    Laughed about having to spend $60 for the rod holders. Really good review. A lot of good points. Comparing this to the Perception Outlaw 11.5

      @@triggerhappyreviews they seem pretty cool. They are holding one of the venom SS107s for me. I haven’t been able to find one anywhere so it was pretty cool of them to hold it for me until I could get there tomorrow.

    Nice review. I’m new to kayak fishing and have been looking at upgrading to either the 127 or 107. You touched on key things and the cons where very good. I like the size of the 107. Thank you very much!

    Been looking into getting a fishing yak. These seam to have pretty good reviews all around for the price. I REALLY like the depth finder setup you have there. Thats awesome.
    I see you saying about the yak being heavy. I Want to do more research and weight is def. A concern of mine, so thank you for pointing that out. I'm interested to see where other, similarly priced/rigged systems weigh.
    85 pounds sounds light to me when considering the amount of yak that is there but you have me wondering how this one stands up to others in the same range.
    Thanks for the review, I guess the bottom line is that you said you would buy it again...that says a lot.

    Luther Cifer owns both Bonafide and Yak-Attack. The omission of many standard things is to get you to buy his accessories.

    I AGREE 100% ... IF YOU'RE GOING TO CALL IT A FISHING KAYAK,AT LEAST PUT SOME ROD HOLDERS ON ! ! ! . I LOVE MINE BUT MAIN GRIPE IS... IT COULD TRACK A LITTLE BETTER ... WHERE THE PADS ARE ON THE SIDE .. I PUT YAK ATACK TRACKS ON .. WORKS REALLY NICE.

    My biggest disappointment about my ss127 was the fact that it did not come with rod holders. I paid to install flush mounted rod holders on both sides, but I agree it should have come with that.

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. There’s no reason 2 rod holders couldn’t have been included.

  • @PrestonMartin
    @PrestonMartin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Fair review. You didn't call out the tracking at all unless I missed it. What's your take on the tracking? I'm fine with no rod holders. It means we get to buy the exact ones we want. It is lame the junk drawer isn't included since it's so inexpensive, and basically everyone would want that IMO. Cup holders... I'm not really sure. I find I hate molded in cup holders in basically everything I've ever owned. They are almost always in bad spots or a bad size. Again, at least we get the size and location we want.
    I have the ss107 in the mail on the way to my house right now.

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So to be honest I can’t say how great the tracking is. It’s been so windy this spring I’ve been blown all over the lake. It seems good from what I can tell.

    • @PrestonMartin
      @PrestonMartin 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@triggerhappyreviews Right on. I've heard the tracking is just okay. Can't wait to find out. Man I feel you on the wind. I got so tired of it this spring I stopped fishing one of the lakes around here... not permanently of course.

    • @booblah5378
      @booblah5378 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the tracking is bad on the 107 in the wind the back end will swing out. I have a ss107 myself and it can get frustrating. Having said that, the the flex wings or the rudder makes a world of difference. totally worth the money.

    • @fulllifeadventures
      @fulllifeadventures 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      boo blah interesting, what do you mean flex wings?

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can buy wings that attach to the stern of the boat that help with tracking. I ended up adding a rudder. Worth the money.

  • @CrazyCranker

    Great review! And good point about the no rod holders. From my experience though, I can kind of see the manufactures point of not including them. Most of the time when they do include them, there in the wrong spots and just end up collecting water in them. That fact that you do have to add stuff like additional tracks and rod holders lead me to believe it's over priced from the start? This being a paddling kayak, how is the paddling?

    Great review!

  • @tonyjones9057
    @tonyjones9057 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    One additional major disappointment is the way it handles in the Wind. I did solve this problem by adding a power pole to the back and anchor wizard with the 8 lb downrigger ball that deploys at the front. Great paddle kayak after a few additions

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree with this also. I added a rudder to combat the wind. I like your ideas also. I think it’s because of the high sitting position that the wind is such an issue.

    • @tonyjones9057
      @tonyjones9057 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@triggerhappyreviews I don't think it's the high seat position because they came up with the wings that you attached to the bottom of the kayak now. Bonafide found out that when you take one paddle stroke it will cause kayak to completely spin around in one direction. I found it to be true also, try it and you'll see. I opted not to get the wings, I have enough control.

    Hi great video. I want to use this kayak for leisure. I love the design. Nobody addresses what I want to know and hopefully you can shed light on this. How fast is this kayak? Do you have to work real hard to go a decent speed or does it cut through the water easily? Thank you.

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly it’s pretty slow. I always paddle in the high seat position. Maybe in the lower position it would be better.

    Good review. I'm looking to upgrade from my 10' lifetime tamarack. Do you think the ss127 is a better buy than the ss107?

    • @triggerhappyreviews
      @triggerhappyreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. It’s all about what size boat you want. They’re essentially identical otherwise.

  • @miguelgomez7707

    You lost me on the rod holders, sorry, but if I’m going to spend that amount of money on a fishing kayak I would expect for it to have at least rod holders. I’m convinced on getting the Wilderness systems ATAK 120

      It’s like $1400 and is not remotely close to being fishing ready. The outback is the better option.
