Bron was trying to get CP3 and Melo in Miami but then you can’t say he doesn’t want to compete.
Lebron is what happens when a kid is treated like a celebrity and coddled at such a young age that he never develops true character.
Winning at all costs no matter the collateral damage. Straight up toxic single mother energy.
The difference in growing up with or without a father is never talked about enough in Lebron’s lack of character.
I will cry when Lebron retires… tears of joy.

Bruh, what does character have to do with jumping from team to team playing with "in prime elite personel" to achieve what other greats did? 🤔
Although his home life might have been questionable, I disagree about his character being called into question, because he, is if nothing else, a sound family man with morals and values. I have to give him credit for that aspect of his life, as far as we know. That might be called into question in May 2025, we'll just have to wait and see.
What he's done is simply no different then stacking teams in the park, letting bruhs that live across town use your aunts address so they can play for your high school, or errbody leaving AAU to go to the same college, scholarship or not.
Off court actions are about character, an other than talking about things he should at times inform himself more about before he speaks his characters not the issue, nore is his Mother, or absentee Father.
Yeah, he wants to compete as you said, as long as he can stack the deck against others and play with the best competition instead of competing against it!
He's not the only star who's come from humble beginnings with a lesser than proper foundation.
Y'all gon continually make excuses for this guy, I guess well after he retires also....I wonder what y'all gon say when the "Juice Elements" he NEVER gets tested for emerges before he gets to the HOF❓️❓️❓️
Or, are you one of the bruhs who thinks he should get in while he's still playing; "To Be The 1st To Do That Too?"
According to him, he deserves that privilege that no one else has ever claimed but him.
Man, y'all need to stop with all these excuses for this selfish, egotistical, greedy socialite who wants everything to be about him and his accomplishments!
Dam the way Kareem, Dr. J, Magic, Bird, MJ, Hakeem, Robinson & Duncan, Shaq, Dirk & Kobe did it! Take the past of least resistance like James and stack squads so that you no longer have to compete against the best....You play with them to win chips! That's his M.O....

The NBA was protecting Jordan. If Kobe had gotten one more title, an argument could have been made regarding his legacy. I don't think it would have added much to the Lakers for what they had to give up to get CP3 (Gasol to the Rockets, Odom to the Hornets/Pelicans), though it should be noted Andrew Bynum had an All-Star season in 2011-12. In the end it was New Orleans that got screwed - compare the potential haul from the Lakers/Rockets three-way deal (Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola, Goran Dragic, and the Rockets' pick, which could have been used to select Draymond Green or Khris Middleton, who were still available) vs. what they got from the Clips (Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, and the 10th pick in 2012, which became Austin Rivers). The only consolation was they got the top pick in 2012, when their odds were only third-best. The big winners were the Clippers, though they didn't parlay their opportunities into a title.

@@sportjames23 Man, that's funny. Look, some decisions can be incredulous for us outside the league office. That's my tinfoil hat theory. Even this LeBron hype is creating the necessary bulletin board material for Jordan fans to go in on someone's ass, to use your term. In the end, the league doesn't care who emerges the victor in the discussion, as long as people watch and merch gets sold. Only when there is pushback will the NBA do something about it.
EDIT: Why is Kobe not getting his props from the league? Because he had a sexual assault case. This was discussed in the panel, and I think the panelist was right. What does having underaged baby mamas have to do with Karl Malone's basketball legacy? Is he suddenly not good at basketball because of it? The league makes decisions for its own interest, and promotes players who align with its brand. LeBron is riding high now because he still plays. Once he retires it will be a different story.

Melo screwed this up by signing the 4 year deal so Bron/Wade pivoted to Bosh to be the 3rd member. Rookie deals are 4 years so 2003 to 2007. Then they should've signed the 4 year max deal but chose to sign 3 year deals. Lebron, Wade, Melo, Bosh were all on that 2006 Fiba team. This is where they conspired to team up.

Both seasons they had the # seed. Some fans just look at the rosters then and say garbage. Many Lebron fans weren't even watching back then. People forget LeBron and the Cavs had the best overall regular-season record in 2009 and 2010. Aside from Big Z, he had high-performing role players like Mo Williams, Daniel Gibson, Jamison, Varejao. In one year he had Joe Smith and Ben Wallace, in another Anthony Parker and Shaq. Kobe's core were basically Gasol, Odom, and Fisher, and the Lakers won back-to-back. LeBron ran out on Cleveland, plain and simple. He needed a situation where he had a stacked deck like the '08 Olympics.
Wade should share some of the blame for participating in the Decision. My guess is he was aware he will not be able to carry the team on his back for long, after they traded Shaq away. What he probably didn't count on was the necessity of ceding control of the team to LeBron. As they say, you make a deal with the devil, you get your just rewards. Pat Riley and the Heat should have been fined for collusion. LeBron was somewhat punished, because while he turned in an MVP-worthy season, Derrick Rose ran away with the MVP trophy. And karma came in the form of Dallas beating the Heat in the 2011 Finals.

