We finally did it!!! We fixed the crazy issue that was so hard to figure out. This project is turning out so epic and we cant wait to share the final steps with you guys!!!
Well done Dad. The ONLY man NOT gas bagging and actually doing the "work" !! Thanks for sharing. From New Zealand. Well done all. I have enjoyed watching this. Cheers.
Man I’m sure all the people in the comments know what they are talking about, but there’s just something about trial and error over and over until you find the problem and finding the problem and fixing it that is just so satisfying! You guys are really living the dream haha keep at it!
@@scaleadventures124 No they didn't stop. They show two attempts. Normal procedure is to pull the fuel pump fuse and remove all sparkprlugs. That way, is the starter not fighting compression in the cylinders, and you are not squirting unburnt fuel into your catalytic converters. It's very basic. They are good at fixing exteriors, but basic engine skills seems to be lacking a bit.
Happy for you guys!!! I was a tad worried.... Next time on doing compression tests, just pull all spark plugs and let it turn over freely until the gauge stops climbing. Love the wheel/tire choice!!!
Well done boys! Simon was hitting on ALL cylinders in this video! I'm going to cry!!! And - so new no one let one go!!! Classic! Congrats on getting it out of limp mode - well done!
Still think you guys should give this one to pops , he is your biggest supporter and he deserves it for all his running around and assisting you boys .
"We might be doing more damage as we're running this thing...." said EVERY other poster on every one of these videos...while watching the thing get started and revved 15 times a video...LOL. It's better to be lucky that good...hehe. These guys are the luckiest on the planet.... ;-)
My first time watching you all, and am in love. You guys have a sweet spirit and your boldness in taking on this project mesmerizes. G-wagon ? Wuuuuhh. I own a 2021 G63 and am even scared even opening the hood but u guys are just absolute beasts, your engineering skill are 🤯
I liked this more than I would expect, pretty sick ride. Please make sure to include some before footage in the final video, makes such a bigger impact to see where you started and where you ended.
You need to disable the engine from starting when doing a compression test. You can unplug the coil and pull the relay for fuel pump. And pull all the plugs that way that way the engine can spin faster. I figured it was something simple. Good job.
I told you ages ago it weren't no bent valves. Also when compression testing, pull the fuel pump fuse and put a battery tender on the battery when doing this.
Hi bros. There may be some oil on top of the pistons. Kindly remove all the plugs and turn the engine a couple of rounds. And resedue present in the enge will come out. Make sure plugs are dry. The install and stary. Hopefully it should work. Cheers🎉
As always another amazing restoration, now since you have an AMG consider some weistec upgrades and a tune !!!!! That will wake this beast up easy 100+HP
Glad ya found the limp mode issue, enjoyed the build. Car would sound better stock, exhaust sounds terrible in video plus it's a cruiser not a race car.
Can we get a update on the Porsche and Audi R8. I been watching you guys since the mustang build in your parents driveway. You guys are great to watch.
if you want more power get with eurocharged performance. they are one of the best mercedes tuners in the us. also when you do a compression test you are suppose to pull all the spark plugs and the fuel pump fuse. then check each cylinder be cranking the engine until you get a max reading on the gauge. all cylinders should be within 10%.
It’s great they found it. I was right in that it was something most likely with the Cam. Either way it’s definitely not wise to start or even rev the engine when you have issues because it can end up costing a lot more money to fix the issue. It’s on wheels and they have wheel dollies.
you boys need to pull all the spark plugs when doing a compression test. if you pull one at a time you will not get a proper reading because pressure can enter or escape between cylinder. also pull your fuel pump fuse, you don’t want it to start.
I would find the recommended Mercedes compression test procedure. The spark plugs should normally be removed, along with cutting fuel. One of my cars needs the fuel injectors turned off or the car run with the relay removed until it stalls.
Right on Guys that G Wagon is looking good! I would also be so cool to see a video on the Porsche with maybe a road test on it! Looking forward to the next video!
A really quick compression status can be done by simply removing a fuse to keep the engine from starting and simply crank over the engine. It should run at a constant starter speed without any big ups and downs. Trust me, that’s the first thing a mechanic does when dealing with a misfire. If it runs a nice constant speed while cranking, there is no reason to waste time with a compression test when dealing with a misfire. Good luck and keep up the great work ethic. 👍🏻
I have never seen Elazar look so worried than when Simon got off the phone with the dealer. 🥺But he pulled up his britches, tighten his shoes, and made it happen. He said I'm that dude. Believe me when I say this.......Elazar you are a great mechanic! Bro, if I lived in Tennessee, I'd take my car to you any day. Or I would work for you, you are truly the epitome of motivation. Not to take anything away from Simon, you guys are a great compliment of each other. For anyone watching this.....IYKYK
Hey! it would be great to see some before / after shots at the end of a series. just some quick impressions on how bad the damage was at the beginning.
This is why I like the channel; you brothers are not afraid of a challenge. You got that Sucker poppin! I must say Mercedes is my favourite car, I owned two so far!
My suggestion is at the end of each build series do a compressed video called “rebuilding a wrecked (blank) in 10 minutes”. Not only would those generate lots of views, but we would also like seeing a summery of the last few months of videos we’ve been watching.
@@AMLagonda The fuel injectors being cut off prevents raw fuel from washing down the cylinder walls, and causing damage, as well as producing a false reading of the cylinders compression and these 2 goofs probably flooded the engine with fuel causing pre detonation could cause it burst into flames you must not work around modern cars
