From my experience as an immigrant living in Spain for quite while I would say that Spain is very tolerant to everything and everyone. These people seem really nice and accepting. I visited Madrid recently and found the people to be so friendly. I'm Irish living in Germany and Germans are like the polar opposite: cold, mean, racist, obsessed with making immigrants do everything a specific 'German' way. It feels like being in prison. I would love to either go back to Ireland or see if I could move to Madrid. Is it a good idea (I know it's hard with jobs but I mean socially, culturally)? Can someone from abroad become a Madrileño?
When in Rome. I think it's arrogant to expect otherwise. In Germany, you should follow the German way. In Ireland, follow what the Irish do. Likewise in Spain.
Why would you leave Ireland for a country like Germany ? Ireland is an upper second world nation. Germany is a mid level second world country. Ireland is almost as good as America or Canada or Australia. Germany is far crappier than the U.S. or Canada or Australia 🤷♂️
When you compare Spain to any other european country you see that immigrants integrate to a much greater level. Specially Ibero-americans as they are closer culturally than any other country (even EU ones). Immigration has been overall positive, however the increase in violence has to be acknowledged and cannot be tolerated. Countries that get this last point right thrive (Denmark) and those who don’t are doomed to fail (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, etc)

One story I heard was about a young Mexican girl that was studying in Spain and got along well with the locals. When she was asked about her origin, their demeanor changed when they found out she was Mexican. They apparently said awful things about her behind her back, calling her and her accent dirty and uneducated.

I think this video proves how nice Spanish people are. One of the best nationalities ❤️
Where from?
Thank you for that episode, quite interesting
When you compare Spain to any other european country you see that immigrants integrate to a much greater level. Specially Ibero-americans as they are closer culturally than any other country (even EU ones). Immigration has been overall positive, however the increase in violence has to be acknowledged and cannot be tolerated. Countries that get this last point right thrive (Denmark) and those who don’t are doomed to fail (France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, etc)

I’m someone who is taking steps towards staying in Spain(probably Cataluña), and I don’t want to say or do the wrong things. Are there certain things that foreigners say or do that annoy Spaniards?
Does it have to do with the local politics, history, or anything else that foreigners would be unknowingly ignorant about?

@@SolverCyn-vx1kv Thank you so much for replying! I’m just curious if there’s things that foreigners say or do that might be different from other countries. I’m a 20 year old man from America, but my ethnic background is Mexican.
I have no personal experience with this, but I’ve heard stories from other Latinos(mostly Mexican and Peruvian), saying that it’s hard for them to be accepted socially because of prejudice against them.
One story I heard was about a young Mexican girl that was studying in Spain and got along well with the locals. When she was asked about her origin, their demeanor changed when they found out she was Mexican. They apparently said awful things about her behind her back, calling her and her accent dirty and uneducated. From then on, it was hard for her to make friends
There are other stories similar to that one, and I would be lying if I said these rumores didn’t scare me. Would it be better if I said I was just American? Is there truth behind these stereotypes that I should be aware of? I don’t want to disrespect the Spanish culture and I’m afraid I will struggle socially.
I would appreciate any assurance that these stories are either rare, exaggerated, or only true with certain people(maybe older and more traditional people).
Again, I mean no disrespect if I came across that way. I just want clarification on these stories. And if they’re true, I want to know if there are things I can do to avoid people like that, or change certain behaviors that could upset people.

We have had not much problems with foreigners but there are definitely several groups that have a bad reputation in Spain.
The influx from Pakistan, North Africa and Middle East is received with hostility due to history or recent events.
Brits, they’re one of the worst tourists a country can have. And they’re arrogant without a good reason. Not the most popular foreigners.
Germans. They’re tolerated since, as tourists, tend to be rather polite. But they’re not particularly loved because they think they own Mallorca and the ones we’ve visited Germany haven’t felt welcome (nobody feels welcome in Germany to be honest).

As a foreigner; I do not like Germans and their Germany, the French and their France
Traen más cosas malas que buenas . Más conflictividad, más suciedad en las calles, los servicios con menos recursos, abusos, … realmente me parece un atraso
*I'm from Morroco and I don't love spain*
I wonder when Spaniards are gonna realize alotttt of Latin American Latinos don’t like them💀 if you don’t know why do some history
We don't really care if u like us or not. Most of the countries have been invaded by others but nobody are as annoying as all of u about the same thing. It's boring. Get a grip.
It seems like people like that lady really don't care what you think. She literally said Argentina and Chile are welcomed but made no mention at the other Latin American places
@@asturiasceltic3183 its coz the people from chile and argentina are mostly white. Spain is and always will be white supremacist.
Se proclama inmigrante la que se fue a Irlanda. Qué garrula. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Emigrante de España, Inmigrante en Irlanda. ¿No?
@@Asgaard No.
@@nakatakafka ¿No?
