Super underrated thing you did today Austin. The fading in/transition of the end title song so it doesn’t blast out of nowhere with Jimmy driving off in the Porsche damn near brung tears to my eyes *chef’s kiss* .. keep up with the dope content gentlemen. Be well 🫡
@@Dave_Allison Eh it's expensive because people always go overboard, there's a few "budget" builds, like chris balich on pelican forums, if you make the right choice you can make a decent engine, obviously it's never gonna be cheap, but most Porsche people always have to get everything as fancy as possible and waste a lot of money.
My guess is it's either an old voltage regulator, a low battery or both. My ford from the 70s does the same with the headlights after its been parked for a while, you think theyre out - but when you rev it the alternator gives enough power to light them up in the same way the tailights did.
Attention to detail, and knocked it out of the park. This Porsche content is only going to get better and better, and I am loving it. All the Car Tubers have been getting Porsche's and yours is the coolest, Jimmy.
Was kinda hoping Aiden was going to be detailing it when i saw him ! The fact I'm watching you build a 911, with a red r34 in the background still blows my mind, stay killing it Jimmy
I wish I were able to retain half as much about how cars & their systems work as Jimmy O. Lol. Guy is sharp as a f***ing tack. It's crazy. I've learned more from watching this Porsche build than probably any other build series I've seen (and I've seen hundreds. Lol). A ++ job my guy.
My dad had a 1978 911 from like 1992-2001. Before he got offered a job in management on the sales side of things pops was a master Porsche mechanic. He did Twin 1st gen Garret ball bearing turbos, get this MEGASQUIRT ecu, lol. The engine was completely built by him and I handed him tools as a little kid, I remember the entire cabin was painted yellow after he did the cage and he sprayed like 6 coats of clear. My mom sewed a bunch of my bomber BMX top tube pads together inside out so they were all black and used water noodles for the padding over the entire cage from the floor to the tippy top of the hoops. My uncle had a true to the game Callaway twin turbo Vette. His was a hardtop, he worked at NASA and had to use that real gold foil shit they use on the space shuttle under his hood because the manifolds and turbos got so hot. He also had a pressurized bottle of liquid nitrogen and 4 N2O purge valves that pointed straight at the intercooler and radiator so he could cool his car down in like 15 seconds. Anyway I remember riding with my dad coming down the pass from Victorville to LA racing my uncle. It was freezing and the Porsche didn't have a heater so I was all the way down in cuddling with the kick panel and I looked up, the speedo was pegged at 200. That Vette was right there. All this with 16 inch wheels, completely inadequate brakes, I had no seatbelt on I was huddled on the floor to keep warm, and I'm pretty sure they were both high on cocaine. Driving 200mph in a car built in 1978, high on narcotics, with a 9 year old kid in the passenger side foot well....classic. See? I survived! I ended up a scout sniper in the Marines, and I own my own automotive fabrication studio these days. I build the baddest s195 mustangs on the planet. I do a L33 with a ported LSA blower, I do a simple knockdown job on the OE head castings, comp dual valve springs, ratio rockers, Crower pushrods, comp stage 4 cam all managed by link ecu's mated to a dc009 with a clutchmasters twin disc and a single mass flywheel, complete drift domestic front knee assemblies, bbk adjustable rear trailing arms, fortune auto coilovers, I put different gearing in the steering rack so it's one and a half turns lock to lock, godspeed cobra r replica wheels with 4 inches of lip in the back, baer 6 pot calipers on stoptech 13 inch slotted and drilled front rotors then i put the stock front calipers on the back for the handbrake. They pull 60° of angle, I get them down to 2840lbs wet, and on pump e85 they make anywhere from 600-630 wheel. They're SUUUUPER rowdy cars and I have more data than you can imagine so there's no guesswork I get them PERFECT right off the lift. I've owned 9 s chassis, 4 350z, 2 G35 sedans, couple big body Lexus, nothing can hold a candle to these little mustangs I build. I've built 5 of them now, 3 of which got shipped to Sweden. I'm working on getting my brand copywriting and a patent on my engines because I machine the ratio rockers myself as well as the heads and blower. So I can actually rename the engine and call it my own. Which is what I'm busting my ass to get done because once I have licensing and my business is a bonded, production shop, I can sell as many as I want.
most underrated channel out there, jimmy been at it way too long still going more unnoticed then he should !!!! most hands on/skilled creator out there
Save your pinout diagram in the same place you save your tune files. keeps its all together and organized. been doing that for myself and my customers for years. always comes in clutch when you need it. Side note: would probably be worth putting a jumper USB socket through the firewall for better access to the ecu from in the car
Thanks for these videos and your awesome crew! Been going through some sh*t recently with losing a relative, and girlfriend's mom having cancer again, and these videos have been helping me a lot
Sounds incredible. One of the favourite builds so far, but then I am big Porsche fan. Also great to see we’re going to have some content with Aidan. He brings such a great vibe 😎🤟🏼
If either one of you boys TOUCH that hater pipe exhaust, I will personally come down there and put you over my knee. Never have I heard a more perfect sounding 911. I cannot wait to hear this thing at WOT under load.
This 964 series upgrade/re-fresh is fire! 🔥 "Linked Up Porsche" Passed the Spoon-Strength test and Jimmy knocks out the conversion with great detail and success! Makes me want to look into converting my 63 Merz Benz over...
Congrats!!! So glad to see this thing back in the rotation, hope you guys go all out building/restoring the 911! Also it's begging for some Meister S1s!!!
Love how you did the outro for this video, where the music fades in along with your logo. Feels simple, yet so professional in a sense.
man there's just this "organic" feeling to jimmy's videos that other car channels have kinda lost
love the content man
good shit
Agreed
His videos feel like LZ's old videos, love LZ but its not the same as it used to be.
CT energy
@@eliasbitzarakis9611 Can't be that. Rudnick's videos suck.
Can tell he’s doing it because it’s genuinely his passion. Man is a genius
THAT OUTRO WAS STRAIGHT 🔥 still got goosebumps, Austin be killing it!
That ending song fade in to the Porsche driving off was perfect your killing it Austin!

