deep diving is described as a dive that exceeds 60 feet. It means that most of us without a scuba gear may safely dive a maximum of 60 feet without feeling the negative risks associated with diving beyond the limit
It’s very deep for an unskilled skin diver. You can see his hand shaking holding the ring box. He was already lacking oxygen - and probably blew out the rest before he made it to the top which took away any buoyancy.
Sounds like he planned to propose then kill himself. 30 ft under water? One breath. Long enough for her to read the paper, him get the ring and get back up 30ft in seconds. He knew what was going to happen
I believe what this poor man never took in to account was the fact that under 30 feet of water, there is substantially more pressure on the body, and lungs, which most likely prevented him from holding his breath for as long as he may have at around 5, or 10 feet of water. God bless him, and his fiancé, along with their families and friends, who now have to deal with the grief of a life taken too early.
Exactly! You can't take a big breathe in and go down... You need to hyper oxygenate then breathe all the air OUT going that deep. The pressure squeezes all the air out of your lungs otherwise... So sad
Ambient pressure DOES NOT "push the air out of your lungs". The pressure grows equally in all directions, including the direction the air would "escape" from. It is equally pushing it out and holding it in. The result is just compression, not expulsion.
@@Djpetegordonthis is the WRONG method for freediving and very dangerous. You do NOT hyperventilate, quite the opposite you do your “breath-up” before the dive by doubling your exhales - 3 seconds inhale 6 seconds exhale. This slows the heart rate and prevents a depletion of C2O which is the primary component that tells your body it needs to breath. There was an incident where the groom was asked to do some acrobatic stunt. Something went wrong, he fell, broke his neck and died. On their wedding day.
Having proposed myself, the physical lode is impossible to anticipate - i feel like you get down on one knee because guys were tired of passing out. My heart was thumping like i was running the hardest race of my life and it was hard enough not to seem nervous, let alone control your oxygen level and intake. My guess is that as soon as he got close to the window to do the proposal, his adrenalin was just dumping, and his body was using the oxygen really fast because of the fight or flight you get. You can see his hand begin to shake like someone who’s about to pass out from oxygen deprivation (i swam competitively for years and have seen it happen when people are trying to show off once or twice - and come very close to losing it myself)

@cassl14 Once the lungs and stomach gets filled with so much water because of drowning, It becomes difficult for a dead body to float. Bodies that usually float are dead before being dumped in the water.
Because this coverage was so shity it's hard for me to understand why this was so dangerous. Was it a hundred feet deep or something crazy? He can obviously swim so I don't understand why so many people think it was a crazy thing to do. The only legitimate way I can seem him dying is by hitting his head and becoming unconscious underwater. It's very hard (nearly impossible) to purposely drown yourself and I would think his body would have kicked into high gear to save his life unless A. It was too deep or B. He hit his head, or the very unlikely option (C.) of someone murdering him. Too bad they couldn't explain more in the story than what the title already said...
We see a video of him outside the window, and a still image where the letter is actually readable. So, he swam down 30ft without weights, gets her attention, is fumbling with the note, she has to get her phone out, start recording, go to read the sign, switch the phone from video to photo mode, get the note focused and legible, let him know she's got the picture, then he gets out a ring box for more video, before finally beginning to ascend. Attempting this *without* the time spent documenting it on her phone would have been extremely dangerous already. He has no weights to assist his descent (which would be released for assent), no buoyancy device he can use to quickly ascend in an emergency, no oxygen supply. No back up plan whatsoever. Tragic, but I simply cannot comprehend thinking along the lines of "hold on let me get a video" while the person you love is 30ft from an environment conducive to human life. If it were me in the room and someone I cared about in the water, it'd be like 5 seconds of me going wow that's cool, followed immediately by gestures pointing up for them to return to the surface. At the very least he should have had someone that did know what they were doing in the water with him. Readers, hold your breath for around a minute (the time of the phone video) while lightly jogging in place (to simulate the effort of moving around for the video and staying at depth without weights), and then try to imagine continuing to hold that same breath swimming an additional 60ft. I think most would not fair well.

Coz he literally want to express those words into action
Sounds like he planned to propose then kill himself. 30 ft under water? One breath. Long enough for her to read the paper, him get the ring and get back up 30ft in seconds. He knew what was going to happen
1:09
I believe what this poor man never took in to account was the fact that under 30 feet of water, there is substantially more pressure on the body, and lungs, which most likely prevented him from holding his breath for as long as he may have at around 5, or 10 feet of water. God bless him, and his fiancé, along with their families and friends, who now have to deal with the grief of a life taken too early.
Men usually practice just getting on a knee. He should have thought about doing the same
Damn…
This guy should’ve taken a sanctioned freediving course like FII to better understand how to dive to depths safely. Very sad and never dive alone
I'm going to say if social media didn't exist, he probably would never have tried this.

