😂😂😂 love that woman

@@pamelamajor1566 the one I use is decent. I reserve my appt online. So I don't wait as long. They definitely are hit or miss. But it helps when my pcp is closed on weekends.
It depends, I went to an Urgent Care about 2 years ago. The people were friendly but the room I was in had the filthiest floors in the corners, I vowed to never go back there. I will say there had been numerous businesses there prior to the Urgent Care but still.

I recommend going to the urgent care. They aren't as expensive as an emergency room and they can write prescriptions. You don't have to suffer
And ones connected to a hospital can admit and transfer you when a bed is available, if need be

If my PCP is not in the office, I'll see whoever is there. Usually, it will be a nurse practitioner. ❤
As a healthcare professional, I prefer a Nurse Practioner. I find them to be better listeners and more thorough than most doctors. I am blessed with a fabulous PCP, she and her entire team are awesome 🤲🏽🙌🏾
@@sweetlife320 I have definitely gotten better care, and more accurate diagnosis when I have seen a nurse practitioner than a doctor. They absolutely listen better. My last few visits (and next few) have been with the nurse practitioner.
I NEVER go to my PCP. They don’t care, point blank period. NP are so much better and all I use. Been doing this since 2002!!
My mom always tell me when I start to get sick with a cold, which is rare, but she would say start cleaning. There's something about filling the sink with warm water with a splash of Clorox and Pine-Sol and wiping things down - door knobs, countertops, all household objects. Something about it makes you feel better quicker.

@@katelinparks9536 🤗 That could also cause respiratory issues. Just depends on how much is used. Only need a drop of each in water. I know using Lysol with Hydrogen Peroxide will cause extreme respiratory discomfort, so don't use it, or ammonia, etc. She might want to try a natural approach. The goal is to tackle the sickness before it gets worse.
If I go to the ER, I'm leaving in a hearse. Those charges kill me!
But all of them are not open 24hrs.

So I have a chronic illness (sickle cell) Aside from chronic pain, we endure acute pain so bad that we need to be admitted. A lot of us HATE going to the ER mostly because they don’t know anything about sickle cell and refuse to use national guidelines to help treat us. We will wait weeks or months in pain before going to the ER. By the time we get there, we feel like we’ve been hit by a few freight trains and our limbs are holding on by a thin flap of skin. Thankfully, there is a sickle cell ER here in Atlanta I am go to. They know me and know that when I come, ain’t no faking or drug seeking. They see and treat me right away.
Oh that is a beautiful thing to have a Sickle Cell ER. My mother had Sickle Cell and she would be in so much pain and the nurses would sometimes be so disrespectful and lacking of sympathy.
I once had a sinus infection, rsv, double pneumonia, tonsillitis and streph throat,all at once.
That's a special level of hell

Cvs minute clinic does telehealth and they take insurance. You can have an appointment in 30 mins from the comfort of your home. They are open until 10 pm and are working on 24 hours. :)

Had a wicked migraine and drove myself to the ER. How about when I got the bill, them Mofos charged $250 just for registering.
Thank God, i was under my ex-husband (married at the time)military insurance. And didn't have to pay a dime. To this day, i still say it was the best part of being married to his sorry cheating ass.. ooops!! I digress!😂😂

I feel you bout the ammalance and ER. After an ambulance ride to ER, then Being ignored in one of them little ER rooms, I had to call 911 to get them to call ER nurses station to come help me (chest pains). THEN I got the bills. Mercy! Praise God for favor and insurance.

I've only been to the ER once... AND ONLY ONCE! My primary care physician gave me some sample blood pressure medication to see if it would lower my BP. Three days in, I had a seizure and completely spazzed out at a Japanese Buffet Restaurant. I rode in an ambulance, which was cool except when I got the bill for it. Moral of the story: Don't take "sample" medication and if you have to go to the ER, take an Uber or a Lyft, or the bus, or hitchhike but don't take an ambulance.
If you are gonna take an Uber, DO NOT GET BODILY FLUIDS ON THOSE SEATS or you could get charged 300 dollars!

I have to be feeling pretty badly/on the verge of pneumonia to go to a doctor for a cold. I usually stick with home meds, vapo rub, and a neti pot 💯

Hell To The No. The last time I went to the ER by ambulance. The bill was so high it was like a student loan. Took me for ever to pay it off. And that was in the late 90’s. Can you image what the cost is now?

