      I’m a Hoyt PSE fan. I’ve had to in the past scoff @ MFJJ assessment on his past Hoyt reviews. At times saying he’s full of shit. He’s historically gave better reviews and comments to Bowtech and Mathews. Just imho. You can go back and watch them for yourself. I felt overly critical on Hoyt.
      This year ? Almost comical about face. Almost like he’s done with shooting a Bowtech if he actually still shoots one after their melt down and wanting a Hoyt sponsorship?
      As for the shims. Hoyt is a technical bow company. Bows with sliding axles adjusts like Bowtech, Elite, even PSE lend possibilities of moving. Hoyt being a huge big game bow design do not want to hear a bows tune was ruined miles back and miles high in the mountains ruining a drop camp type hunt.
      Shims are your surest way to lock down your tune. Locked down the shims don’t move. So you take the time to get it done. I’ll take the shims. It’s the binary way. The 4 track assists with can lean keeping things tight.
      Not a bad bow here. But I was wanting a new riser Z1S. No such luck right now.

    Enjoy the channel very much. I’ve always been a Hoyt fan, but am shooting an Elite Era that I like a lot. The speed is only 2fps, the Era seems quieter and obviously lighter. This reminds me of the Hoyt Supertec. I’m always looking for improvement, never shot a Carbon Hoyt.

    Like the axle to axle on this bow right in the middle not to short not to long. This could definitely be a bow that is a front runner depending on what a couple other brands do

    • @Blazer-fp8fo
      @Blazer-fp8fo หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I am kind of mixed on the tuning aspect. Having more simple adjustments is great, but it's also more stuff to get out of tune or improperly tuned. Also, as others have mentioned, once it is tuned properly you shouldn't have to re-tune unless you change something. So how often do the majority of archery shooters really need to tune their bow?

    • @jackbuendgen389
      @jackbuendgen389 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I personally love your videos and content but I do have on small gripe when you test the manufacturer specs and there measurements and there spot on you can't dock them point for it it shouldn't be based on what you think it should be how honest they are like the weight it was spot on but you docked them 2 points I don't agree with that but the draw length being long and the brace being long ok I get and the intergrated accessories that hoyt and mathews do are the best in the game i don't get how you dock points for that as well and I get the tuning can be a pain but I still think it's a little unfair in that aspect of it docking points when the measurements are spot on other then that bro keep it up love to see more content in the future!!

    Can you measure the full draw stability on each bow? Lancaster Archery said that's the most important measurement when shooting long range. The reason PSE mach 30 and 33 shoot so good at long ranges is because the brace height grows 1 or 2 inches at full draw. I want to know what other bows measure out to be.

    • @jasongage4905
      @jasongage4905 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Lol

    • @jrhunt414
      @jrhunt414 หลายเดือนก่อน

      He isn’t going to do it. Trust me. Been commenting about taking this measurement instead of reflex for years. No response. It would blow his mind if he measured any Mathews hunting bow. But kudos to Mathews for getting speed and smooth draw for a bow we are really only shooting short distances with. I would really only expect people with a year of engineering school under their belt to be able to understand the concept and why this measurement matters. In the past limb and cam design was significantly different and a simple brace height measurement told you almost everything you need to know since every bow featured “full draw stability”. When companies pushed holding weight down and brace height down and extreme limb angles it sacrificed the bows resistance to torque to gain in riser length and speed. From Josh’s own admission, he doesn’t read comments. So as much as we may try to teach, question, or understand, it falls on deaf ears and he’s just going to keep doing his own thing no matter what we say and that’s ok.
