    Very sturdy kayak. I will always encourage everyone to go to demo days in your area and test ride all the kayaks the outfitter has.

    Just bought the 127, first kayak I've owned or ever been on. Couldn't more pleased. Stand up with absolutely no problems, very very very stable and comfortable. If your a big guy like myself this is the boat. I weigh 280lbs. and I can stand up and move around with no problems whatsoever.

    Good walkthrough. The Bonafide folks have really thought through a lot of the issues that come with fishing from a kayak and managed to also solve the stability/speed conflict or at least reach a compromise. I was skeptical when I heard they were coming out with a shorter model because wonder whether tracking was reduced--they claim it is not. Would love to see you do another vid of this thing on the water to demonstrate its stability and maneuverability. I am seriously considering the shorter model because I don't want to deal with the extra weight of the 127 if I can get the same stability/tracking in the 107.

    My wife and I bought a few last year moving water outfitters in Indiana. We took him out last November for a test ride and we’re finally able to use them this week well we’re camping. I put an Adarac on my Ford F-150 for transportation because I’m pulling a camper. Absolute great set of kayaks and most important they are made in America.

    Just what I have been looking for. Gonna buy one. If my wife can navigate it, I will buy another. Now I have a truck rack to buy to haul the yaks. Because we haul a travel trailer to our lakes we fish! Love your informative videos fluke.

    Really great walk through Gene. I have paddled both Bonafides and a lot of other kayaks, including 10 footers and I agree on this being the most stable and well designed 10 foot fishing platform that I have ever paddled. A truly great boat for rivers, small lakes, in shore and for many different sized people. Bonafide did well in this design and I was sure to let Luther know that at the YakAttack tournament. Again, great review and walk through Gene!!!

    Hey Gene: For 8 years, I've been very happy fishing on my Tarpon 100 (10 foot kayak). It weighs 55 lbs and to me, I would not want anything heavier. That said, I only weigh 125 lbs so you can understand why the SS107 is overkill from my perspective. But I do love its features!!!

    I'd like to see you in the water on the 107 standing and fishing. I'm a big dude as well and just purchased hased the 107. I have stood up, however I'm not sure on setting the hook yet while doing so. I'm also not fully confident in turning around to grab something out of my tankwell yet either while in the high seat position. I plan to really test it's limits when the water and air warm a little more, but would like to see other bigger guys and their capabilities in this size boat. I was between this boat and a Jackson Liska and took a chance on this one for the seat height and alledged stability, especially in flat / calmer water. Good videos!

    I think this is the one I want. I only have a small hatchback car to transport all my stuff so the 12' isnt Ideal for me. The price isnt bad considering the design of it. I like the open body idea for storing rods and what not as that's 1 less thing to go inside the car.

    My buddy's looking at this model because he blew the bottom out of his other kayak. I'm a canoe enthusiast myself, but this is an impressive kayak.
    One thing I've noticed is a lot you kayakers are standing up in these things. I see it on TH-cam and in demonstrations. How is a kayak safe enough to stand in?

    It's almost like bonafide fixed everything that sucks on other kayaks

    • @BassManStrikes
      @BassManStrikes 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only thing I really like on the Bonafide is that the bottom is pretty flat and it does not have a rear keel, so it looks like it would be easy to drag. There is not that much that sucks on my SeaGhost 130 except it's difficult to drag because of the pronounced keels, which of course makes it pretty fast.

    • @BassManStrikes
      @BassManStrikes 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I heard they have a lot of issues in the wind because of square and flat backend. Looks like it really needs a rudder to fix that.

    • @MynameisBeebe

      Reaper except the hinges the Bonafide storage compartment has. Not impressed they will break. But Bonafide will replace them as well. Hull design is decent same designer designed the Wilderness Systems.

    The drag test needs to be done with a 200 lb dummy in it. A boat bearing no load is gonna hold up infinitely better than one with 200+ lbs in it. Other than that this thing looks solid. I want one.

  • @zackmorehouse
    @zackmorehouse ปีที่แล้ว

    What about a ss107 vs rs117? I like the 117 for a simple throw and go setup and don’t think in need the in hill storage. I am 6’ and 220 pounds looking to just take 4 rods and 3 Plano boxes.

    How does the Bonafide SS107 and SS127 handle class II and III whitewater compared with the Coosa HD? (yea, I realize class III would be "exciting" with any of these...) I know you have a lot of experience with the Coosa HD and it was high on my list until I discovered the SS127. I do quite a bit more skinny water than I do lakes. Thanks so much for any info you can share.

  • @pringals
    @pringals 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the vid Gene! Been back and forth between the two and keep holding out for someone to do a side by side comparison of these two in a slow river with a bit of current. I loved the video Luther and Hans put up on their facebook page a month or two ago showing the SS107 on the river, but wish they'd do the same for the SS127. I fish a lot of ozark streams, but also lakes. I'd say it's about 30/70 stream/lakes. I was initially wanting the SS107, but I was disappointed in the left out features of the SS127. So I really want to know if there is that much of a performance difference between the two for little rivers and streams?

    Thank you for the 107 review. This may sound silly but is the total length of the boat ten feet? Here in Minnesota a boat over ten feet must be registered and therefore taxed. With your electronics mounted in the dry box you can move it from boat to boat. is there a pedal unit that will fit that opening? Last question. Have you considered mounting the transducer in a scupper hole ? Always nice to see your videos and thank you for your service.

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's 10'7". There isn't a pedal drive for it and with being able to mount all my electronics on the Dry Box I never saw the need to mount the transducer in a scupper but I'm sure it could be done.

    has luther or anyone ever thought of designing a keel wheel, set, similar to the feelfrees, instead of the skid plate? one on both sides. I know, chad put his through hell, for the sake of showing longevity, lol but, with the design of the hull, and a fully loaded yak, it would make both the 127 and 107 a dream to pull around.

    I've never run electronics on a Kayak or boat, but would the transducer survive rocks? I got fishing every year in the Shanadoah River in Virginia. We are always running through rapid, banging and scraping against rocks, getting hung up in the rocks. Would the transducer survive all that beating with this hull design? Or could I take the transducer out before I hit Rapids?

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Being that it's a little lighter and has less room to store things that cause more weight I see a lot of people that have small vehicles or do a lot of running around and fishing get them.

    • @johnjosephreed
      @johnjosephreed 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply! So if it's one boat to own, and river/creek fishing is half your time on the water, you'd still run the 127?

    • @Flukemaster
      @Flukemaster  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I use the 127 because it can carry all my camera gear along with my fishing gear and has more places to mount cameras. If I was lake fishing most the time I'd fish the 127. If I was river fishing most the time I'd have the 107. If I was pond hopping a lot I'd have the 107.

      The paddle well. The get pushed pretty bad from a tailwind. Get the Flex Wings with it and that will be solved. They turn very good.

    Is there any chance of getting one of those kayaks donated to someone who is disabled and loves to fish. On their bucket list is to be able to fish without being on the bank. Thanks!!!!!!