felt like a movie ending
Austin needs to see these comments 🤞🏽 I personally couldn’t agree more! @shortieafrokid the outro on this vlog just hit so right. 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽
Came here to say this🤌
i know hes said it in another video but whats the songs name?
@@sthompson7838apology note by bonsai trees
The outro is so goodddd!!!!!!!!
I am a big advocate for turbos usually but an NA build on this would be HOT
NA aircooled horsepower is the most expensive horsepower!
@@Dave_Allisonobviously they should just go b series in the porsche
@@Dave_Allison that’s believable, jimmy should sacrifice a car for the build

NA with nitrous and high compression pistons and valve and springs would hard 🎉
that ending ❤
it literally felt like a season finale
Dope to see it running refreshed. I noticed that the reverse lights were coming on as you revved it. 24:30
I commented the same thing..
lol I just commented the same haha

Jimmy and his son working on the poorsche. Love to see it

Big fan of keeping this car NA for as long as possible. This is one of those cars you just need to enjoy without throwing power at it.
100% agreed, Jimmy is the person to tune it too, like a rotary’s air cooled engines are tuned with the ear.
At 24:30 the taillights light up when you revved the engine. You should check that.
Chassis ground or old clear tails with a break somewhere in the socket.
Was it me or reverse lights come on with high revs? Sic car Jimmy well done gents
That was the best outro in months. 10/10. The slow fade into Apology Note was *chefs kiss*
NAHH I see Aidan in the vids I smack that like button 3 whole times🫶

The song build up as you were driving away! Goosebumps!
Something about watching you'll working on the Porsche is therapeutic
Literally checking my feed for this video every minute, especially after that Instagram teaser.
Car like this 100% deserves the attention it's getting. Sounds mean! 😎
That ending was fucking fantastic, fading the music in when jimney drives away? Perfect 👌
The outro music slowly building up at the end was amazing!
Can’t wait to spend my winter watching you guys kill some more awesome build makes me even more hype to see adian on the channel again
OHHHHH that ending was sick! Always killing it with the content. Stoked to see ya back in the porsche again! Cant wait to see what lays ahead.

I love the music and how it came in at the end, was clean
Definitely put me onto Bonsai Trees, and that rolling outro (figuratively and literally) was sick
Fire outro, I see you Austin.
This is probably the best car you have I know you got so many but just this hits so hard and looks scary compared to anything you got
Finally one of the TH-cam car guys with a n air cooled Porsche rebuild.
This is probably one of my favorite builds on the channel. Getting something so old updated to run with new tech, that’s not the norm, is awesome!
I've never had a video ending make me so happy, absolute chefs kiss 😮💨😮💨
Tuff Oakes Gang. Not a Porsche guy but actually like this. Congrats on the upgrade
I loved how you started the outro song quietly before the BEAT DROP ending!
the bridge buildup to the chorus for the ender was a welcome surprise.
