Jimin started in contemporary - he dances barefoot a lot. He's either barefoot or in two-inch heeled boots 😂we don't see JK barefoot all that often though. In the old days he was always dancing in timberlands and later in heavy combat-style boots 🤣 I love that you shouted out this song and Not Today together - they're the two songs I turn to most when I need a dose of defiance! I appreciate your attention to detail and how much time you put into your analysis. Thank you!
Thank you so much for taking the time to watch and I’m so happy to have been able to give this track the attention it deserves!! Someone on Patreon suggested that the barefoot theory may be because they were also promoting black swan at this time! And I know that one was barefoot!
@@jess_holyfield Yes! They were rehearsing the live performance of Black Swan at the same time. We've seen Jimin wear freaking chanclas during dance practice for hard choreography. The man makes MY feet hurt just watching him.
That is incorrect. Jimin started with hip-hop and not contemporary. He tried it out at school (age 13) and liked it so much that he joined a dance academy. The dance academy teacher said that Jimin was so good that when he couldn't afford the fees, they waived it for him. He took part in and won hip-hop dance battles. He then decided to learn contemporary dance because the arts high school he wanted to go to didn't have hip-hop as a subject. He also had ballet and traditional dance as subjects. Jimin is very versatile.
They shot this on the same day as their Black Swan dance practice, so I guess Jimin and JK just didn't bother putting their shoes back on. Also I only just noticed the Lab has a few super tall dudes wow
❣Jimin, growing up, since quite young age, even pre mid school, was always into hip hop & r&b music. Aside from Rain, Taeyang, & BoA, Korean idols, known not just for amazing vocals, but their dance ability, Jimin was also heavily influenced, with other role models, such as Chris Brown, & Usher. So it goes to follow he’d also appreciate other equally well known artists who also were amazing dancers & performers aside from vocal ability. It also goes without saying that Jimin, was indeed heavily influenced by MJ. He even taught Jin to moon dance for Dynamite MV, also Jimin was the one that suggested other MJ moves also for BTS song “Dynamite”. Chris Brown’s choreographer Brian Puspos who Jimin is actually close friend with, both having a mutual love admiration & respect for was the one that did the choreography for “Serendipity”. He even said that Jimin dances his choreo better then he does himself! Jimin has also worked with Puspos who restaged not only a Chris Brown song for Jimin before, but also Drake’s “Own It”. Jimin already at early age of 10, started studying hip hop at the renowned Just Dance Academy, in Busan, city where Jimin’s from, which teaches all the many different styles of hip hop. There is even a post made that shows a performance where young again 11 Jimin in 2007, not only performed already, on right front side of stage, but later on went in front and did a solo. JIMIN also competed, excelling in popping, & isolation moves, winning every competition. JIMIN also since a little boy, trained 8 yrs in various forms of martial arts: Taekwondo (blackbelt), Hapkido, Kendo, & Chinese martial arts. Side Note: When learning Taekwondo, as a little boy, I believe Jimin said that doing the splits was one of the first things required to be able to do. Also did same for contemporary dance. He said that he'd put his legs split, up against the wall for quite long, hrs at a time. This was aside from still attending middle school Jimin, where he was already into all kinds of sports, including being part of soccer team,, but also basketball, even joined after school billiards, also excelling in track & field throughout his schooling. Then, while going to Busan Highschool of the Arts, he then also studied & performed contemporary. Media even called Jimin “The rising star of Busan” after seeing Jimin perform on stage during a huge festival. One of his dance instructors, to her dismay, after hearing that Jimin had the desire (since 2nd grade) to also sing, & become an idol, rather then to just dance, even though he already had an offer to dance overseas, that instructor said “The world of dance was going to lose a great artists”! JIMIN also studied, some ballet as well as even traditional Korean dance. But Jimin’s main love was always hip hop. Though he did enjoy dancing contemporary, which Jimin indeed excels at, to this day all his dance movements, have his exquisite body placement, amazing elegant, poised, clean lines, as well as he also always stands, even without dancing, with out-turned feet, his foot positions always end up while dancing in classical out turned foot position, placement that classically trained dancers have, with extensions all the way to his fingertips, even incorporating his eyes, & facial expressions! Jimin found