My insurance carrier literally told me to stay out of the ER unless my heart stopped, my lungs collapsed or my kidneys failed. They give me a list of every urgent care in NY and NJ.

Baby!!!! Went to the ER because my blood pressure was elevated (I don't have blood pressure problems so I was very concerned). I went to the Urgent Care first... They turned me away... Long Story short... ER... $11,000 bill!!!!!

Urgent care can be useful if the doctor isn't available. As soon as I'd get a sinus infection or an upper respiratory infection, I was told to do hot liquids, use a humidifier to help with breathing, drink fluids and rest. Hope you get well soon 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤

I love my Urgent Care facility… it’s easier to get an appointment versus going to my PCP!
I had a guy at my job think he wanted to go by ambulance cause he was hurt. I explained I just got a bill from the ambulance service- $2500 for a ten minute ride to the hospital. I told him he would do better to clock out and take himself (injury not causing a gaping wound). I don’t go to the ER or urgent care unless I absolute have to. Grandma’s home remedies can usually get me through until the doctor’s office opens.

I don’t do either of those anymore…online visits are the way to go. Answer the questions, get a diagnosis and medication in about an hour.
Girl!! UC is the move for me. I went last month, had a double ear infection at my big age. I went in there got them scripts, picked up my meds & was on the road to better in 3 days.

Feel better soon! I have gone to urgent care, but their fixes are usually temporary and you have to see your pcp anyway. But they have more availability than your pcp office and longer hours.

Yes to UC. An insect bit me a few summers ago and my leg swoll like a balloon. UC to the rescue. A few years later, they confirmed for me that I had Covid during the time of all that mess. Go Urgent Care!

I used to live down the street from a hospital and I never had to go. Soon as I moved away, I needed an ambulance to get me back to that hospital so I could have a baby. Even before we moved there, I needed an ambulance to get to the same hospital to have a baby. Those ambulance trips are expensive.
I had pneumonia in the summer a few years ago. Nothing worse than a summer cold! Get well soon.

Urgent Care has SAVED MY LIFE!! I HIGHLY recommend you go, E.J. -- especially if it's a sinus infection. You may need an antibiotic. Please don't wait -- especially with all the traveling you're doing.
Welllll, I just put Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of my feet, put socks on and go to sleep. Works like a charm for me🤸🏿♀️🤸🏿♀️. Feel better 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I live in Vegas and we have, what seems like, Urgent cares on every corner. There is a particular urgent care, "Care Now", that my husband and I use when we are ill, random things that come up (I fell for the second time in June and am dealing with a sprained ankle and went to Care Now for that), or when we can't get in to see our PCM at the military medical center, which is a 30 minute drive from us. In our experience, Care Now facilities are great. You can make an appointment online, so there normally isn't a long wait, they do xrays and other tests, and the doctors and nurses are knowledgeable with regards to diagnosing, treating, and prescribing meds. We only use the emergency room for actual emergencies. My husband went, also in June (June was a hard year in our household) for a saddle embolism. Thankfully they diagnosed it quickly and it was removed the following day. Hope you feel better soon!

I go to the urgent care a lot. But my pcp and urgent care are in the system and office. Plus, the co-pay is the same.
Usually the urgent care (as long as it's your network) will have a reasonable co-pay or price. I recommend them to get stuff taken care of quickly.

Urgent Care is t bad EJ. Charges are reasonable! Gargling is still a thing and vitamin C, chicken noddle soup with a really good broth- all the “old fashion” remedies. 🙏🏽

I've been to urgent care once, after my actual doctor told me it would take sveral business days to get some test results back before they could treat me. But I was there because my throat was closing and I felt like I was slowly suffocating, so I couldn't really afford to wait *several days* for a treatment. Urgent care ran my test and sent me home with the proper medicine in less than an hour. After that experience, I kind of prefer the urgent care 😅
I unfortunately was at the ER for 12 hours this past Friday(passed out at work). I hated every moment! But they got me medicated and well by the time I woke up the next day

I was sick last week and I called my primary care provider and they were closed-I’ve never ran to urgent care so fast before in my life. I rarely get sick and last time I was sick was in 2021 with c^vid and what I had last week c^vid! 😣Get well soon EJay! ☺️

I have had great experiences at urgent care, and it’s been waaaaay less expensive than the ER! Urgent care is perfect for stuff like sinus infections, stomach bugs, and similar.
