Is so crazy to think that suga danced with an injured shoulder from their debut until 2020 (he had surgery), and his moves are so clean and strong, he's truly a professional!💜
I wrecked my shoulder, and I didn't want to BREATHE. But nope, "I'm suga I kill everything and nothing can stop me so of course a cripplingly painful shoulder injury isn't going to stop killer dancing!" I mean talk about comparing yourself to a kpop idol...

It's weird looking back at their old MV's cause their practice rooms used to be SO SMALL! You can sometimes see the members in the back get squished during certain moments 😂 but they still dance beautifully, your reaction was great to watch 💜

This MV is actually the one that started BTS rise to the top. I have been with BTS since 2013 and after this media was like "DAMN THESE BOYS CAN DANCE!" this is it!
I understand not being used to subtitles! one possible suggestion: Love the Basics (a filmmaker who reacts to BTS videos too) usually reads the lyrics before he reacts. that way he can focus on the visuals & still have context that might add to his analysis! it works for him since he tends to go into the video looking for ways that the film-making enhances or conveys the lyrics, which I think might lend itself well to dance too! up to you of course tho, not everyone prefers that process over a completely blind reaction. thanks again for all your hand work on these vids, can't wait to watch the rest 💜

I don't really get what you're replying to with your comment tbh 😭 I'm saying that just like with filmmaking, I think dance is really good for expressing emotion and the choreography can match/enhance the lyrics of the song. and that /might/ be something she'd like to comment on as a professional dancer, and reading the lyrics beforehand could be helpful in that case. her commentary is great either way, but in this video she seemed to like knowing the lyrics so I just offered an idea. I'm not asking her to do a deep analysis of the lyrics or filmmaking (unless she really wanted to ig lol)
Don’t forget that they are not professional dancers who are training for a dance competition, they are singers who happened to dance like pros! Also only two guys have some dance backgrounds, the rest of them never danced before and for that, they are crazy good! As a trained dancer myself, there is no way I can dance full out while singing live like BTS does! I just appreciate what they can do and keep on getting better.
facts. i always say this to reactors who dwell deep into their dancing, but kinda forgetting they are singers too. Nobody does it better in dancing plus live singing than BTS.

V is dressed as Detective Conan, a famous manga/anime character. 'Hustle Life' was a series they did in the US and their camera rig was rented, and expensive (for a small, still very broke company) so they only had it for a certain amount of time, so they worked their butt's off.
Didn't know their camera rig was rented! Respect for real. Now they fly in private jets 😭

As a fan of dance Jimin became and is my bias. He's not a big guy but he dances large and I love that. I fought having a bias for four years lol because I adore them all but I just could no longer deny that he's my fave. 💜💜
Love the reaction! We like the drill sergeant, these guys and their team are very meticulous as well. They monitor their performances constantly to see where they can clean up.
FYI, saw it mentioned, but you mixed up Jimin and Jungkook(it’s okay it happens). Jimin was wearing the grey sweats and JK in jeans, Jimin also was the red head in the MV and Jungkook was the police officer.

They watch a recording of their practices, that's how they perfect the dances. The more you delve into BTS, you'll see them watching on someone's phone,or what the choreographer or an assistant recorded for them . Love your videos, I was a dancer many moons ago,but my knees are bionic now;(.... Borahae!
Good review! You’ll be able to recognize them 100% soon with their voice, visuals and positions. Usually, Jungkook is in the middle because of his position in the group. He is the “center”, meaning positioned center because he draws the audience in for his vocals, visuals and dance capabilities. At some parts, Jimin becomes center too. But usually, Jungkook is the center. Thank you for your review!
JK is centre because he’s the main singer. He gets more verses, so he’s positioned centre. If he were main dancer as well that would be a different thing but he’s not. He’s also not the main ‘visual’ as you put it. They have 2 of those: Jin (officially) and V. You make it sound like he’s the ‘be all, end all’ and that’s just not true.
I'm loving your analysis and I especially love when choreographers discuss what they would clean up or even change a bit in the choreo.
I believe this was from 2015 and since there's so much history with this group you'll definitely notice the improvements/changes in the dance styles and choreo as you continue watching them..

i definitely recommend watching their dance practices from 2013. they were very very synchronized. they had to be, or at least try to be 100% perfect to catch the eye of new viewers since they couldnt promote well. they are some of my favorite dance practices too
Jungkook or JK has the timbs on all time in early videos. He is main vocalist an usually as part of front dance line. he is the youngest.
Funny that you got Jungkook wrong in this (which happened to me a lot especially in older videos) because Dope is the video that made Jk my bias and made me finally recognize him correctly.
They are very good at freezing, to the point where they go on vlives and delight in making us think the screen has frozen.
my favorite part of the dance is suga's dancing to "enemy, enemy, enemy" and "energy, energy, energy" 😭 hes not even my bias, so idk! i just love that part?! its so fun