Romance is men compensating for his woman's lack of attraction towards him. Women beg for dick when they're attracted to a hot man, and expect nothing in return
@@spfcasual3786 It's perfectly true and logical. Romance is compensation. The man expands energy, resources, has to be creative etc. while the woman just takes everything. Women don't court men. Many of those are like this guy, beta bux who emasculates himself and serves women, just for a bit of affection. It's a shame society hides this truth from men, only to exploit them. Cheese he never came back up so there's was no way to know the official cause of death. Can't do an autopsy without a body.
“Presumably Shark”?
@@musicfeedsyoursoul8070 so he might be on a desert island somewhere as we speak
He drowned... u can see his hands shaking at 0:47 because he was out of breath. So sad.
@cassl14 Once the lungs and stomach gets filled with so much water because of drowning, It becomes difficult for a dead body to float. Bodies that usually float are dead before being dumped in the water.
I hate to be insensitive but seriously.......what was he thinking?
Yup like wtf
@@SB-SB Running out of breath?
SB SB Ummm maybe running out of breath ? Smh
Yes, he’s saying that he ran out of breath from it being to deep and him underestimating how far he had to swim to reach the surface
I could never stay in a underwater room that’s terrifying
@5T4R3790
Yeah I think neither of them were understanding how dangerous this is at all
One of the saddest stories I’ve ever heard. God bless his fiancé!
god shudda blessed his lungs with underwater breathing. yikes thats one mean god ur worshipping
They were still only boyfriend and girlfriend...he didn't know her response.
Of course only a man could do something like this
@@thedodsonful People do things they cannot do, people blame God. People experience miracles, people say there is no God. No insensitivity to the man lost. It is heart breaking. Your response is just nonsensical.

0:50 you can tell that he needed to breath NOW at this point. you can see him exhale twice literally trying his hardest not to involuntarily try and breath in. 30 ft down below. But Didn’t wanna ruin this special moment he probably planned in his head 400 times over. Very sad.
I know it’s so sad. You can see him panic and shake and especially the pacniked doggy paddle for fresh air. That’s someone who was drowning before anyone even noticed.
Yeah you can see he is shaking and he is really holding it around his ribs and stomach
HardChuck, I need you to take a seat.
He had that long ass note too 😒
It’s ridiculous that we stigmatize cocaine and heroin addicts but grant a free pass when the addiction is “love.” Any addiction needs to be treated when it gets this bad.
He didn't have a second person helping him with this and watching out for him???? Ugh..
If social media did not exist, that guy would have never done that dumb ass stunt.

Your bro cheaped out on scuba gear when he bought an engagement ring. At the end of the day, the scuba gear is more valuable since it serves a purpose while diamonds are perceived as valuable.
Sam up the rangers!
Throngdorr Mighty only has value because of demand and jewelers keep the price high so you think your getting something valuable. Once you leave it’s barley worth half the price you paid.
He could have picked a woman who loves him for who he is instead of a narcissist that wants to be wooed. Her laughter during the proposal says a lot; plus she wasn't even concerned with his safety
In diamond rich Africa no less..
Throngdorr Mighty - Though many love how a white diamond sparkles.
He is literally shaking when he was opening ring box
Well to be fair I'd be shaking for a proposal on ground level.
kendo512 no thats what people do when theyre about to pass out, he was already becoming increasingly unable to breathe
His stomach looks sucked in, clearly at the end of running out of air....
He would be alive today married to his wife if he would of used scuba diving equipment think about it 30ft underwater?.
He wanted to make that joke about "cant hold my breath long enough..." Jesus Christ!
Or just proposed the regular way.
Like there is absolutely no need to propose like this. People like to much damn attention for doing something different. Just propose on land!!! I don't understand what's wrong with people of today. And no one told him this wasn't going to end well? Everyone just let him dive that deep with no equipment. People have to use their brains.

Inter-racial couples are selfish and inward looking people to be honest. Especially if they breed. Bringing a child into a world with a mixed and mudded down identity they did not ask for. Fuck you.
So sad. He should have just hired a professional diver to go down and put a weighted sign with his proposal message outside the window while they were out for dinner or something, so she would see it when she comes back, and then he's behind her on one knee with the ring. There are other ways to be creative. If you're not very experienced, free diving is sooo dangerous. His heart was in the right place, but his head wasn't. Poor man.

Romance is compensation for lack of attraction. That man should've accepted his single status instead of trying to court a woman and lose his life in the process.
