Lyrics
There she stood in the street
Smiling from her head to her feet
I said hey, what is this
Now baby, maybe she's in need of a kiss
I said hey, what's your name baby
Maybe we can see things the same
Now don't you wait or hesitate
Let's move before they raise the parking rate
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
I took her home to my place
Watching every move on her face
She said look, what's your game baby
Are you tryin' to put me in shame
I said slow don't go so fast
Don't you think that love can last
She said love, Lord above
Now you're tryin' to trick me in love
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now
All right now baby, it's all right now

Nothing can compare to 70s music scene!!! Never to be repeated. You had to live it.
🎯🎸👍
I lived it and I'm still living it, nothing comes close !!
@@robertmartin7594 i lived it bringing up my children but loved all the songs still do and im 74 x
I'm 66 old now, but Free are still one of my favorites ... I could cry a little...miss those times...Regards from Croatia 🇭🇷
I believe Paul Rogers was quoted as saying bands like Free and Raspberries were the rockin’ American response to all the Progressive Rock that was coming from the UK. I remember all the rich kids who used to smoke pot and listen to Prog all day. Loved this band and later Bad Company.
one time I wrote a positive comment on TH-cam about Free.. and Paul Rodger’s himself replied, and said “Thanks, Matt”… I couldn’t believe it !!!!
Sure he did 🙄🤔🙄
☝️ what he said
right on
"Thanks, Matt".....now wake up and go to school!
Me neither!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂
In 1970 my friend and I where walking on the beach. it was a fabulous sunny summers day. All Right Now was playing on a radio. We where young confident and on the prowl and we soon spotted two gorgeous girls. One blonde the other had long dark hair. I said to my friend "I'll take the one with the dark hair." How smug where we when we where young eh?😀 We clicked right away and eventually I married her. I'm 75 now and every time I hear that song it takes me right back to that day.😀
That’s a great story mate....75 and still together....I’m the same 75 and still with the love of my life since I was 17yrs old...( listening to all this music has kept me young 😂)...The brilliant Free, and then Bad Co.....along with Sabbath, Deep purple, Led Zep, so many great bands......👍🏻...I just ask Alexa and all the old stuff fills the room...🎵and keeps me head banging!....🤟🏻
In 1970, i was pooping in my diaper.
"Mines the brunette" ...worked for me too...51 years married 🙂
Great memory for you
Congrats on meeting your soul mate! And what a great song to be playing when your paths first crossed!!!
One of the greatest rock and roll voices EVER!!!!
He and Ronnie VanZant, Ronnie I have read had great respect for Paul and patterned his self from Pauls stage performaces.
One of them!
Absolutely!!!
For me, the greatest ever!!!
Imagine being able to sing like that, my god, unreal
Hey, we are all still here. Loving music, one another. We made it🎵✌️
Yes, we are! Fifty years ago we promised to love and respect each other and we still do. I’m so proud of my friend for life, my husband. Just celebrate the good moments. Turn to the light, like sunflowers do!
Hanging by a thread!
Hell yea we are!❤
Aaaah, the days when bands were full of talented people.!!
A GENIUS OF A SINGER, WITH A SIMPLY SUPERB LINE-UP BEHIND HIM, GREAT MUSIC, GREAT DAYS.
Spot on with that! Best time of my life, and for the music!
I remember the first time I heard this in 1970 and was blown away! I still love this song and group and I'm 77 years old now. Good music never gets old.
Snap. I’m 78. Good luck mate.
Yea bro
You old buggers I,m a 72 yr old but Free was a great band
No never. The Beatles is the bestest band ever. I'm 68.
I love 10 years after too.
Absolutely brilliant performance by a vastly underrated band. Rodgers still sings now just the same as he did then. The best white blues rock singer ever.
you are right there. rodgers is the beez neez!