I have always thought it was such a great idea for them to release these videos.
The sounds of the feet are my favourite. Hearing them use specific stomps to keep the energy up and keep them synchronized is magical.
Love your reaction and and analysis as always! This song and “Fire” were choreographed by Keone Madrid and were def two of my favorites performed by BTS - so sharp and powerful ✨
Keone also did 'Not Today' and 'Blood Sweat & Tears'. He is credited with the choreo for 4 songs in total.
He also did V's Singularity 🥰 plus alot of other kpop groups, too 😎
They once did part of the choreography twice as fast on a TV show. The video is called "BTS dance fast and slow".

and the fact that they writting and producing all songs by themseves, they are so hardworking and talented💜
They don't write and produce every song themselves. They do A LOT, but they also have a great team of producers and have songs written and co written by others.
They don't do it all on their own. Actually most of their songs aren't produced by them (but yes they do produce on occasion). They are a lot more involved in songwriting but they still work with a lot of other songwriters.

This song has a special place in my heart because when the MV came out it popped in my TH-cam as a suggestion (at that point I had spent yrs watching Kdramas) I had no idea that clicking on that video would turn me into an ARMY. Here I am 7 yrs later and I have made Army friends, travelled out of town for concerts, woken up at the crack of dawn to watch online concerts, etc.
It has been such an adventure. It’s so good to see this today and enjoy how since the video came out the choreo still makes me grin, it’s so fast paced, so sharp, so fun.
Dope started my trip down the rabbit hole, too. The dance was what stood out to me and I'm so glad it led me to being ARMY. I couldn't imagine my life without these 7 amazing men.

I always experience BTS music 3 times. First just the vibe of the music, second reading the lyrics and finally all together. More effort but so worth it. They have raised my standards for all artists bc they are so talented.
I love how you communicate your critic points. „I would tell Suga to…“ LOVE THIS! People tend to think that Army will be mad if someone critics them. That‘s not true. We just love to see people do it respectfully. And it‘s so obvious that you teach on a daily basis cause you know exactly how to do it. Thank you so much. How have you not seen 'danger' yet😲? Has to be one of their coolest and most complicated dances to date! It's an older one too but its very technical and I feel like you'll love that one. You've got to watch the mv and dance practice for it, trust me you'll be blown away😁💜🤘🏾✌🏾
I think you will want to watch their Butter ft Megan Dance Choreo and the practice. Only has JK, JHope and Jimin in it and the dance practice you’ll prolly want to see

You mixed up jimin and jungkook but no worries! We all had trouble to tell them apart at first, give it a couple of months and you'll be able to distinguish which nose is whose. Hahaha. Great vid as always. Big hugs!

They are so easy to mix up, but just to help you. The one you called Jimin ithe blue Jean & White T is actually Jungkook, Jimin is the Red Haired one in Grey sweats with Cap on.

In the early years, they would practice 12-16 hours every day. I sure you have done also but maybe not for two-three years straight. They tell of going to the bathroom to get a break and falling asleep. Very few “idol” groups last more than a year. Each one of BTS’s members’s dedication and determination is rare. To have all seven committed is even more so which is why I (many people) think this is why they have risen above all the other idol groups and have become famous internationally.
I’m a senior and love their choreography. Maybe if I run your teaching videos at .75 speed I can keep up. 🥵

It's not important to have a bias. Some of us have a person who just jumps out at us - sometimes within the very first video! There is nothing wrong with appreciation them all equally, with being purely "ot7".

I’d love to see you break down Baepsae (Silver Spoon). It doesn’t have an MV, but it has a great dance practice and plenty of live versions/stage mixes. It and Dope have a similar vibe to me, and both are some of my favorites. It also kinda highlights j-hope (my bias), who is the definition of a team player and purposefully doesn’t stand out from the group when the focus is supposed to be on other people or the group itself, but is an absolutely mindblowingly amazing dancer. A few people have already said this, but he has a background in street dance/freestyle, and is absolutely UNREAL to watch perform live. As you get deeper into BTS content, you may eventually want to check out some of his freestyle vlives, which you may have heard some ARMY call Hope on the Streets.

You definitely should check out the dance practice for Spring Day. The MV is good too, but it was more of a story telling video, rather than a performance. With the dance practice, you could feel the story they convey with their dances even though you don't know what the song is about. They used lots of different movements for each member, textures, and also great transitions.

lots of people already mentioned the jungkook/jimin thing but if you are watching earlier practice videos and you see somebody in brown boots and jeans, its gonna be JK 99% of the time. homeboy lived in jeans and timbs for a few years.

about the subtitles: I agree, it's hard to focus on both their words and their dance, and since you're a dance reactor I totally understand focusing on the visuals instead of the words! though I hope you get to check out BTS's amazing lyricism on your own at some time 💜
btw, if you ever feel like spreading out a little, TxT and ENHYPEN are both groups under the same HYBE label as BTS with similar quality in choreography and music, and there is a girl group called Dreamcatcher I am particularly fond of. :D
You should watch the dynamite dance break practice!! You would love the satisfaction of hearing their feet stomping out the choreo. I’m gonna go watch it now.
I recommend the 2019 MMA performance. It is an award show but their performance lasted 40 some minutes. It's fabulous.
