Sometimes you end up taking classes for things when you're young and forced. I was in that position when I was 19 and I (stupidly) refused to do vet assisting as I couldn't handle euthanasia at the time. I did CNA/EKG/Phlebotomy instead. I'm not afraid of needles but I HATED sticking kids and babies. I couldn't handle puke and ended up driving a taxi (before Uber etc) and working as a dispatcher and I made a lot more money and was much happier. I'm 38 now and I went back to school for my peer counsellor licence and I work as a recreation therapist and I love my job so much!! I feel like most young people 18-24 have no clue what they really want to do in life and is way to early to settle down. I didn't get thru the whole story yet but he's 24 and should dodge this bullet m I've always been willing to work, even at McDonald's if need be, girl in story wants to just act like a gold digger IMO
But honestly if I HATED needles and hospitals, I would have chosen a different class. I personally never believed in college, I think trade school is better but that's just my opinion.. Unfortunately, I was a recovering drug addict and I liked needles a little too much, and thought that phlebotomy would be a good way to stay clean from drugs and dealing with my "needle fetish". I'm still drug free and I don't need to think about needles anymore thank god 🙏🏽
You should probably first wait until ur girlfriend finishes college, gets her job and then be able to get back on her feet. Then find her a great boyfriend who is obsessed with her. She is so nice to you and she did try. I know this is hard, but she is so nice to you. After she gets back on her feet, just have a new friend group for her so the breakup is not so bad.

The girl sounds like she might be dealing with depression. That sort of apathy is common in chronic episodes...
I have both chronic depression and ADHD, and would agree that she is dealing more with depression than what the replies would suggest.
She hates needles and hospital but was on nursing major before quitting?
