But new public goals seems convoluted.

Nice review :) This is actually the second expansion to Sagrada, the 1st one is the 5-6 player expansion.

I think the lower points comes from all of the symmetrical goals. A lot of the window pane cards just simply don’t allow you to do these goals very many times because of number/color restrictions already placed on those spots.

If it is overall harder to score points with the expansion, I fully believe this is on purpose.
This lends a challenge to players experienced with the game.

Let's say that you are right and points tend to be lower with the expansion, why should that be a negative? You just have to adjust your scale of what you consider to be a good score depending on what rules you are playing with. Unless there's some complicated formula, generally speaking, doubling the point values of everything in a game does not actually change the game in any real way. At best, the effect is psychological. IT would be akin to changing Baseball so that every time a person makes it home, it gave you 10 points instead of 1 point. In the end, it doesn't change who won or lost the game or the flow of that game. You simply have to adjust your perspective of how many points you are likely to end the game with. The scale is different but it doesn't do anything with regards to game balance.
Hey, if it's really that important to you, simply play by custom rules where you multiply everything by a million. You'll be raking in the big points like crazy.

Good review, although I prefer Tom’s style of referencing viewers to another video to see how the base game plays instead of going over it again in the review of the expansion.

Yeah, especially when the explanation is so hurried that it misses key points (favor tokens, which he covered later)/creates false impressions (his die placement examples left the impression that the template provided the only rules for placement. I kind of cringed when he indicated the green 4 could go in the green spot or the 4 spot adjacent to it). I don't think it's horrible but if the person only knows of Sagrada through that it can make some aspects of the expansion explanation confusing.

You can’t place a green 4 next to that ‘4’ square sam

I'll probably stick with the base game.

Sagrada has always had a weird way to score points. The game is completely random when it comes to getting points. The dice rolling, drafting, and placement restrictions always make scoring more difficult.

Stating a negative of scoring less points but not explaining why? Ok

"I just love to score a bunch of points".

AlexeyTea that does not explain why the point scoring with the expansion is lower.
