These measurements and getting to know the innards of this machine are vital for modding! thanks for doing this and giving modders a way to better prepare for their mods.

    I don’t think that’s “8.0” that’s an omega symbol so that’s 8 ohm

Back in 1984 there was a local arcade/Pizza place that went out of business, and they were selling all of their Pinball/Arcade machines for $275 each. There were a few machines selling for slightly more, and some slightly less. I didn't have enough cash to buy more than one Machine. I ended up having to decide between two Machines. Gottlieb's Haunted House Pinball Machine or Atari's Battlezone. Both machines were in near perfect condition as each were only a few years old. I ended up picking Battlezone. I have kicked myself several times since for not picking Haunted House, although Battlezone was a great Machine and a fun game. Neither one of them you can touch now for under $2,000 in less than fair condition if you are lucky enough to find one.

The cable connected to the screen is LVDS, and that's why it is short. The 'cpu' of the mainboard is probably an FPGA

The small one is the cable that connect to the inverter to power the backlight.

Great video it’s bout time someone took everything apart. I was thinking of building one from scratch but I’m trying to see what’s more cost effective. It’s build one, get this or go to GRM SOLUTIONS. This either way would be an expensive build compared to a bartop or a reg arcade.. I would put the biggest lcd TVs that thing wil allow.. mind you TVs are really thin these days. My bartop that I built has a 32” lcd screen, to creat more room in the front and back I stripped it to the bare minimum and the plastic bezel that housed that tv was a lot of filler. So some TVs you might have to do that and others you won’t. It’s easy to build and mod these type of machines you can go to home depot or Lowe’s and by new stilts to raise up the pinball machine .. I tell people don’t be afraid to drill right into that mdf wood and make sure you have good stability and brace.. If your trying to reuse the groves and you feel your limiting yourself just get a router bit to extend that grove to be wider.. I’d use every inch of that cabinet.. just sucks that it’s up there in price and it’s just a kids toy. A good pc that’s small but powerful enough with the ram and graphics and ect, is gonna be around 300 give or take on your preferences.. In the mean time good luck to everyone wanting to mod there pinball machine or to build one. Good video can’t wait to see what your final result is, much respect ✊🏽 to everyone and happy gaming...

Well, I just attempted to install the 1.3 board, from Toyshock, but nearly dropped the monitor, and ripped the video cable out of it, so the monitor is now shot. Guess I'll be modding this, after all.

    Mate,
I have a 29inch ultra widescreen monitor, which I am thinking of popping in one of these and with the backboard replaced with a monitor. To run Pinball arcade, run long hdmi cables out of it to an external GTX1080 pc, and connect the buttons up to an ipac, with the plunger modded to a xbox controller anolog stick ....
Part of me is saying its such a waste to just take the screen and board out to throw away .... but as I am in Hong Kong, by the time I ship parts, buttons etc, woodwork, legs etc ..it would cost just as much if not more
The good news is this is actually made by a Hong Kong company

My Haunted House Digital Pinball machine by Toyshock 21C Digital stopped working. Is there somewhere I can buy a new motherboard?

I’m about to build a virtual pinball machine with lots of pinball machine games in it! I was thinking 🤔 is it worth buying the Toy Shock And modify it, or just build one from scratch 🤔

So who has added a 4k display to this? I have mine modded now, but it's a 1080p display. I would like to upgrade but I need to know what would fit without taking out the wood under the backbox. Thanks.

  • @ThomasGrillo

Thanks for doing this video. At least now, I finally see why the back box marque was so dim. It was in direct contact with the wood, which holds the score indicators, and only has a single edge strip LED light. Until I can afford to gut the whole thing, and replace it all with monitors, I'll move the speakers, loose the wood panel, and affix the score LEDs directly to the marquee, and then I'll paint the rear panel wood interior face white. I'll also use a proper lighting source, which should make the marque pop, nicely. Fingers crossed. :)

I think the bezlesss computer monitor is the way to go, samsung make a beautiful 4k 32inch that will fit into this machine. Costs more than the table ... but .. hey you know

thanks for this!! I appreciate all the details. I have a Samsung 32inch 4k monitor I would like to put in this, hopefully it can be done...

Let us know how you get on .... I am thinking of getting one of these just for the cabinet .... and the parts, as its easier to mod this than to make one, order parts etc

    • @travanti182
      @travanti182 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@MrNiceHk Will do!! Yeah I looked into parts for a kit but it would be upwards of 500 alone just for the wood!! no legs or artwork, that would all be at an extra cost. Cheaper to just get a toyshock and mod it. hopefully get my hands on one soon

Nice video.. You do have an option of 30" computer monitors.. I just saw one at Costco for $159tx.

@@DetroitLove Last year, thought about building full size VP, but decided it will be too time consuming. Waiting for a company to come out with 32"+ VP machine at reasonable price. I do have most of Arcade1up cabs and ToyShock 24" play field is too small. (also too short)
