His technique is a middle eastern type of Melisma. He also composes all of his songs & performances which made for some difficult times when he was on Singer 2017 in China because they normally do things a certain way I believe but Dimash is a talented composer and wasn’t about to cave in and do anything he didn’t feel was right for him or the image he wants to portray! Don’t get me wrong, by no means do I mean he was difficult because he is a really kind, respectful and humble young man but as anyone with half a brain can tell, he takes his music very serious! In the show they make their song choice & have one week to work on rearranging the song ect. Dimash sang in several different languages he didn’t know, English being one of them & when he performed The show must go on by the amazing Queen he literally had one week to learn to sing that song & do everything else & although his English wasn’t perfect, considering the circumstances he did a marvelous job! With this particular song, “Hello” by Lionel Ritchie he was invited back to Singer to perform for the 2018 contestants & guest to raise money towards saving the wetlands and he had started studying English before this performance and you can definitely tell the improvement he made. Earlier I mentioned him incorporating a middle eastern sound to the song Hello & that seems to be just one of many sounds of the world (so to speak) that he does with many songs! He’s such an amazing vocalist(all around musician) that he wants to incorporate all types of cultural sounds to his music & share it with the world because as we all know, music is universal and can bring people together that may not normally get that chance or give it a chance & I think that is brilliant! You should watch some footage of Dimash in interviews and just casually around the house during his time on Singer & you would understand him a little more & realize what a humble & really nice young man he is & how much he loves his family & friends and the pride he has for his motherland Kazakhstan, which is a very beautiful and one of the most prosperous countries in the world but they had very hard times before they became independent in the 90’s. I apologize for this Novel long comment, it’s just that I normally listen to hard rock and metal myself but I’m also a huge fan of Pink Floyd which began putting different sounds into their music that others may have found very strange & some still do but I love innovation & I respect talent & I see so much of both in Dimash! Kazakhs are a Turkic people lying alongside the Silk Road. They have musical traditions in common with the Seljuk Turks who migrated to Turkey and the Middle East as well as with Central Asian groups. The riffs he did are used throughout the Middle East but are also part of Kazakh culture. Dimash is trained in Western classical and pop styles to a degree not seen before but he has this rich tradition of Kazakh musical styles to draw from as well. It was a very unique combination of talent, teaching, disciplined effort and cultural milieu that produced Dimash's skills. None of this would be as exciting without the artistic vision and boldness to bring risky presentations like what we just saw and heard. He's amazing. And unprecedented.

Yes. Dimash made this Lionel Richie song his own. Dimash slowed it down and then added a Middle Eastern culture influence to the song. Very different. It took me a long time having to listen several times before I could appreciate this new version of Hello. I have listened to it hundreds of times now.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe it is strongly influenced by middle-eastern singing using this very odd (to us) minor type of scale as is traditional in some middle-eastern regions. It's absolutely stunning. And typically that type of singing, and the traditional asian and far-east singing, is just rather strange to my American ears. So I haven't ever really gotten into those stylings. However, you are very right in that Dimash brings in a very diverse audience. Here's a weird analogy. Dimash is similar to Pentatonix in his unique, risky, and incredible song arrangements. And like how Pentatonix takes songs (especially traditional ones like Christmas music) and modernizes them, likewise Dimash does the same sort of thing by making his textures, tambres, and shades so uniquely diverse that almost anyone can enjoy it even if they're not normally into that type of music. Excellent reaction, man. Thanks again! Can't wait to see the next one.

а ты фанатка я тебя часто вижу в коментах подреакцией, если можешь донеси, прикинь что будет если димаш с пелагеей исполнят для их дуэта написанную крутым песню!, для димаша песен нету, он каверы исполняет написаные под 2-4 октавы, ему разгуляться негде, у меня жена и мать говорят он бог вокала, но как он поет, без души и плохо, я им объяснял объяснял они не понимают, ему разгуляться негде, нету композиций под 5-6 актав, их никто никогда не писал, а вот крутой пелагее с ее речитативом, и димаша с диапазоном, специально под голоса песню, было бы просто конец миру, тем более что пелагея , что димаш, в дуэте очень этичны, одеяло на себя не тянут, думаю реально было бы эпик

I always love your reactions. Yes, there is a reason for different types of music. Everyone is different. For myself I love classic and the like. I very much enjoy your music. Too me it isn’t always the genre of the music it is if I connect and feel something from the artist. Anyone can sing notes on a page. For me, does the person make me feel something. а ты фанатка я тебя часто вижу в коментах подреакцией, если можешь донеси, прикинь что будет если димаш с пелагеей исполнят для их дуэта написанную крутым песню!, для димаша песен нету, он каверы исполняет написаные под 2-4 октавы, ему разгуляться негде, у меня жена и мать говорят он бог вокала, но как он поет, без души и плохо, я им объяснял объяснял они не понимают, ему разгуляться негде, нету композиций под 5-6 актав, их никто никогда не писал, а вот крутой пелагее с ее речитативом, и димаша с диапазоном, специально под голоса песню, было бы просто конец миру, тем более что пелагея , что димаш, в дуэте очень этичны, одеяло на себя не тянут, думаю реально было бы эпик

Too me it isn’t always the genre of the music it is if I connect and feel something from the artist. Anyone can sing notes on a page. For me, does the person make me feel something.