Yes, I agree, cheers 😀🍷🇩🇪🎉
Not to put a dampener on it whilst I agree Paul's bassy, gravelly voice is the best white blues rock singer ever, Grayson Hugh has to be a close 2nd.
74 yrs old still love the song no im not in an old peoples home 😂
Great miming performance yeah 😅
Meet Rodgers in a music store in my home town with my little girl who was taking guitar lessons. He chatted with her and took our address to send a cd to her and she did recieve it. Very humble awesome man. Thanks
We people that lived through the 60s 70s 80s are the luckiest people in the world these were and never will be again the three decades of the most Brilliant music ever and they were safe and happy times too. We should be so grateful I loved those years.
I can only agree up to a point. Sure, I have lots of nostalgia for that time, but as a woman and a member of the lgbtq community I sure didn’t always feel safe and happy.
Those three decades were a time when the planets and stars lined up for us of those generations. The ultra wealthy have sucked all the life out of everything they put their greedy mitts on. So sorry for all succeeding generations.
only in the 70,s dont ever let someone tell you they were dull, best times ever sadly never to be repeated
I agree
The most creative decade in music, in all genres
Graduated in ‘73, and I can tell you this is the perfect date song. Dangerous, but perfect. 🫣😍
@sunnycharacter - I graduated in ‘72 and my high school boyfriend and I loved this song…played it full blast while riding around in his beautiful Chevelle. I lost him three years later to a car accident, but this brings back great memories.
@@larlar8580 Yes, I graduated in ‘73 in Fremont, Ca. Man, these songs really are timeless. So sorry for your boyfriend’s passing.
@@sunnycharacter thank you❤
Probably the most underrated band in the history of rock and roll. Incredibly talented musicians.
Andy Fraser one of the greatest bassist of all time. Also co writer of this song.
KOSSOFF WASNT BAD EITHER.
Bass lead on Mr. Big doesn't get much better.
So young too.
That Bass is my favorite part of this song
He wrote all right now and the stealer and my brother jake
I taped this off TOTP back then, and played it constantly. I could weep for those years, no one except our generation will ever know what 70-75 was like, and it was all thanks to guys like this.
Paul Rodgers has been my favorite singer for more than 50 years. How wonderful to see him the way that he was: up close and in colour. ❤
I went traveling in 1971/72 with Free's 'unofficial' photographer Lucille and lived their music for a year....and ever since. Hiya Lucy.
This is perfect! I wish they had stuck around longer! Old music is the best! I should know...I'm old!😂😂
I'm 59 and I came of age in the 70s and 80s - glorious time to be alive. FREE and a host of other awesome bands were the backing tracks to my life. Thank you all and more power to you.
I'm 65, Total joy listening to an utterly brilliant band, I want to go back, NOW.
I loved Free so much. Paul Kossoff was just the most brilliant and influential guitarist, and such a charming, fragile young man. 🙏
And we thought music like this would never end.
Been listening to Free for over 50 years, still remain one of the Greatest British bands of all time..
What a fantastic live version of a true 70’s rock classic!
It's not live ...
The vocal was live I think. You can see and her a few mistakes in the timing. Around that time the musicians union had some rule about some part of any songs sung on TV had to be played live.@@coolmacatrain9434
TOTP, notoriously lip synch.
Great to hear this '70s rocker. A time that was truly Free.
This is by far the best version of the 1969 song
This has been my FAVORITE to crank on the car radio and sing along pretending I'm the girl smiling from my head to my feet
And at 73, I'm still cranking it .❤
Can we get together Jennifer, I'm 65, and have a" FREE" NIGHT, MAXIMUM VOLUME, THAT WOULD BE SOME GIG.😊😊
Born in 74. I had teenage brothers and sisters. Heard this song all my damn life! So awesome! Their sound was so authentic. Real bands, not studio bands like now.
