- Jacob’s Ladder via Mam Tor and Edale
Starting from Hayfield on a textbook circuit the intention was to ride the loop clockwise but due to a basic navigation error we rode the loop anti-clockwise. The route was on my GPS but as it's a figure of eight and the climb ahead looked obvious I mistakenly took the wrong branch ! Nevertheless it was a scenic enjoyable ride with plenty of challenges. The route went to Rushup Edge then around Mam Tor to Hollins Cross. Descending into the valley of Edale then onwards to Jacob’s Ladder. Taking the bridleway up the steep ascent it was a case of ride a bit, walk a bit and rest a bit all the way up. Actually the hardest section was after where the footpath and bridleway join at the top of the ladder. After that it was a long descent down Oaken Clough and Coldwell Clough before taking the other small branch of the figure eight through Elle Bank back to Hayfield. Next time will ride down it !

Looked like you picked a cracking day for it 🤙🏻
Great video mate, cracking loop 👍
Thanks will be coming out to the peak district again. Must look through your routes.
Another great ride, wonder what that would be like in the wet tho ?. It's always interesting herding cattle ;-)
Bit close to the business end of that cow !
If you look up the old MBR Classic, back in the days of analogue, it rides in the reverse of this and is a much better ride.. I diod it a couple of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it.
You made me realise how much of a sh*thouse i am with wild life because i'd have seen them cows and done a 180
Just have to judge their mood, see if there's calves or a bull, none in this case
@@juleskayak think I'm traumatized after getting chased by a sheep for about a mile when walking back to my car after a wild camp
Love it. I used to live on south east side of Sheffield and used to love the countryside in the area. Now I live in Spain and have swapped the mud for dust and rocks. Recorded a few rides and hope you do not mind if I post a link to my last ride. Please feel free to delete if not allowed. th-cam.com/video/Pae6s1jcCs8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Gs_zKYDqvMAf6TSX
