So true, nothing is better than kids being kids! I hate the pacing of pro ball, but I’m glued to that screen every time they go to Williamsport. I was lucky enough to graduate with a bunch of guys that made it there repping the New England region. That summer was awesome being around town with all the hype
Amen to this comment. This man would have been in the Hall if the demons had not gotten the best of him. That was the best throw from 3rd I ever saw. We have a wall in my man cave dedicated to this man. My wife got his autograph & a signed baseball bat from him.
This is why I love watching the Little League World Series these kids are playing the game the way it should be played from the heart as the movie says For the Love of the Game I’d give anything to be able to play again
That was too close for a human to judge. Tie goes to runner by human perception; good call ump. Only with slow motion could we tell that throw just barely beat him.
@@zach3158 number one, no such thing as a tie, not concerned with your “perception” nowhere in any rule book does it say tie goes to the runner, awful call he missed it and he knew it.
@@hunterthomason8204he did not miss the call, if you were actually educated you would know that in umpire school they are taught to watch the foot touch the bag and listen for the ball to hit the back of the glove. the runners foot hit first before the ball hit the back of the glove, therefore the initial safe call isn’t the wrong call for him to make. He IS out though, since they went to review it is when the ball enters the glove, which does show the runner is out. Great job by the umpires.
It’s not even real baseball. They can’t steal, they play with drop 12 metal bats, and play with 200 foot fences. It’s fun to watch but don’t overhype it. They should have these kids compete with a competitive rule
Love baseball no matter what age. This was awesome. Back in my day I played first base and short stop. It was so much fun. Now im a 60 year old lady. But still love the game. AZ 😊
Absolutely not any decent ump doesn’t look at the feet they hear the ball. If they hear a snap of the ball hitting the glove before the runners foot hits the bag then it’s out, so 95%+ plays that are this close are out, not safe.
Tie goes to runner, just because the ball was kind of in the glove, doesn't mean the 1st basemen caught it YET, if you watch that slow mo again, dudes foot was on the bag before the ball made contact with the web of the glove, a tie goes to runner.
@@spLiffyFOUR20 the chances of a tie in baseball are so minute it almost never happens most of the time when it’s this close it’s out. That ball is traveling 4x+ as fast as the runner so if it’s close that ball is getting there first.

There are a lot of MLB players who need to watch this and remember that they are playing a team game instead of worrying about how many 0’s they can get on the next contract. 👀
Thank God they installed that rule and reversed the call . That young man deserves every accolade and 😮. Jaw dropping. I'm just now picking mine up after watching this.
A great play by both 3rd and 1st basemen. The difference in that play was the 1st baseman stretching to his limit and reaching out into the throw for the catch. College Coaches, make a note of both of these young men.
I couldn't tell, either, until the replay. Ball was in the 1st baseman's glove before the front of the (fast!) runner's foot hit the base. You can see the base move when it does, which definitely is *after* the ball is in the glove..
Awesome. The umpire even though he was in text book position from his angle could see the daylight on the runners foot when the ball was caught by the first baseman.
? That close?? I say he was safe on tie goes to runner, especially after the slow motion. His foot is on bag before the ball gets fully into the web of the glove. You clearly have never played baseball if you think this call was easy.
I was a Little League coach and umpire for many years. I saw literally dozens of plays that were Major League Baseball and even Sports Center worthy.
True story . I see sports center worthy plays every weekend our boys play . The talent down here is unreal