Greatest blues'rock band EVER and greatest rock vocalist EVER Mr Paul Rodgers
I agree Paul Rogers has a superb blues/rock voice. However James Dewar (Robin Trower Band) was a beautiful blue eyed soul/blues/rock singer. Understated with a drop dead gorgeous tone. Look him up singing “about to begin”. Superb lyrics to boot!!
@@gawnmcilwaine2896 Yes, but he didn't have the range Paul has. Listen to "Laying Down The Law" when he was with the group The Law. Try singing it. I was in a band. I could sing James Dewar/Robin Trower stuff easily. I had to start so low trying to sing Laying Down The Law because he goes up about four octaves and I almost couldn't talk after singing the high parts. A great album almost no one knows about.
Gregg Allman is the greatest white male blues singer. Love both Rodgers. However, I can’t even compare Free to the ABB
@@cindyinnew You are correct about not comparing the two bands. Free was blues and rock at its base/core. As raw as it gets. The opium of those types of music. Four guys, most times only three playing an instrument. I love Gregg Allman and preferred his solo version of Midnight Rider. But he didn't have the vocal range of Paul Rogers and the Allman Brothers band was six guys, sometimes more, all playing instruments.
@@danabuch324 but we were talking “blues” singers. As far as trained vocals, Rodgers was much better. For raw, truly blues vocals, Allman stands alone
I wish Paul Kossoff could have been with us longer. What a rare talent!
Agree with you 💯! Kossoff talent was heaven sent! 🪽🕊️🎸❤️✨🙏🏻
This is an era of music that just cannot be surpassed. Paul Rodgers and Free define the era of real bands and individuality - cannot be beaten by anything of today.
I was 17, and had just Enlisted in the RAF. I came home on leave and was in my mothers kitchen with my then girlfriend who when this came on the Radio for the first time. I became a fan of Free on the spot. I said to my Girlfriend at that moment. "Thats gonna be a number one" LoL. One of my all time favourites. Along side Whole Lotta Love. Free was my most listened to band though. It's not often you remember exactly where you were and what you were doing, when you first heard a Song. Good Times.
Paul Kossoff.Sleep sweetly angel 🎸
Das waren noch Zeiten, als die Mädchen natürlich schön und Jungen männlich waren.
Die frühere Musik war voller Freude, Inspiration, Motivation und lyrisch. Soetwas kommt leider nicht mehr wieder. ❤
That drum and guitar hook is an ultimate classic! Paul a top notch vocalist
The greatest Rock & Roll voice Ever....
Without doubt the best male vocalist of the 70’s in my opinion
I got to see Paul Rodgers and Jimmy Page along time ago with firm. Paul Rodgers and Burton Cummings probably two of the most underrated voices in rock n roll. Great song, good find!
I absolutely love the Guess Who and Burton Cummings.
The Guess Who live at the Paramount is one of the best vocal performances ever.@@milt6208
My choice among the underrated is John Kay of Steppenwolf. They had dozens of supersongs, not only "Born to be wild"
My choice is Harry Nillson
70's baby
Paul sounds as amazing today as he did back then. The man has aged very well and still kicks ass with Bad Company. 😎👍
Lord have mercy! Paul had a golden set of pipes and looks to match. His voice has the perfect amount of grit, such a soulful sound.
Missing the odd note now and then😮
My favorite song when I was 12 years old. 54 years later it's still one of my favorite songs.Great music is timeless
A talented man with his great Voice.
This great song is heard more today in commercials than it was on the radio in 1970 !
And I really don’t think the NHL read the lyrics before they decided on ARN as a promo song.
Paul is one of the best singers ever and so was the band!
Well said mate.
My, how we've all changed. My hair was near my waist in those days. Now I'm near 70 years old and almost bald. I can still appreciate the music, though. That will never change.
Kossoff. Absolutely overlooked legend.
So legendary he can slide a note up the neck without moving his hand 😂 check it out at 2:12
Check out the last note in his solo too. He slides it down the neck but the high note keeps playing some how 😂
😂 totp usually had bands miming. He's still in my top 5 though.....
