A good way to not loose parts is to put a towel down on your work surface (to keep parts from rolling away). Placing parts, like the kingpin setup, in a line as you remove them makes it easier to remember how they go back on. Having some little containers to hold the bearings and wheel nuts definitely doesn't hurt. Side note- always check the wear on your pivot cups whenever your trucks are off, they're hella important.
The video doesn't specify but the reason some toe stops won't fit this is that it's a metric thread, not imperial. I changed mine to Roll Line toe stops as they come in both!
My Rainbow Riders arrived this afternoon, still nursing a broken wrist yet, but what an incentive to heal and get back on wheels, I shrieked when the delivery man turned up hahaha!!
I have the pink Rainbow Riders, which I adore, and I got out the glitter and the Mod Podge and glitzed up the rainbows. So sparkly! I also upgraded my bearings to the Rollerbones and I love them. I like going fast. 😄
My rainbow riders will here on Friday! I am so excited. First time skater and Rebel has been a big inspiration! Once I learn what the heck I am doing I want to upgrade my wheels (I love those light up wheels!) and laces. Thanks Moxi and Rebel for all you do!
Omgeeee I did exactly that Dee! The rainbow riders look real cute with light up’s on them, I put some on my Candi girls too but switched them back as the light ups were very very slippery outside on the tarmac and concrete. Stick to gummy wheels if you are learning outside, my broken wrist agrees 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 x good luck on your skate adventure!! 🦄
This video was so great I haven't even purchased my skates yet but I'm definitely going to now. Very detailed and informative and so easy to understand Thanks

I have the black riders with neon green wheels and plan to get purple laces to complete the rainbow. Might need purple toe cover too since I'm starting to wear through the toe.
That sounds amazing!! I would definitely recommend some toe covers. We have a couple options on our site now :) www.moxiskates.com/collections/toe-caps
Thank you soooooo much for this!!! I ordered mine a yesterday after lots of research. I loved the amount of info you gave! Can you do a video about the different knee, elbow, and wrist guards that are out there? I settled on Moxi because it matches and I am plus sized.
I changed my rainbow riders up by putting a pink toe cap, purple jam plug, and purple laces. once im more comfy on my feet ill upgrade to pink and purple fundaes!! maybe change the toe stop to red eventually
fyi the skate sizes are not the same as street shoe sizes, i bought a size 8 skate and wear size 9.5/10 shoe. the moxi site has a sizing chart with feet length as well as shoe size hope that helps!
Hey, My wife is just getting into roller skating and as I have quite a lot experience with skate-/longboards I'm helping her with the optimal setup for her. I'm looking into cushions (or bushings as which I know these) - what hardness are the original ones on the rainbow riders? Thanks Flo
Just curious: why is the toestop on the rainbow rolller a different size than others? Is it to ensure the lower price point? Always thought they all had the same width.
It's the type of thread (metric rather than imperial) but not sure why they went with that as imperial is more common. Roll Line toe stops are really good and come in metric if you're looking to upgrade!
Replic stops are also metric! I got mine from Fritz Skate. Yeah i was reading up on this a while ago and iirc theyre a little cheaper to make(smaller screw n thread) but ultimately i dont see why they did metric from a consumer and convenience standpoint.
I don't have rainbow riders, but I have glow wheels, bat wings on the outsides of them, and reflective laces so I'm seen at night, oh and I spray painted them black 😂.
I was looking for this comment,I’m switching to 62mm energy wheels and I tried putting the spacers inside but they don’t really fit,the bearings don’t go in all the way into the wheels the way they’re supposed to so I left them out. Still don’t know which wheel’s WOULD need it besides the ones that the rainbow rider came with.
basically. I wouldn't call this so much as a customisation video but an upgrade video particularly since there's several components which are not interchangeable like the toe stops. you can definitely use other branded cushions you only need barrels. I'm pretty unimpressed with my RR, I'll be looking to get some sure grips

Thank you for adding that! Yes, these are a metric thread.

Lace upgrade are necessary eith these right away. My stock laces snapped on my 5th ride.
That was a great instructional video for a beginner like me. Thanks so much.
Glad you enjoyed it!

that set up sounds so cuuuute!
this video coming out when ive just got mine is *chefs kiss*
What color did you get? :) Enjoy!
@@moxiskates i got the asphalt black ones! i love the 70s vibes of them!
I was just curious, you didn't mention anything about washers in behind the wheels, my Yellow rainbow riders had them, are they not necessary?
Love this video!! Wish the rainbow riders came in my size but still a great vid for educational purposes:)

I like to make my custom skates. I did the rainbow custom puting a different tongue, laces, wheels, bushings, and colors!

Do you keep the washer when you install the new wheels?
When sizing the insole, you could just use the original insole to get the size right ☺️

As these kind skaters said, these are made with a metric thread making them slightly different.
I need to make mine lighter! Mine feel super heavy! But it’s a great ab and leg workout when I use them lol
I don't have rainbow riders, but I have glow wheels, bat wings on the outsides of them, and reflective laces so I'm seen at night, oh and I spray painted them black 😂.
I wish that Moxi would make cute metric threaded toe stops
Thank you for the suggestion :)
Hi! I noticed that you didn't put spacers with the fundae wheels, its not needed???
It is not always needed!
@@moxiskates what doesl that mean. I have some wheels and no spacers... Is that ok?

Will the rainbow rider wheels work at a rink?
Can you also customize the Beach Bunny?
Do the What?! Trucks fit on the rainbow rider?
When will they make a jam plug that is compatible with the Rainbow riders
Thank you for the suggestion :)
Great video, my only gripe was when she kept calling the wrench 🔧 a crab tool and the king pin a bottom bolt 🔩 lolz.
Mine are on their way!!!❤❤❤❤😛😛😛
Yayyy!!
@@moxiskates Got them and busted my butt my knee is wrecked BUT I'm going back out there!!!!🤣🥰🥰🥰
Sweet!! How long did they take to arrive once you ordered them?
Can we get a video on pivot cups?? I think I lost a few
Was it a toe shield lol
That's a lot of moxi's!!!
They are very expensive in Turkey. I can't afford to take it. ☺️
We are sorry to hear that. We are working on having more international shipping options in the future, which may help!
She talks sooo much! ..had to skip to the end😅
Yep this could have been half as long.
basically throw every away and buy real skates
