As a Spanish man living in Britain, I really miss the ya veremos attitude. Here you’ve got to arrange to meet someone three weeks upfront. It’s utterly ridiculous, I can be dead in three weeks.
I'm a Spanish girl and I can confirm the emotional outbursts are true, for men and women. I've noticed that we also tend to change our mood very quickly, go from tears to laughter in a second. I can see how confusing it can be for a non-Spaniard.
For the non-Spanish speakers, be prepared for compliments that you will consider offensive. The Spanish speakers tend to be more blatant but in a good-hearted way. So when a Spanish-speaker calls you my little fat one o mi gordito/a it doesn't have negative connotation.
The intention might innocent but calling someone a word related to fat (fatty, chubby, etc...) still has a negative connotation since they're mostly used in a derogatory way because society portrays anything outside the beauty standards as bad and ugly.
Yeah, in the English speaking society. Please spare me your PC lecture because the Latino/Spanish cultures are very different from British, U.S. American, Scandinavians where certain words will trigger a person.
Yeah, I call my sister negrita so do I with a lot of friends and no one gets offended, now try that in an English speaking country... It might be because of racism, I mean, there are racist people in Latam, but most of us are not, so that's why calling "negrit@, gord@, flac@, etc" is a good-hearted thing to us than a racist one.
Alex N. yeah here you can call some like little fat one even if the are really thin and is pretty much like saying Babe or something similar in English. You say it to your partner or close friends and it's not negative at all.

Yes we do not plan things a lot thus we are not that stressed when things don't work out. We'll see later-when? well some time ahead ....😊😊
I just disagree in one point: the reason why spanish men do live with parents until later it is different than "maturity". In Spain, families have a daily life together, they have lunch together, go for parties or celebrations together, and many times even work together (family business are really common). Also the members of a family help economically each other. It means that if you lose your job, you can go to live with your parents, grandparents or other relatives, and it is normal. And the main reason is... housing prices in Spain are REALLY HIGH if you compare them to salaries. Very often, to rent a small apartment in a big city may cost the 60% of your salary. So families save money living in bigger houses/apartments and sharing the costs. And this is nor unconfortable for young people because it is quite normal to bring your friends or partners at home, spend nights together and so on, even if your relatives do not know that person. In general spaniards are not shy and they take it easy if a stranger is sitting in the table having breakfast at their home.
I know Spanish guys that come from well off families who were bought their own places by their parents to live in when they turned 18. The common thread is that these places tend to be walking distance from their parents, and that they visit them to stock up on "tápers" (tupper wares) full of food their mothers make them, cause they can't even fry an egg and tend to take all their dirty laundry to their parents' so they will do it for them. This normally goes on until they get married. So while I agree with you the housing factor definitely affects emancipation, the "mamitis" and lack of maturity in Spanish men can be asserted when they have been given the chance to emancipate and still need everything done for them by their mom's (or mom's "maid"), as in all those guys I know.
@@ChicoCabra yes, but women do the same. In Spain nowaday, it is easier to find a young man who can cook than a young woman. @@ESPjump I thought we were talking about Spanish men. In my experience Spanish women are much more self-sufficient than Spanish men. Or maybe you're too young to have experienced and observed these differences. Beatriz Why is the spaniards are so looking good? It's from the Mediterranian because of the greek, the italian is the Roman Empire you gonna know about this in history and geographic subject.
ยุทธพงษ์ วงศ์อภิวัฒนกุล Wrong romans didn't leave a big genetic impact to cause such a mix in the Iberian Peninsula. It was mostly the Celtics. That's they are more related to Celtics. They call them Celtiberians. Especially North of Spain.
Chris M well, that is not true either, Seville-Mérida, Sagunto-Tarraco and Segovia-León had lots of migration from central Italy during Roman times, Seneca, Trajan, Hadrian, Theodosius are just some of the most famous Roman descended Spaniards in history. Mérida was built for the legionaries and generals to retire and was entirely inhabited by retired Roman soldiers from central Italy and their families! Bætica (one of the 4 Spanish regions in Rome) with capital in Seville, was directly under rule of the senate even during the empire, holding a especial status like that of Italy, precisely because of the huge migration from central Italy, emperor Trajan or writer/philosopher Seneca were from Bætica. Segovia had lots of rich families from central Italy who owned lands and villas, it is the case of emperor Theodosius’ family... In any case, it’s actually irrelevant because Italics and Celtiberians belonged to the genetic group, the Italo-Celtic (R1b haplogroup), which makes up more than 75% of Spain’s gene pool. *That is the problem, northern Italians and Romans were actually Celtic peoples too!! Not the Greeks though, Greeks and southern Italians belong to the J2 haplogroup from eastern Europe.*
Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian mothers are all the same. lol "I made you some food, eat, you look skinny "," I washed your clothes" , your bedroom is a disaster, clean your house!" 😅
depends. I'm Portuguese and my mother did not do those to me since I'm like 16. She forced me to learn how to cook and gave me house shores to share the burdens.