@@dodibenabba525 He's superb no doubt. Great tone and tasteful. What a classic Marshall and vintage Les Paul should sound like 👍. But remember back then to get the Marshall to break up like that it had to be cranked which meant NOISE when you weren't playing. So I'll give them a pass. Also it was him playing in the recording anyway
@@user-nz4kg4wm9j did some good stuff with Back Street Crawler too
Ah yes, my lovely wife’s favorite band. One of my favorites too, along with Bad Company. Paul Rodgers is at the top of blues/rock singers; his voice is instantly recognizable and pleasing to the ear. Great to see this old performance.
What does she look like?
@@afistfulofpimples1745 Well, I think she’s as lovely as she was when we were in high school dating. That was almost 50 years ago, so opinions may vary. Not mine though.
Good answer.
I always share these videos with my sons so they’ll know what how REAL, exceptional musicians sound like. i’m disgusted by auto tuned vocals. Miss the ‘70’s.
Thank you Paul Rodgers and Free --------- this really was the time of my life ------- going down to Cornwall on holiday with friends -------- EVERY pub had this blasting -------- The best possible memories ----------- UNBEATABLE
Perranporth - summer 1970 and this stunning song. Thanks, 'Free'. Regards from Blighty :).
Best era for music ever. Such a wide range of bands, genres and creativity.
Heard this multiple times a day in my high school cafeteria, years 1970 and 1971. It should have been our class song
Met P Rodgers and S Kirk in 2002 after a Bad Co show. Both were incredibly polite and cool...
One of the very best bands ever
I love free
Pauls voice is amazing and koss just a genius on guitar
Drums bass the full pack
Some unbelievable songs and at there best live
This was wonderful! I hadn't seen this footage before. Paul is my favorite singer ever, and for my money, he's the best lead singer in Rock history!!!
Your right nothing compares to the 70,s music and I did live it and oh man how I lived it!!! It was a Glorious time. I am 67 years old and still listening, playing the 70,s music every day and too the Fullest. How I miss the 70,s !!! , I wish I could go back in time and live there forever!!! The 70,s Baby!!!. I ❤ everything about the 70,s and miss everything about the 70,s . Sex and drugs and rock n roll. Christie Pit,s little Italy , the danforth , the west village, high park, sunnny side beach, the beaches , the Ex , centre island. What a life, what a time the 70,s !!!

Absolutely magic..the 70's was a fantastic era for music whatever genre it was all just amazing ..this one..oh my lord..a classic..the pounding beat of the drums..the high pitching of the guitar and the absolute banging rock voice of LEGEND Paul Rodgers..a perfect rock/pop song..this song epitomises the word..BANGER 😂
Nothing beats the live performance from isle of wight 1970
Back when the music was soul soothing and made you feel involved in it. Still stiring emotions in people.
My all time favourite rock song, and i was around in the 70's. I've lost count of the number of top bands i saw live in that era, sadly i never got to see Free.
Awesome beat and song 🎵 nothing compares to the 70's talent in every genre of music❤
Best single ever. Any band, any era.
Wore out my first copy - looked around for months to replace it!!! Eventually found an ex-JukeBox copy with the middle punched out.
Prized possession ✊🏼
Paul Rodgers was the vocalist for an extraordinary bad to the bone band called Bad Company and continued to sing his wonderful range of powerful performances giving women like me songasms ❤❤❤❤
Love Paul Rodgers voice. ❤❤🎉Holly
One of my favorite all-time songs. And I've been around for 71 years.
So glad I was young then and not now. Kossof what a loss to music of our era. Thanks for being free when Free were a reality.
Miss your voice and talent Paul Rodgers!
I was 9 years old and I vividly remember watching this on Top of the Pops. Paul Rodgers, what a voice and this song is one of my all time favourites....❤🎸😎✌️
Timeless.. Free one of the greatest bands of all time!!