It was just a stacked Western Conference which had 4 of the top 5 best records. The Spurs weren't a juggernaut, Phoenix was the favorite and Dallas was the top seed. Dallas choked in the first round, and Phoenix were screwed by the league in the WCSF vs. San Antonio. It still would have been an upset had the Cavaliers won, but it wasn't a David vs. Goliath situation as it was being covered by the media. @matthewpalmer7822 Well... here we go with perspective again. Phil Jackson was a first-time head coach. He wasn't "Phil Jackson " as we know him. The Bulls, like the Cav's had never won a title. Say what you want about that Cleveland franchise at the time. People forget they damn near won 50 games the year before LeBron got there. They had two All-Stars on the team already. DWade had the guidance of all that Championship pedigree around him, true indeed, but when it was time to be the man and figure out how to orchestrate all that on the court HE had to do that. LeBron was right there. 7 years seemed to be the breaking point for people. People forget, Chicago lost to Detroit twice more after Scottie got there. That wasn't some instant fix. He had to grow up. He was terrible. Athletic yes, but weak minded and very unaggressive. The triangle was an experiment. That hadn't been proven. That whole idea was new. Mike faced that same criticism. He can play with the best of them, but can he win a championship? He answered the bell. Honestly, we don't know what LeBron James would be had he not took off. Personally, I thought losing to the Celtics that last time, having to deal with the rumors about his mom and Ole boy was going to be the thing to put that killer instinct in him but when he pulled the decision I jumped ship. That first 3 peat Chicago team was the least talented team 1-5 and were not favored throughout the entire run. He ran from the fight. Bottom line. He ran again once his guidance and shield got old in Miami. He knew the formula by then. His GM helped teach it to him, why not stay and trust? Nah, back home look good. Kyrie is the truth, I can convince Kevin Love to give up his own franchise and sign too... let's go home. Kyrie get tired of the bullshit... you know the routine. He's a fraud.

@ I read all of this and some validity in there. I’m a Bron fan but I’m not delusional like others. I would add that the pressure building up that he placed on himself and from the media made him panic and leave. Overall, as you said we don’t know what would’ve happened had he stayed. I often wonder would most respect him more if he stayed and had 0 to 2 rings? I was all for him leaving cause things was looking bleak in Cleveland
Triangle was new that’s true but it didn’t take long for things to work. They won the title in Phil’s 2nd year as head coach, not saying it was all Phil hell no but after the bulls, Phil did it again with the lakers, and yep d wade had to show up and play but let’s not act like having one of the greatest coaches of all time doesn’t help with that.
Just imagine a year 3/4 lebron getting Phil Jackson or Pat Riley as his coach, potential difference maker for the better wouldn’t you think?

Lebron didn’t have the talent during his first run with the Cavs? Are you guys serious? Yeah, he didn’t have a bunch of stars, but he had strong teams for 4-5 yrs once he made the playoffs in his 3rd season. He made a finals trip, multiple conference finals, and multiple seasons of winning 60+ games. The problem came down to 2 teams which were the Celtics and Magic that put him out of the playoffs. It was Lebron’s mentality that led him to leave the Cavs, not a lack of talent. He wanted shortcuts to titles by using free agency to stack teams. It is the same behavior that he is displaying with handling Bronny. Use his power to get what he wants the easy way. To hell with grinding and earning success.

No. Even if I did tell you who they played, what does that have to do with me SPECIFICALLY talking about the 2006 Finals!?! Shaq never out-averaged Wade in those playoffs. It's the same argument that goes against Kobe when he played with Shaq. Shaq had better numbers than Kobe, overall, in their Finals runs. But Kobe had a much more significant impact than numbers would suggest. However, even though Shaq was good in the playoffs, we know what a prime Shaq looks like, and he wasn't that. It's ok, and Shaq was on the decline. He was an excellent second play behind D-Wade. But don't get it twisted. That was a D-Wade lead team. We know this because the 06 Heat were full of Vets, and Wade emerged as the main guy.

A simple test of who’s greater. In MJ’s time if you placed him on the worst team in either conference they instantly become a title contender.
You can’t even in honesty say you could do the same with Lebron because he HAS to have the right pieces around him who have to buy in to sacrificing their games and ALLOWING him to lead the team.
MJ’s dominance and will to win instantly make the team a winner and his teammates have zero choice but to buy in.

How many games did the Bulls win before drafting Jordan? How many games did Jordan lead them to after being drafted? Jordan was drafted at 21 years old by the way. How many games did the Cavs win before drafting LeBron? How many games did LeBron lead them to after being drafted? LeBron was drafted at the age of 18 by the way.

Jordan is the goat and what you said seems and sounds pretty ideal BUT, truth be told. Jordan has had multiple coaches and could only win with ONE particular coach, same with Kobe, ONE particular coach
Meaning as amazing as they both are, I don’t think they would or could just “win with anybody” every champion/championship team has to have “the right pieces” not just on the court might I add

The Chicago Bulls was the greatest super team ever created and Michael Jordan kept resigning 1 year contracts to rejoin it and rejoined it after his 1st retirement. Now that in and of itself is not a big deal. But the fact that Jordan could never get past the 2nd round without this team is a big deal. Couple that with the fact that Jordan could only win with Pippen's Bulls makes that a bigger story than this. (Pippen's Bulls is a differentiator for any Bulls team with BOTH Jordan and Pippen - Jordan's Bulls is any Bulls team with Jordan but without Pippen) Bron won REPEATEDLY without the Heat and Wade. Jordan could never ever win without Pippen's Bulls and MJ is stuck under Pippen's shadow for all eternity. You tell me what is the bigger story.

Now that championship, Dwade won with Shaq you got to remember LeBron had checked years prior to that he couldn’t do it with check so don’t say he had a good chat. His knees was beat up.

All three of those cats. lbj, Wade, Bosh colluded and opened the door to 15 years of chaos and erosion of the NBA.......cheated the game on every level

All due respect Mell. It was AFTER Dan Gilbert (Cavaliers) called the commissioner to complain about the Lakers getting 1 of the best players..that the NBA nixed the trade. Saying he had to go to a small market team. 1 week later they let him go to the Clippers..lol. so much for that logic..LA is no small market. That made it clear they didn't want Kobe nor the Lakers to win anymore..focus was on promoting LeBum

LeBron reached the finals without a Shaq or a LeBron beside him , D Wade has never done that. Has D Wade ever made a conference finals without another top player beside him? Doubt it. Second round? Not so sure.