Very true in most ways 😉. My ex is Basque, and I have visited numerous parts of Spain numerous times. I love it there. However, in my experience many Spanish people actually like to have a plan to have fun, and attach importantance to getting things done quickly - so they can have more fun 🤣🇪🇸. Dating Beyond Borders Spaniards smoke a lot, they are very loud in groups. Alot of them live at home well into their 30s. Most of them wouldn't bring someone home to sleep over if they live with family, they'd find other places to get it on. They speak their mind, they are quite fashionable

As a Spanish guy I have to say that the part I feel more identified with is the "Plans do not exist. Ya veremos" one. Rest of them can really change depending on people and regions within Spain, but from my own experience, in most places around my country, no one, ever, has a plan
As a Romanian i totally can relate to "ya veremos" ("we'll see" English) and the emotional outbursts :))) I remember i was dating a Ucrainian girl and she was stunned by my emotional Rolle coaster and the no planning thing :D

Women live with their parents till late too. Appartments are crazy expensive, a lot of people are unemployed or have only temporary and/or part time jobs. Until we can finally land a good job (in our late 20s or early 30s) we eventually move out, but we still see our parents every week when we go for lunch on Sundays or Saturdays. I'm confused. The subtitles for Spanish are already there...
What about polish woman/man? :(
Could you do Korean man/woman?
To be fair to spaniard men, there is no disco or pub open until 11 pm, so going out before that hour is just pointless!
I'm spanish, my parents are too and i've been living in Spain all my life... THIS VIDEO IS SO TRUE
+Saiko Chan wooohoo! Happy to hear:)
Finally!! I'm spanish and i thought it was really accurate and really funny! I loved it, thank youuu xx
You are super welcome!
so similar to us Italians!😂❤ love Spain
Spanish guys are so good looking😍 greetings from your neighbor, Portugal❤️❤️
Beatriz Why is the spaniards are so looking good? It's from the Mediterranian because of the greek, the italian is the Roman Empire you gonna know about this in history and geographic subject.
ยุทธพงษ์ วงศ์อภิวัฒนกุล I don't have history anymore tho...
Understood.
Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian mothers are all the same. lol
"I made you some food, eat, you look skinny "," I washed your clothes" , your bedroom is a disaster, clean your house!" 😅
I think we can generalize it to all South Europe like Greece and Turkey
depends. I'm Portuguese and my mother did not do those to me since I'm like 16. She forced me to learn how to cook and gave me house shores to share the burdens.

I'm laughing so hard, these actors are just brilliant. This might be my favorite video from this channel!
Ahhhh! AWESOME!!!!
These are super-actors, the Spaniard is so cute but could hardly disguise as a Latin American, he is so white and then the accent. Some of our men in South America may be like the character but not all of them ( Argentinians! Colombians! Brazilians! and what about Cubans!), People from the Caribbean are usually hospitable and warm, smiley folks.
Spanish men remind me of a weird fusion of English and Italian men.
Despair Spreads Like a Virus oh god so ture 😂
No you are wrong we English are nothing like Italians or Spaniards. We are not romantic and we don't use expressive language often we are more direct. Spaniard: "your lips are like bread".... Right ok what ever the fuck that means. English: Get ya fucking rat out for the lads oi oi oi!!
jason stone The gawky awkwardness and the crazy football obsession that distracts you pillock. I said they were a fusion of English and Italian men. I didn't say that English men are like Spaniards.
Can't you read English. Or is it ard for ya mate? I ain't ere to urt ya feelings.
Best description ever!