Thats what talent looks like!!!!!
THIS is the song that takes me back to where I wanna be. When the body was good and the mind was free.
Remember driving to work in 1970 and listening to this song on the car radio ...... great memories !!
I remember this classic. And what better name for a band than "Free" ? Hell yeah.
Seriously one of the best songs of the 70’s!! All through my High school years we grooved to this and danced our little butts off!!
50 years later he's still singing great.
I'm a 65 yr old Black woman who LOVES this song! So much soul!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
You've got got great taste in music, Lorraine, this band were truly brilliant.
One of my favorite bands and one of the most underrated bands. RIP Paul Kossoff and Andy Fraser.
Free were Legend back in the day. Paul Kossoff and his Gibson LP put together some of the most famous and most played riffs of all time. RIP Paul, taken by the evil of drugs when he was just getting started. Way too young, so sad..
His Gibson looks so used already. I wonder what its history is. Unusual colour as well.
That is sad. He wrote in rhis song one of rock's best known 4-bar hooks. Fascinating how the camera managed to avoid a single shot of his left hand.
The 50s,60s,70s, and 80s were the greatest years ever for music and muscle cars. Back then we didn't have the internet and cell phones. Back then you built your cars and trucks. You rocked out with your friends.
@@kildarealeksen4140 Yes indeed, you're right.
@@RebelRoseJade Sorry, you already mentioned the 80s.
@@kildarealeksen4140 It's ok you don't have to say your sorry. I had thought about doing it anyway. We 😎 🆒️
@@RebelRoseJade Thank you for your kindness and for being kind.
@@kildarealeksen4140 You're very welcome my dear. A little kindness goes a long way. My parents taught me to treat people the way that I would want them to treat me.
They were incredible, as indeed Paul Rogers still is. RIP Paul Kossoff.
Danced at 15 now 68 still dancing to this song, fab , Love from the UK
Rodgers is a great frontman i always loved his style good cruising music too😊
Are my eyes and ears deceiving me? This looks as LIVE as it can be! If so, how did they get it mixed so well for a live stage performance back in the day? I can't imagine that re-mastering it today would have turned out this good.
I don’t think it’s “wholly live” … Paul is singing, but during the lead break there is a second guitar playing chords here and there, and then the last sustaining note of the lead break continues well after Koss removes his finger from the fretboard. Some of the early Bad Company promo clips (Can’t Get Enough, Feel Like Making Love, Good Lovin Gone Bad) were similar, ie live vocals and some playing, but over a backing track. Nonetheless, great to see any clips of Free and Bad Company, legends and my absolute favourites.
@@glennpacker8161 Do you mean right around 3:20? I can see that. But ya know...for my own enjoyment it really is the vocals that makes it or breaks it for me. If my brain catches any discrepancies between what I'm seeing and what I'm hearing out of their lips, then I just can't enjoy the show at all. Paul's vocal quality is great in this performance! So I'm happy to see that the live vocals were captured here.
I also agree with you on Bad Co too!
@@rip0219 from about 2.30 onwards in the lead break, there is a second guitar playing and the sustained note discrepancy is at about 3.16. You’re right vocals are great and they are live for sure.
Paul's Vocals are 100% live the drums bass and guitar obviously aren't live
So many great memories attached to this, Kossof what a riff, what a loss.
What an era and compared to today we were indeed FREE.
Paul Rodgers is a legend, and at this stage he's untouchable.
The phrasing he throws out here makes me smile all over my being.
Best times were the 70’s!!!!💖💕
Greatest singer ever
Absolutely iconic song, and one that never, ever fails to make me smile.
THE GREAT FREE ONE OF THE GREATEST BANDS EVER AND PAUL RODGERS ONE OF THE GREAT ROCK VOICES.

A great live set from Free, playing the definitive rock anthem of 1970s. Happy days.😊
What an iconic beautiful, and soulful voice, I'm in awe.