he could express himself even more through contemporary dance. Very few dancers have the ability to dance as many styles of dance as well as have the ability to incorporate all of them, even his gravity defying, martial arts, moves in his dance. There’s a reason Jimin was not only give the official title of Main Dancer & Lead Vocalist, but has been awarded the prestigious titles for 5 yrs In a row, Best Dancer in Kpop, as well as 6 yrs King of Kpop. Jimin is called Stage Commander for a reason, his stage presence is on another level. Jimin is also called “Rookies Bible” because all rookies look up to him, watching his erformances. over & over, trying to emulate, & learn from his unmatchable, flawless, precise moves. So many trainees & rookies choose his songs to try to copy when competing, though even without singing, but just focusing on dance, always still fail to even come close. 🙏❤️🔥🔥😍🤩🫡🥇🎉🌟✨
Wrong it's not a concept of 'Marching Band' forget Kpop concepts they don't work with BTS. You have to look at lyrics not the style of dance. It's about keeping on going, keep fighting, don't give up, about not giving up hope, referencing the concepts of Persona, Shadow and Ego and applying those to their lives. Jimin's a student of Contemptatory Dance at the Busan School of performing arts he wasn't just the best/top dancer he was their top overall student btw, so used to dancing barefooted, he often dances barefoot.
Recommend you also react to: 🔥❣Jimin “Set Me Free Pt.2” MV, also the dance practice & live stage from Mcountdown which is safe to react to! it’s everything & more then I could hope for, Jimin’s amazing artistry, his so beyond spectacular,, so mesmerizing, phenomenal performance! The song, Jimin’s vocals, his dancing, the amazing choreography, which aside from the two main choreographers, as well as Sienna herself responsible for some of best parts of the choreo, Jimin, himself, had a hand in, offering suggestions, also the many amazing backup dancers, all continually in sync, the lyrics he wrote, the music he composed as well as being involved in the production, even the set design of the MV. Jimin was hands on, involved with every facet! Jimin even flew to LA to use the same choir, that was used in “On”. Would love for you to offer your insightful, informative comments, on this masterpiece of dance performance as well! 👍🙏❤🔥🔥😍🤩🌟✨💫
I'm so happy to see you again😊. This was worth the hour plus watch, for sure. I read a long time ago that dancers do runs like football players do for positioning. Is this pretty much true? I know from watching 99 % of BTS dance practices,I've heard them say different numbers for positions that they're supposed to be in when someone has messed up. So is that like the formations of sports,or is it referred to in different terms for dance? I totally enjoyed all of your input ,I appreciate you. I'm looking forward to Dionysus, I'm hoping you do the 2019 MMA performances( its 37 minutes long, but there are broken down videos too)...culminating with Dionysus at the end. There's a dance practice for this version as well>it's an extended version of the original choreography ,it has a dance break during the dance,ha! Plus mini solos throught the performance of the award ceremony that the boys turned into a concert😅. Again, thank you ever so much.🤗💜🫡
So nice to have you here again!!! So regarding Dionysus, my plan is to watch the live excerpt with the Dance Practice! I would like to watch the full live but I'm afraid that I wouldn't have enough time to go through all the necessary material to look at the FULL live appropriately! But I'll know that they have been WORKING up until Dionysus! I wanted to watch this one to better get my scope in line with where they were at collectively within movement quality and I'm so happy that my analysis was well received here! To answer your question about "numbers for positions" and I believe they could possibly be referring to the number markers that are on the floors in the dance studio spaces. Those help with keeping spacing in check with lines and a good reference for members. I would have to look at some dialogue that you are referring to to confirm this but that would be my educated guess! Looking forward to see you back when the next one drops!
Very interesting you see V as this slightly bitchy persona. I wonder if the tension you seem to detect might partly be jimin and v being the same age and therefore being able to be a lot more competitive and blunt with each other (apparently a cultural thing) than with other members. It could also partly them just randomly lapsing into performing/quoting famous scenes from Korean drama/cinema or a scenario that they've dreamt up themselves. This is apparently their 'thing', and the other members don't know what's going on when they're off in their own world. It can be quite hard to tell when they've spun off into these segues and it was something that took me a while to tell when I first got to know them.