I enjoyed this video so much ! As a Spanish that's been abroad for over 10 years, this video brought me back so many good memories. A perfectly accurate portrait of Spaniards.
I’m from Turkey, I love Spanish person!!! SALUDOS DESDE TURQUİA ❤️
Do the moonwalk please
Love it!!! Jajajaja the guy is so funny!!! I am Spanish and they are quite like that😂😂 I am looking forwards to seen the female version! Gracias Marina!! 🇪🇸🇪🇸
De nada! Really happy you liked it :)
I'm not spanish but my mother's family side is from Spain and I can say this is 100% true
OMG as a Spanish girl this is actually SO accurate!!! I never thought you'd be this precise! I was scared you'd portray us with weird stereotypes I'd never heard about, but you guys nailed it!! 😂👌🏻
This is amazing to hear! I was nervous about making this video seeing as how diverse Spain is and every single Spaniard would tell me "Well.. we are very diverse.. In Andalucia it is like this.. in Asturias like this.." But it worked out! In a large, large part thanks to the actors in this.
Dating Beyond Borders we’re not that different deep down, it’s just politics and regional traditions
-you're saying I'm like bread? 🧐
-no, you're better!!
I'm dying laughing😂😂 greetings from Italy
Spaniards are smoking hot and passionate 😍 I would like to date one someday 😍 Spanish is the most beautiful language in the world ❤️ Saludos desde Serbia ❤️
Found out my boyfriend is part Spanish. (He's Peruvian. We both took one of those DNA tests.) That explains a lot.
@@devinreis5811 Yeah, very passionate, outgoing, warm people. Most of Latin American people have Spanish blood because we are of native and Spanish Conquistadores descent. Greetings from Lima.

Devin Reis your personality isn’t from your distant Spanish descent. I’m pretty sure SPANISH people of SPAIN are passionate because of the culture of Spain that they were raised it
Никад,само Србин за мене
Very true in most ways 😉. My ex is Basque, and I have visited numerous parts of Spain numerous times. I love it there. However, in my experience many Spanish people actually like to have a plan to have fun, and attach importantance to getting things done quickly - so they can have more fun 🤣🇪🇸. They are also very dedicated to the arts - it's not all fiestas, futebol and friends - but you should have added "fireworks as loud as dynamite" 😁😁😁
Basque men are... a different thing
Yes, we are very different from the rest. If someone expects romanticism from a Basque who looks for them before in a Swedish man.
You are no different, many basques are romantic and such, but most of the north of spain isn't, that includes basques
you are the same, sorry

This comment is confusion.
She had me rolling in laughter in the final scene. That expression of confusion and horror too funny.
Someone give this guy an Oscar!! Hollywood needs him.
I was laughing the whole time, i think it portrays them very fairly. Y SOBRE TODO thanks to make a diference between spanish and the latin men.
The reaction when he thinks he's lost the car keys, 1000% accurate
4:00 every single friend from Spain that I have lolol

Tengo que admitir que esa parte es la más realista, yo mismo me cabreo muy rápido por cualquier chorrada. Saludos.
Yes finally I have been waiting for this video
This actor is better than fucking DiCaprio, where the hell did you get him? I was cracking up the entire video!
RonMD hes actually the average looking guys here in Spain haha
RonMD I wouldn't say he's hot, we have a different concept of beauty
I love him! His personality made him attractive
It is a funny story! An actress I was casting to play the Spanish girl sent me her work and I saw him in a scene. He was so good that I asked her to give me his contact :) And voila!
376 G I wasn't talking about his looks, guys. He has incredible acting skills, in my eyes, and played the part extremely well :)
Wow? Dinner at eight??? That's early in Spain
The guy was such a great actor
I'm a Spaniard girl myself and most of the things were hilariously accurate 👏😂
Filming a YKYD Spanish woman this Sunday! Any thoughts to add before we film? Your point might appear in the video ;)
Dating Beyond Borders When she gets offended by you assuming that she'll take your surname when you get married.
Dating Beyond Borders Spaniards smoke a lot, they are very loud in groups. Alot of them live at home well into their 30s. Most of them wouldn't bring someone home to sleep over if they live with family, they'd find other places to get it on. They speak their mind, they are quite fashionable
Afraid of commitement
Oh they get jealous so easy!! Like all my spanish friends get super jealous and create super weird videos in their minds of how their guy is "cheating" its crazy hahaha; I had to calm then down 😅
We are crazy and passionate about life :P at least I am! And we are NOT, NEVER changing our last name(s) for anybody... It sounds ridiculous for us!
OMG I died of laughter 😂😂 I'm from Madrid so I have dated Spanish guys and as Marina says, the video is a generalization (one of my exes didn't like football at all for example haha) but it is accurate in quite some things and it's really funny! I loved it, great job done. And the actors were really funny too 😂👏🏻
Thanks!! Yeah - we had a good group of people on set. It helps having a bunch of Spanish people with you leading you as you direct since they help me get those details better. Anyways, happy you liked it :D
I would love to see a video about Spanish women, Puerto Rican Women, Dominican Women and Cuban Women.
Maria C Which one are you?
Latin Caribbean.

