Hey Nick and Helmi! So cool that you went to Thai Town this week and checked out all these amazing spots. Butter fave of all Asian cuisines is Thai food. So many amazing flavors.
Khanom Krok - love the coconut and scallions inside, one of my favourite Thai snack! Puri will be so happy to see the Thai groceries at Chat Thai :P Your expression when the drink is sour haha!! Omg that Khao tom mud, so yummy!! Moo bing looks kinda thin, thought it look thicker at the counter. And yea does look dry, where all the fat went?
We know Helmi is excited about all the desserts today, we have never tried that sweet potato ball, but they look really delicious. And the steamed rice cake with coconut looked really great too!! We always love when we get to see the cooking behind the scenes. We were cracking up at 4:40 with Nick's sour face when drinking the yellow plum drink LOLOL!! We would be making that face too! HAHAH
Those sticky rice in banana leaves reminds me of food we eat on the road traveling..I would eat those while driving lovely! Thai grass jelly! So refreshing!
Love this episode - so authentic in your expressing your feelings and also the cause of me watching “start-up”. LOL. Have you done an episode in Cabramatta? I can show you the local favs and tips from chefs.
@@nickandhelmi Phu Quoc Restaurant - my fav is the Deep Fried Quail which is also their specialty. It is served with a heap of fresh lettuce leaves and herbs. You can eat the quail on its own or the Vietnamese way of wrapping a chunk of meat with a lettuce leaf topped with your favourite herbs dipped in the accompanying sauce. Imagine the symphony of crunch as your taste buds sing with joy :-) My second fav dish at Phu Quoc is "Roll Your Own Paper Roll" - ( Banh Hoi Dac Biet - Cuon). It is a fun and communal way to enjoy a meal. You start by dipping the paper roll in a bowl of hot water and assemble your own paper roll with the assortment of meat to accompany the varied kinds of herbs and pickles. Eating with your fingers means you can't play with your phone - so you talk, and experiment with taste. Have you tried the herb that tastes like fish? What goes best with the crab meat on a sugar cane stick? Sorry I got carried away with scripting LOL More recommendations to come
Along Belvedere Arcade off John St, Cabramatta I recommend the following 3 restaurants: Battambang Cambodian Restaurant - authentic Cambodian street food - my favs is the noodle drop. The tumeric noodles are interesting and so is the deep friend intestine :-O Tuong Lai Vietnamese - specializes in broken rice dishes. Pho Ann Vietnamese Restaurant - specializes in pho (customers queue up even during the peak of Covid-19) Visit Air Lab on John St for their signature souffles! Recommended drink: Ambarella Juice with crushed dried sour plums - most of the drink bars on John St. All the best with your research - let me know if you need further recommendations. There's good and interesting food (like Hanoi snail soups) in neighboring suburbs like Canley Vale and Canley Heights. Excited for you!
@@freddykhi THANK YOU SO MUCH Freddy🙏🙏🙏 Yes we tried the DIY roll paper at Phu Quoc, so good & so fun! Which one is the snail soup? Is that same place where u can have the grilled cockles like vietnamese street food etc? I cant remember the name of the place but it's bright green restaurant remind of vietnam haha
Thanon Kaosam is also a very catchy Thai shop. We also still remember this shop, always grab one or two snacks/desserts from this place when we went to Sydney a few times last time. 😍
We would really love that steamed sticky rice in banana leaf. It looks like it was so sweet and sticky! Never seen that grass jelly drink before but cool that you both enjoyed it and it was refreshing. The design they made in your coffee was so pretty and no we have never seen any Korean soap operas before, but we have heard that people really enjoy them.
Love the way they designed the mango coco cafe it's so cute! mango sticky rice is our all time favourite thai dessert especially when it's served with fresh mango 😋
This is actually thirdly - I love Helmi's shade of red lipstick. It really suits her. And how you ventured out to do this video in this heat = incomprehensible
Oooooo we really like Sydney's thai town! hahah great episode for you Helmi, so much dessert lol. Chat Thai is one of our fav thai restaurants in Aus. hahaha so funny ur reactions to the plum drink. Never really tried thai grass jelly. Interesting it's chewy jelly. Fly trying to steal your coffee haha. We have to try Thanon Khaosan next time, look so delicious!! Our fav thai dessert, mango sticky rice! Makes me feel like some now lol.

Good, finally tasting some of the real food... 😝 The Khanom Krok you had looked like the original one, now they 'created' a lot of different fillings for more colors and variety.
Where can I get: Pad Thai (white noodle fried), Tom Yum ? (Papaya salad), Pad Krapao Gao ? ( steam rice with fried chicken and basil), fish ball noodle. 😊
I'm not a big fan of desserts in general, but if I have to choose one, I like to go for this kind of crepe. With a lot of chili paste and pulled pork. Not a fan of crab stick in my crepe tho. And it looks like they gave so real quantity of filling, they're not cheating the customer lol!