Cuban women are the loudest creatures on earth. But not all of them.

I've been dating a Spanish guy for almost 5 years; pretty much everything in the video is accurate, especially the part when the mother's doing all the washing and cooking whilst we're in bed. Shout out to my Spaniards!! One of the sexiest nations in the world! xx From a British-Nigerian xx
@So Called Black Man Sorry, what?? What does than mean?
@So Called Black Man And why is that? Let me know..
@So Called Black Man -sigh- That was a long time ago...
@So Called Black Man You may be right; but I won't take that out on a normal Spaniard and call him/her the devil, simply because the Spanish government does not want to allow independence to some nations...
I’ve been to Spain before and I loved it, and yup Spanish guys are so handsome 🥺😍
OMG THIS WAS HILARIOUS
We portuguese are really similar to Spanish!
I dont get how foreigners can eat so early!!! Like before 8 is wayyyy too early!! And we love to just chill after eating
I guess southern european culture really is unique
And I love that actress' accent! It's so adorable
Cute ! But, when they did the video about the Portuguese man, so many comments on how good looking Portuguese men are! A verdade!
They are quite similar in many ways actually. Going from Portugal to Spain you see quite a few similarities! Happy you liked :)
Marco-António Squires-Reis e Moura hahaha seem duvidaaa
Dating Beyond Borders indeed! We are pretty much like family (tho we don't like to admit it and feel offended if u mix us)
And yes I really did! Ur videos never fail to amaze me!!
I'm English but I grew up in Spain, and for me 6 or 7 PM is way to early too! Especially when you have weird contradictions such as Summer days ending at around 10 or even 11 PM in some parts of the UK.
The actors are so adorable in this video, I will definitely visit Spain
This is quite a good video. I mean, I'm an Spanish man from Madrid.I personally don't find myself identified with a lot of things in the video, but it's archetypically fucking hell accurate! Specially the "ya veremos" and the outbursts.

Mental breakdown at 3:55 is really well played, very scary 🫣
When he lost it over the keys then found them, then he hugs her! Her face fucking killed me i must have watched it 100 times, just hillarious! Great acting superb lmao..
As a Spanish guy I have to say that the part I feel more identified with is the "Plans do not exist. Ya veremos" one. Rest of them can really change depending on people and regions within Spain, but from my own experience, in most places around my country, no one, ever, has a plan
Commitment issues? 😂
Spanish men are gorgeous. My last and only true love was a Spanish boy. I don't think Ill ever forget him
As a Romanian i totally can relate to "ya veremos" ("we'll see" English) and the emotional outbursts :))) I remember i was dating a Ucrainian girl and she was stunned by my emotional Rolle coaster and the no planning thing :D
Hehehe, seems is a latin thing.
Omg that football thing is SO true. I lived in a dorm in Uni with plenty of students from Spain and they were always playing football or watching football and yelling at the TV with their friends
I'd add one more thing: if you're in a company of your spanish boyfriend's friends and you don't speak spanish, you can never know if they're having a nice chat or fighting crazily, cause they speak so loudly, with gestures, standing up, etc... 🤣
LOVED IT HAHAHAHAHA We need a whole video just for Spanish compliments hahaha in my town we say "eres mas bonica que un tractor recien pintao" (you are prettier than a fresh painted tractor) hahah

Its not the best place, the uneployement is incredibly high, it depends too much in tourism, making it dependant from other countries

We usually move out of our parents's place but within the same town or city or to a nearby one. We are very family-oriented.
